Faroe Islands 4K | The Last Paradise on Earth (Travel Documentary)
Welcome to the Faroe Islands,
one of the most beautiful places on Earth This video features a full tour of the Faroe Islands Welcome aboard Atlantic Airways,
the national airline of the Faroe Islands The Faroe Islands are a remote archipelago in the North Atlantic,
made up of 18 rugged volcanic islands We land at Vágar Airport, the only airport in the Faroe Islands,
located on the island of Vágar Vágar Island is home to Lake Sørvágsvatn,
the largest lake in the Faroe Islands From the right viewpoint, the lake creates
the illusion of floating high above the ocean The trail to Lake Sørvágsvatn’s viewpoint is about
3.5 km (2 mi) each way — mostly flat and easy to follow Lake Sørvágsvatn is also known as the “Floating Lake” The trail offers incredible coastal views After about 45 minutes, the trail’s dramatic viewpoint is reached Cliffs drop steeply into the sea right below the lake’s edge It’s one of the most surreal sights in the Faroe Islands Vágar Island’s other top attraction is Múlafossur waterfall Múlafossur Waterfall is one of the
most photographed spots in the entire Faroe Islands The waterfall is located in the tiny village of Gásadalur For years, the village was isolated,
accessible only by hiking over the mountains Today, a tunnel makes the drive to Gásadalur easy Have you ever visited the Faroe Islands?
If so, what was your experience? Leave a comment Driving in the Faroe Islands is a journey
through wild and ever-changing landscapes Winding roads hug the coastline,
then climb through misty mountain passes Every turn reveals a new view,
with towering cliffs, green valleys, and deep fjords Sheep often wander onto the roads,
reminding you who’s really in charge here The roads are narrow but well-paved,
making the drive peaceful and cinematic The Faroe Islands are connected by
an impressive network of undersea tunnels Some tunnels stretch over 10 km (6 mi) long,
linking distant islands together These tunnels make exploring the islands easier Some tunnels feature striking light installations and sculpture,
turning the drive into a moving art experience We are driving beneath the ocean now,
a surreal and slightly eerie experience One of the Faroe Island’s newest tunnels even
features a giant roundabout under the sea Tórshavn is the capital of the Faroe Island Tórshavn is located on the island of Streymoy,
the largest in the Faroe Islands Tórshavn is one of the smallest capitals in the world,
but rich in character and history The name Tórshavn means “Thor’s harbor,”
named after the Norse god of thunder The town was founded by Vikings over a thousand years ago For centuries, Tórshavn has been
the political and cultural heart of the islands Today, it blends old-world charm with modern Faroese life Tórshavn’s harbor is a gateway to the Faroe Islands,
bustling with fishing boats and colorful vessels The town’s small size makes it perfect for exploring on foot From cozy cafés to art galleries,
the town offers quiet moments of discovery Despite its quiet feel, Tórshavn pulses
with a strong sense of community and tradition Tinganes is Tórshavn’s historic old town Narrow lanes and turf-roofed buildings create a storybook feel Tinganes’ wooden buildings date back hundreds of years Tinganes also houses one of the world’s oldest parliaments The Faroese government still meets here today,
in centuries-old buildings Tinganes was once the site of Viking assemblies Tórshavn’s old fort, Skansin, guards the harbor
with historic cannons overlooking the sea A highlight of any trip to Tórshavn is a dinner at PAZ,
the Faroe Islands’ only two-Michelin-star restaurant PAZ Restaurant is located in an unassuming Faroese hotel Every detail at PAZ, from the ceramics to the lighting,
reflects Faroese aesthetics The open kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs at work PAZ’ owner, Chef Poul Andrias Ziska, brings
Faroese ingredients to life with world-class precision After earning acclaim with KOKS in Greenland,
Chef Poul Andrias Ziska brings fine dining to the Faroe Islands The tasting menu is a journey through
the landscapes and waters of the Faroe Islands Located on the island of Streymoy, Kirkjubøur is
the Faroe Islands’ most important historical site This quiet coastal village was once
the spiritual and cultural heart of the islands Kirkjubøur’s Saint Olav Church is the oldest
still-in-use church in the Faroe Islands The church has been active for over 900 years Nearby are the ruins of Magnus Cathedral,
dating back to the 1300s The cathedral was never completed
but remains a powerful symbol of medieval ambition Eysturoy is the second-largest island in the Faroe Islands Eysturoy means “East Island” and is home to
some of the tallest mountains in the Faroe Islands Eysturoy’s landscape is rugged,
with steep fjords and winding mountain roads Hiking in Eysturoy offers exceptional views Next to Eysturoy Island is Borðoy Island,
the starting point of the ferry to Kilroy Island The ferry ride from Klaksvík – the Faroe Island’s
second largest city – takes just 20 minutes The views along the way are beyond spectacular We’re arriving at Kilroy Island Kalsoy is one of the most untouched places in the Faroes Most tourists come here to hike to the famous
