Honfleur, Normandy, France – The Vieux Bassin and Its Timeless Charm
[Music] [Music] I walked along the shoreline of my days. Tide marks drawn in quiet shades of gray. Time has carved its story on my face. But some things even time can take away. Still the river knows where I’ve been. Washing all my silence in the wind. I have no map. I have no stone. But somehow I am not alone. [Music] Ooh, [Music] memories Like lanterns in the dark, flickering beneath the weathered heart. I tried to run. I tried to stay, but every step just fades away. [Music] Still the river knows where I’ve been. Washing all my silence in the wind. I have no map. I have no stone. But somehow I am not alone. [Music] So I breathe [Music] and I let it go. [Music] The current know the way back home. Oh. [Music] [Music]

The heart of Honfleur is the Vieux Bassin (Old Harbour), lined with tall, narrow houses in soft pastels and slate greys. Their reflections in the calm water make it one of the most photographed spots in France.
Honfleur is a small port town in Normandy, France, that looks like it’s stepped straight out of a painting.
A short walk takes you to Saint Catherine’s Church, the largest wooden church in France, built by shipwrights in the 15th century.
It’s compact, easy to explore on foot, and perfect for a slow day of wandering, eating, and taking photographs.
