Visiting Eze Village is like stepping into another time. In this France Travel Vlog, I explore Èze, one of the most iconic cliffside towns in the South of France, and try to understand what makes it so magnetic for travelers along the French Riviera. As someone who’s always searching for more than just beautiful views, my trip to EZE France is about looking for the stories, history, and small moments that define a place, not just ticking off tourist sites.
Èze in France stands out because of its unique location, perched high above the Mediterranean Sea. There’s a reason Eze Village has drawn artists, writers, and travelers for centuries. While wandering through its winding streets, I find myself thinking about Eze Village History, from its early days as a strategic Ligurian outpost, through Roman and medieval times, all the way to its modern rebirth as a must-see French Riviera Village. Knowing a bit of this backstory genuinely changes how you see the place; suddenly every archway and weathered stone wall tells a story of the past.
One of the absolute highlights is the Cactus Garden Eze, also known as the Jardin Exotique d’Èze. This garden isn’t just a collection of rare succulents and cacti from around the world – it’s built on the very summit of the village, on the ruins of an old castle. The result is an incredible blend of art, nature, and history, with 360-degree views across the coastline, including Nice, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, and the rolling hills of the South of France. From up here, you get a true sense of how Èze was shaped both by its environment and by all those who lived and worked in this unique spot.
Of course, there are also challenges to visiting a place like this. Èze in France is popular, and during high season it’s busy. The narrow, steep streets can be demanding, and prices in the main cafes or boutiques are definitely higher than in lesser-known parts of the South of France.
If you’re interested in French Riviera villages, history, and seeing the South of France beyond the usual tourist stops, I hope this France Travel Vlog gives you an honest look at what makes Eze Village both memorable and complex. Whether you’re planning your own trip to EZE France or just curious about what life is like in a medieval town on the Mediterranean, I hope this video helps you see Èze in a deeper way.
