  1. Been to Malta, beautyfull country. I really travelled like whole Italy, especially the south and Malta. Frances shore, Nice, Monte Carlo, somewhat Spain (Barcelona, Lloret de mar etc) and Ive been to Portugal once on Euro in football, so, didnt saw much.

Ive also travelled trough Greece, actually, only medditerranean country I really did not see almost at all is Turkey.

But, altrough probably due to being personally involved, I really think my country is number one. Cheers from Croatia

  2. Not all Maltese enjoy the fireworks that are fired during the day .. those are the ones that are just noise and they are annoying indeed.. like you said especially for the pets , I have 2 cats and they always hide when there's fireworks. During the night though they usually have fireworks which are not as noisy and have a lot of colour .. which are quite beautiful ! It is just a part of our tradition .. which people that lived during world war 2, still enjoyed even after it was over.. no traumas ( maybe back then they were not so loud huh xD )

  3. you aren't the kind of tourist that bugs us… on the contrary more like you please. The ones that come here to party 18-20 year olds are the real problem.

  4. Thanks for the video. Some corrections for those interested 😊. 1) The 'Brutalist' Parlament building was designed by famous architect Renzo Piano and his design did not come with a cheap price tag 🤷2) Gozo does not have more beaches then Malta. Saying that Ramla il Ħamra is a beautiful red sandy beach 3) The plain buildings you showed in Valletta is social housing from the 70's and 80's.4) Most of the old architecture you see is more baroque then Arabian. Arabian buildings have got a different style. Maltese buildings were rarely plastered or painted and was common to keep on stone. Sicily also has the same system. FUN fact. Grandmaster Pinto (who came from Portugal) was the only grandmaster who learned and spoke Maltese. Well done and more to see when back (M'Xlokk, Mellieħa, Dingli cliffs, Verdala palace & Busketto, St.Julians, Zurrieq and more 👍

  5. Maltese language is a mix semetic(arab) and romanz (italian) as well as a little english. Our culture is def Mediterrean influenced by those who ruled Malta throughout the centuries. The historic buildings are in their majority from Norman times, Knights of St John and more recent british. Reason why you see british influence including driving on the right side is due to Malta being a british colony. We got independence in 1964 and being a republic with our own president since 1974. Yes we are a mixed culture as Malta has always been a hub since prehisotic times.

  6. Maltese here:

Malta: great for a holiday, so-so for retiring, abysmal for building a life here (work, going out, etc). Traffic's insanely bad, especially once schools reopen in September.

  7. I experienced the sound of foreigners trying to speak Maltese before (in Italy)… it's insane to me how much it sounds like Arabic if the speaker doesn't know the nuances and correct pronounciation.

  8. Malta has nothing to do with the middle east, we are a European country, and some thing you should know is that a lot of Maltese people take great offence if told we are Arabs or even compared, so 100% don't go around saying 'inshallah' in Malta as it will not go down well 😉

  9. As a Maltese, if you want to see Malta and the numerous historical places, come in Autumn, Winter and Spring. In these seasons, the temperature is like summer in Moscow. In the Summer, you visit Malta to swim, snorkel and dive: you have to see the underwater world that Malta offers. By the way, I like the video. Well done.

  10. These fireworks happen all throughout summer across the entire island. They are the for the local village feasts celebrating a patriont saint from a church they are very popular and people just like these ''fireworks''
