This week we take a short train ride to Gyeongju from Daegu. Gyeongju, often called “the museum without walls,” is a city where Korea’s ancient past still lingers in the air. Once the capital of the Silla Kingdom for nearly a thousand years, it’s a treasure trove of royal tombs, stone pagodas, and historic temples tucked into lush hillsides. From the celestial mystery of the Cheomseongdae Observatory to the serene beauty of Bulguksa Temple, Gyeongju blends history and harmony like few places can. Whether you’re cycling past lotus-filled ponds or watching the sunset over ancient palace ruins, Gyeongju is a poetic pause in Korea’s fast-moving story.

You should have visited Woljeong Bridge and DongGoong & Wolji at night. It's even more beautiful at night with the lights on there.

I am Korean who live in Australia. I don't like Korean's kindness toward foreigners. They should cut down at least half of it if they know how much we are suffering from racism by White outside of Korea.
But also that's the biggest reason why we Korean can lead kind of software the world with humanism and altruism.
Kyung Ju is my home town.
I was born in 1960 there and had lived there until I finish the high school.
Kyung Ju had been the capital city of Silla during the three kingdom period and unification first time in Korean history.
Silla lasted for 992 years from 57 BC to 935 AD, almost 1000 years.

From the beginning the pronunciation of the city was incorrect. You said totally different city in the west part of Korean peninsula. 경주와 전주는 다른 도시 입니다.
As you were tearful with gratitude for what the young woman did for you, I also became tearful because I felt how loving you must be to react to kindness with so much gratitude. By the way, you are living my dream for the future. I hope I can do the same when I retire!

FYI – Gyeong-ju is pronounced Kyung-ju. "Jeon-ju" is actually another big city of Korea on the western side.

If you ever do another video on Gyeongju make sure to get the pronunciation right because it sounds like you’re saying “Jeonju” which is a totally different city.
I am a bit reluctant to point out this because you made a beautiful content about the city. However, how you pronounce Gyeongju is more like ‘Kyeong-ju’. The problem is, how you pronounced Gyeonju sounds like ‘Jeonju’ which is a totally different city. 😅

Another wonderful video thank you! I’m so glad you highlighted the positive difference between the crowds and over tourism in Japan now compared to South Korea. I’ve seen a multitude of videos coming from experienced travellers who are first time visitors to Japan and they ALL agree that the sanitised, cleaned up version of travelling in Japan is nothing like the authentic reality of exploring there at present. Sadly, Japan seems to have suffered the same fate as Venice, Prague and Dubrovnik and its over exploitation actually severely impacts the whole experience! I’m SO pleased I did my research, because thanks to your genuine videos and those of others showing the reality, I have been able to take Japan off my itinerary for now, and replaced it with South Korea! I’m keen to explore South Korea before it also gets ‘discovered’ by the masses and possibly spoilt as well! Cheers from Australia

연나라 30만 기병을 몰살시킨 백제를 통일한 국가가 신라에요. 어디 경주에 그런 국력이 나올까요 😅
