This is one of the few villages in the region with a real sandy beach — perfect for sunbathing. Now we’re in the most iconic part of Monterosso’s beach, with the classic striped huts and umbrellas. Built in the 16th century, the tower was part of the defense system against pirate attacks in the Ligurian Sea. It marks the exact point where the two sides of the village meet — a bridge between past and present. From the top, you get a panoramic view of the entire bay, the beaches, and the surrounding hills. Today, the tower houses a charming restaurant where you can dine with one of the most romantic views in Italy. Torre Aurora is more than a viewpoint — it’s a silent guardian of Monterosso’s history and beauty. We’re now walking through the tunnel that connects the new part of Monterosso to the old village. It’s a magical moment in the walk, where the present meets the past in just a few steps. As we exit the tunnel, we’re greeted by a charming view of the beach on the old side of Monterosso. It’s a perfect spot to sit on the rocks, listen to the waves, and take in Liguria’s simple beauty. Here, time seems to slow down — ideal for those seeking peace and silence. The streets of Monterosso’s old town are a true invitation to walk slowly and take it all in.. Each narrow alley holds charming details: colorful facades, flowered balconies, and ancient doors. Bougainvillea often spills over the walls, and flower pots decorate the steps and windows. The artisan shops offer typical regional products — from limoncello and olive oil to hand-painted ceramics.
