フランス旅行vlog🇫🇷パリから日帰りレンヌ旅|歴史ある旧市街とブルターニュ名物ガレット|ep.4

Hello! This is Okome from komelog. On our way back from Mont Saint-Michel, we decided to stop by Rennes, the capital of Brittany. We couldn’t resist trying the famous buckwheat galette. Since it was a Monday, I checked ahead to see what restaurants were open. (Many restaurants in France are closed on Mondays.) The mysterious folded galette character was adorable! ♡ Andouille galette. Andouille is a traditional Brittany sausage made from pork innards. This is also a specialty apple liquor, and we had some cider with it. My mother ordered the classic galette complete, a value set that included cider and a sweet crepe. This was my first time trying andouille, and it was delicious and not at all fishy. It was filled with Emmental cheese and fried onions, and paired perfectly with the accompanying mustard. The crepe included in the set was salted caramel. Chocolate options were also available. Each crepe was served on a different antique plate, which I also liked. ♡♡♡ My stomach was full. I headed out to Rennes’ old town. Portes Mordelaises: Just a short walk away, I could see these historic buildings. A medieval world. Alsace is famous for its half-timbered houses, but Rennes also has many remaining. Cathédrale Saint-Pierre: Unfortunately, I couldn’t go inside that day, but it was an impressive sight. Every Saturday, the Marché des Lices, said to be the second largest in France, is held here. The half-timbered houses and colorful terraces. If I had time, I would have liked to relax and have a beer at a cafe. I wonder how old this half-timbered house is. It looks so precarious it would collapse if it weren’t for the building next to it. The merry-go-round is an essential part of every French city. It blends seamlessly into the city, which is lovely. The guy I happened to pass by was going too fast. Basilique Saint-Aubin: I discovered a small bus I’d never seen before. So cute♡ I saw “Ciel de rue” on YouTube by Parisian MashAyaVideo (I’m also a member), and I’m glad it’s back this year. I thought it was just art, but it turns out it’s intended to create shade. The shadows and sounds of the swaying ribbons are cute and refreshing. It’s a wonderful initiative. If there was a little more breeze, the ribbons would flutter beautifully. This shop is run by a MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France)-certified chocolatier. I wanted a gâteau breton, but it was too big. I bought a kouign-amann (called kouinette at the shop), a Brittany specialty. I regret not buying any chocolate or galette breton. If you’re interested, they also have a store in Paris. Opéra de Rennes Square is located in front of the Opera House, with the city hall. As you leave the old town and approach the station, the buildings become more modern. As a Japanese person, I can’t help but feel excited when I come across a manga or anime shop while traveling. I took the TGV back to Paris. My stay in Rennes was about four hours, but I was very satisfied. Rennes is a compact city, so even a day trip is enjoyable. Did you notice? On the way back, I sat in the opposite direction (a common French occurrence). There’s only a little time left on this trip. I pinned a lot of things that I’m interested in, but I wonder how many I can pin.
