Kefalonia 2025 Road Trip πŸš— : Beaches & Villages πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· PART ONE

We just picked up our hair car and guess where we’ve come first? We’ve come to little. It’s a Greek little. Let’s have a look. See what we’ve got inside. Nice pastries. Just got to guess what they are though. Don’t speak Greek. That one’s obviously popular cuz there’s only one left. Oh, there’s two left. Three left. Don’t know what any of that is. That looks like a cheese pasti. Sausage rolls. [Music] That don’t know what that is. Right onwards. It does look vaguely familiar. Some things are the same like meat. Plenty of olives, of course. Well, can’t go to the national park at the top of the mountain cuz it’s closed due to fire risk. Nice two shot. Cheers, mate. Thank you. [Applause] I’m wearing my Stone Temple Pilots t-shirt in case anybody’s wondering. Well, seeing we couldn’t get to the top of Mount Inos, this probably the best view we’re going to get, I would say. But it’s pretty spectacular. Sorry about the wind. Well, I’ve stopped at a place called the Olive Garden. Going to have some orange pie. Really looking forward to that. It’s a lovely place. Nice spot. It’s very cute. It’s very quiet. There’s only uh those two and there’s another guest as well. That’s it. There a couple from London or down south of me. [Music] Two towels from various parts of the world including a lot of them from the UK actually. One from North Yorkshire, Winchester, Bristol, Liverpool, Gilly, Durham, Devon. Very good. We’ve just arrived in Porus after that lovely orange pie we’ve just had. So, let’s have a little wander around. It’s absolutely wet out today. It’s about 39Β°. One of the hottest days of summer so far, the locals say. You can see how clear the water is. Very inviting. Smell the sea. Oh, it’s lovely place here. Chairs and tables on the beach. [Music] Very cute indeed. Be lovely on an evening. Don’t forget to subscribe, guys, and make sure you don’t miss out on my future Catalonia videos. Over here, you can see the ferry. I’ll put on the bottom of the screen where it goes to, cuz off the top of my head, I haven’t got a clue. By gum totally by gum. Now we find ourselves in Scala. Just pulled over. Going to have a little drink. Has accommodation here over the road. Captain’s lounge. Everybody welcome. Air conditioned, comfortable. And then you have this captain’s bar here. This is sea travelers hiding behind the post. Well, captain’s bar was closed till 5:30. So, looks like this is the main drag where you have lots of tournas and whatnot. So, going find somewhere to have a drink, I think. And we found a drink place called Venue. I had a lovely um peach juice and uh Mrs. T-side travel had a lemonade, a Fanta lemonade. Very nice, refreshing. It was so warm. We needed that pit stop. Just been told uh my place where we had a drink just now that it’s 48Β° outside. And what are we doing in the sun? We must be absolutely mad. Handy little map there though, Scala, where we are just now. That’s where we parked the car, Captain Spar, but unfortunately it’s closed until 5:30 this evening. But I think we’re going to come back here on an evening. I think it’ be a lot different. I’m thinking about coming back and staying here next year, maybe. We’ll see. [Music] Everywhere’s empty cuz it’s so blooming hot. And down the end of this road, you find the beach. Very long beach as well. Loads of uh places you can find to sit. Few bars down there as well by the looks of it. Let me know down in the comments if you’ve stayed in Scala or been to Scala. Any recommendations, places you must eat or you must avoid be gratefully received. Socco restaurant that looks nice as well. Menu start to see the prices actually specials tonight. Oh, very nice. Loads of supermarkets, I say. I know you want to come to Catalonia and buy yourself a catapult. Is that a Greek song? Good idea. Seat made out of an old pallet. Seen a few of them actually. This is a local school. Probably broken up for the sun, I would imagine. And that road takes you down to Captain’s Bar where we are parked. We’re just on our way down to Patani Beach, which is over on the east coast of the island. And check this out for a view. How about that? Look at the colors. Absolutely beautiful. fishing tools range some refreshments I think. I was actually quite disappointed with this. I think it was really overpriced and the sandwich was as basic as it can be. like two slices of white bread and a bit of thin cheese and it cost about €25 all together. Not good. [Music] That was a Kyaki. It’s a lovely lovely lovely