Niceee anda important tips 🎉
I think my favorite umbrella theft issue is when someone has a broken one and "mistakenly" takes one that isn't. As you said there is no malice, it might be an honest mistake, but having a unique umbrella helps. The clear, done shaped, plastic ones are $2-3 US soles in many places but unexpected ones will be left alone days or weeks apart.
As for dress sense, you just need to be presentable – this doesnt mean bland and boring, just put some effort in.
JR pass – not worth it at all for 2 weeks or less travel, for any reason. It's cheaper to buy single tickets.
JR pass must have for me. I will be going to Kyoto, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Takayama, Hiroshima, Nagoya and Sapporo. I have a reservation in one of the onsens, near Toya lake (Hokkaido). Should I cover my small tattoo on the left shoulder?