Kallur Lighthouse, where James Bond’s death was filmed Kilroy Island is known as “the flute”
because of its shape and multiple tunnels Each tunnel connects isolated villages
carved into the mountainsides Driving through them feels like entering another time Some tour operators even allow a guided hike in the tunnels The hike to the famous Kallur Lighthouse starts from Trøllanes The trail offers great views of steep sea cliffs and green ridges At the edge of the world, Kilroy’s lighthouse
stands proudly above the Atlantic This remote lighthouse was made world-famous
by the James Bond film “No Time to Die” In the movie, the lighthouse served as the location of
James Bond’s final stand — and his fictional grave Fans from around the world now hike here to relive the scene A memorial stone marks the cinematic grave of James Bond Our next stop on Kilroy is Mikladagur, a picturesque village Mikladagur is home to the statue of the Seal Woman,
a legendary Faroese mermaid The tale tells of a seal who came ashore
as a woman and was never able to return to the sea We’re returning by ferry from Kilroy to
Borðoy Island Árnafjørður is a peaceful village
nestled at the end of a deep fjord on Borðoy Island Surrounded by steep mountains and calm waters,
it’s one of the Faroe Islands’ hidden gems The Faroe Islands are global leaders
in sustainable, high-tech salmon farming Advanced ocean-based systems and strict regulations
protect both fish and the environment Located on Viðoy Island, Viðareiði is
the most northerly village in the Faroe Islands Our final stop is Sandoy Island, which is connected to
the main islands by the longest tunnel in the Faroes Sandoy is one of the flattest
and most fertile islands in the Faroes Sandoy offers rolling green hills, sandy beaches and steep cliffs Life at Sandoy is peaceful, deeply tied to
farming, fishing, and tradition Take a moment to get lost in the power of the waves Dalur is one of the most picturesque villages
on Sandoy Island in the Faroe Islands Fewer than 40 people live here — mostly farmers and fishermen Dalur means “valley,” and the village is
beautifully nestled between steep green mountains The road to/from Dalur offers dramatic coastal scenery Húsavík is a tiny village tucked between
cliffs and ocean on Sandoy’s east coast. With just a handful of homes, Húsavík is
one of the most remote settlements in the Faroes Húsavík invites stillness — a place to pause, breathe,
and take in the vastness The name of the village, Húsavík translates to ‘Bay with Houses‘ Húsavík is home to a tiny and authentic cafe,
which serves delicious chicken soup Thank you for watching my video about the Faroe Islands
Join me on a tour of the Faroe Islands, one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Located in the North Atlantic between Iceland and Norway, the Faroe Islands are made up of 18 dramatic, windswept islands — home to just under 55,000 people and endless natural wonder.

Oh, my lord … how incredible!! Such raw beauty! All that was missing were the wild horses running in the wind … ! Your joy is palpable, dear LTE!! I could feel your tears well up upon opening your bowl of chicken soup!! 😊
Beautifully done, dear friend!! Stunning, really! The music at the end couldn't have been better! You will remember this for a long, long time … yes. So glad you got to experience this!! A top trip for sure!! ❤
Opening scene looks terrifying! What sudden catastrophic event caused that to the landscape…damn
Ouuu looks so peaceful there 😊
the picture is nice. did you record it using an iPhone ?
So beautiful! Excellent video. Wonderful sharing.
Awe inspiring. The sounds, the colours, the majesty of the landscape even the wind and rain is beautiful. Also the architecture as humans build against the elements is magical. This is the perfect use of media it is stunning art in video form. Thank You
This is a HARD pass for me! The Faroe Islands is the country with the least annual sunshine hours a year (by far!) in the world. Yeaaaaaah I'm good…
Tell me please! what month was this video filmed?
when you mentioned Vikings lived there straightaway I could picture it just an amazingly picturesque the food is pure culinary art another beautiful find. Some of the scenery makes me think of NZ
Beautiful video 🙏🙏
WONDERFUL ! THANK YOU ! 💖💖❤🔥
Greetings from 🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶
I love Faroe Islands but it's not paradise. no trees and you can't grow food. all life stocks so much depend from outside the island
Beautiful 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
i hope someday i could visit faroe island
This video is a unique hypocrisy. The Faroe Islands slaughter thousands of wild dolphins every year. They do not even stop at pregnant mothers and young dolphins. Your very outdated tradition is a disgrace to the whole of Europe.
STOPTHEGRIND!!!! STOP slaughtering WHALES
DENMARK & FAROE ISLANDS HAVE DOLPHIN BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS !! DONT Visit this disgusting ISLAND !
Can I ask what editing software you use please?
Hermoso ❤😮😊👍
A green desert. These islands need some serious tree planting program!
From Dieng Plataeau Wonosobo Indonesia with love ❤❤❤
Gift from God✨️🎉
Bravo
luxury Ireland oxymoron xD