place. Right, onwards. We’re going to Va Beach if we can find it. We took a wrong turn. That’s why we ended up here. But that was a bonus really. Booty Beach. Nowhere to park, so we’re not stopping. Unfortunately, seems to be the case with everywhere. It’s absolutely packed. Can’t get parked. Never mind. We’ll move we’ll move onwards. Thought to show you the view that we’ve uh few goats down there. We just left after our spot of lunch down there. You see in the distance. Just thought I’d show you the the view from up here. It’s absolutely stunning. Beautiful. [Music] Absolutely [Music] [Music] drive. We finally found ourselves in Asos and it’s absolutely beautiful. Actually, there’s a walk up to the uh castle at the top there, but there’s no way I’m going up there. Even though it’s all day, I don’t think I’ll bother, but it’s up there if you’re interested. Again, there’s a castle, a monastery. Yeah, castle. Go for a swim down there. Isn’t it pretty? Where you turn just really cute buildings. I mean, it goes from top to all pretty kind of derelict. And then down here, you got old ruggedy doors like that. Oh, this is the old one of the old buildings that collapsed during the earthquake back in 1953. I’ll have a look inside and down in a minute when that couple’s midway. The old lamp down there. My gosh. Somebody’s home once upon a time. the old earthquake of 1953 put to that. The Italians definitely helped the reconstructions actually in Italian there at the bottom. The Greek at the top. Definitely too hot to sit in the sun, that’s for sure. It’s roasting. Have you been to Asus? Yeah. Be quite nice to stay for a couple of nights, wouldn’t it? This is getting old time right, I suppose. Anyway, let me know in the comments if you’ve been here, what you thought. Where do you stay? Was it a day trip? Let me know. I’m always interested to get comments from you. Bit more of a nod to the Italians who help rebuild the town. Speak Italian or Greek. Fortunately, I can’t. I’ll try and find a bit more info and maybe do a little bit bit of overdubbing. So, I’ll say over to you, Dave. Cheers, Dave. So, yeah, it was a kind of a symbol of friendship. The effort was not just practical, but also symbolic. It’s like a gesture of postwar friendship between Italy and Greece. Especially significant because Italy had occupied Catalonia during World War II. Rebuilding Assos helped heal past wounds and build a new relationship. Isn’t that nice? Few fish swimming around down there. Small fish being cooked as well. We’re going to find somewhere to have a drink. Just wait for some drinks. Just having a pit stop from those lovely refreshing drinks. I didn’t film because I went down that fast. Too uh too thirsty to film. But that’s just the view on the way back up the hill. Ain’t it lovely? Next stop, Jerusalem. Don’t know if this video does this any justice, but absolutely stunning. Gorgeous place. Don’t know if I showed you the car. Did I? There it is. Citroen Special K 6327. Absolutely gorgeous like everywhere we’ve been so far. And we got parked up. Plenty of parking. We come late in the day. Obviously, it’s paid dividends. Um like to have gone and got some refreshments, but there’s a bar the back of the beach, but it says we’re closed for a private function. Odyssey’s odysseies. Odyssey’s. So yeah, I’ve only got a touch well a little bit of water left. So I’m going have to use that sparingly, I think. So, yeah, but you can see it’s a kind of a rocky uh white rock beach as opposed to the uh sandy ones we’ve had before. But these are the prices if you want to get your sunbeds. Pretty decent. 2020 €20 20 for a set all day. It’s not bad. Rubbish bin there. It’s just a lovely spot. Water’s very clear. Go for a dip now with Mrs. seaside traveler. I come for a little swim. Cool off a little bit. There’s a wedding party, I think, over there on the beach. All chairs set up. Have a look over there. See if we can see any fish, maybe. [Music] A lovely spot, isn’t it? Jerusalem beach. All set for a wedding on a Saturday night. Lovely Capalonia. Plenty of seats available here. Nice. [Music] If you’re ever in Austoi, you must come to the Hidden Garden. It’s absolutely fantastic. Run by some really nice Australian guys with Greek heritage. Um, can’t recommend it highly enough. One of the best meals we had for the entire two weeks. Superb. Well, I hope you enjoyed part one of our little trip around Kefalonia. There’s a couple more videos to come from our series, so make sure you subscribe, hit the reminder bell, and as always, thanks for watching, guys. I really do appreciate it. Cheers for now.
