  1. Drive north through the Pertuis, Mirabeau, La Tor-d'Aigues area and hit up the area on a market day. Much more French summer feal than the port city. Loads of towns to wander through under shade trees.

  2. lovely john – but my head is filled with that great song by the oz band the angels, now…
"Bought me a box of French cigars
    Bought me a black beret
Get my French from a girl next door
Teaching me night and day…" 😊

  3. Hello, John. I’ve discovered your work quite recently. It so happens that I am in the process of doing a proper exploration of Paris (before leaving it for Britanny in a few months) and, conjointly, starting to write on a more regular basis (and in a semi-professional manner at least, if I can manage it). In these projects, I have to admit, both your channels and your blog have proven to be quite valuable. To some extent, I’ve used them as a guide, really. So, I wanted to drop you a note, to thank you, basically.

And, well, no better occasion than the moment you’re visiting my hometown. I hope Marseille is treating you well. I love the city but it’s no big secret that the place doesn’t have the greatest reputation. It’s in part an unfounded vision due to the centuries-long history-based animosity between the north and the south of France (with Paris and Marseille being the focal points of it) but I can’t deny nonetheless that Marseille also has a harsher side to it that can also be quite off-putting at times. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the place and the Provence countryside. Thank you again for the videos and the writing and have a good day.
