Broken in France 🇫🇷 Motorcycle Tour
So, we are in land by 200 miles probably. And they’ve got a beach now in the center of the square of St. Quentin. Mad, isn’t it? Mad. Different, but mad. Yeah, there’s more. At least there’s more people out today than we saw last time. Yeah. Oh, yes. And where are we now? So David, we’re in an optitionians in the middle of France. In fairness, the guy is helping David. David’s broke his glasses and he’s going to do a temp fix for him. So which is very nice. Yes. So fix my glasses hopefully so I can see again for 5 minutes. But I don’t need them to ride the bike. It’s a good advantage of it. I don’t need them to drive. I don’t need to use cameras and anything like that. So we shall see. The gentleman has said he can fix it. Yeah. Yeah. Crease is called I think. Well, I can’t sing the praises of the opticians in uh Squentin enough as they just done a free repair on my glasses and now back to being able to see. So, mercy. Mercy. Thank you. Thank you. And uh that is the optitionians in San Quentin. Very helpful and sorted out the It’s craz opticians. Yes. In San Quentin. Did a free free pair of my glasses. Job done. Happy 90 days. Happy days. Everybody’s morning about San Quentin. I can’t vote it. Right. So, we’re now currently in the American Bar in San Quentin after smashing out uh 307 km the day and a 5-hour trip from Luxembourg to San Quentin via Belgium. Uh, what has surprised me is Luxembourg. I never knew it was as mountainous and as beautiful countryside as it is. So, that has surprised me. So, we need to go back and do some more Luxembourg. We’ve done some footage today that’ll looks okay, I hope, but it doesn’t do it just because there’s there’s sweeping bends. It’s it’s everything that I didn’t expect it to be. So, that was my surprise one of the day. And coming back, we went rode across a gorge in uh Belgium. We need to go back there because that looked absolutely stunning as well. So, what’s your highlights of the ride? Uh highlights of the trip for me is Openai. Absolutely loved Obana. Um and probably like to go back down to the south of France as well. Yeah. And do the wine route and then probably Yeah, we’ll see how if if this channel uh explodes then we can do a lot of things. Um so we want your help really. Yes. Like and subscribe and uh comment and put the thumbs up. We need comments. Um like for some reason I can’t work out why but one vlog I did of San Quentin has gone viral on Tik Tok. It’s gone 25,000 views in a day and 450 comments all in French. So whether I’ve upset them by coming to Sanin and doing a vlog of it, I don’t know. But uh seems to have gone exploded here. Uh but Luxembourg was the highlight of my trip so far. Open Eye was beautiful, quaint as how I expected it to be because I’ve looked hard to get into quaint place. Uh MH Shem was also the same. The fact there’s nothing open. Uh, we need to go down for as far as Cor and further down because the wine route goes all the way down and that picks you up down to either south of France or Switzerland. Do a wine tasting sort of like something as well. Yeah. Yeah. One thing I have learned about doing a vlog route, uh, we need to t spend a minimum of two nights in each place because you don’t get to see much about where you are in an evening. Especially when each ride is taking you 5 hours to get there. Yeah. You know, but like I say, yeah, Luxburg, well worth going back, you know, Belgium well worth going back to as well, especially that gorge we saw. And uh, we just take it from there. But uh got two days now in San Quentin to relax before we get the ferry back on Monday. Yeah. And uh we’ll see what else is here. We’ll be able to find the river root and the beach and what have you that’s here. And yeah, like I say, I’ve enjoyed the holiday and it’s a small break. Small break away. And like I say, we know now how to base my route cuz I’ i’ve never done a vlog for a week and a over a week. I’ve just the most we’ve ever gone for is 3 days. So, you know, uh it’s quite the eye opener on how much time we need to set up and do things in between. and that we didn’t do any onroad footage because it is a 5hour slog just by knocking out the miles without having to stop and do filming as well. But we’ve learned now that we’re going to have to manage to get some more filming in of the countryside as we’re going along. So, like I say, so we’re going to have some food now at this cafe. Yeah. Oh, nicely tight with the garden. X part of the corner. Few Teslas and vans. So, last day in France, full day. Sun is out. Sun is shining. Bit cloudy and overcast, but the weather’s looking nice. So, we’re down to have some breakfast this morning and then we’re going to have a wander around St. Quentin and see what is here. I have been advised on Tik Tok to go down to the river and have a look at the park on the river. So, we’ll see what that’s like after. So, time for breakfast. [Music] My god. [Music] Guys might laugh at my jokes. Treat me like one of the bros. Think I’m cool, but they would never date me. Girls might have tiny lace, skin tight and baby faces. dance at the bar like no one’s watching. And I’m just a flower on the wall. Not someone you’d ever fall apart. But in a couple ways, you look at me when I get pretty and you want me. I’ll be picture perfect to make you happy. I’ll be welcome to a peaceful morning down by the river. Behind me here’s the river swarm. As everybody’s pointing out is that uh you know San Quentin was had a vicious battle around here and completely obliterated the town during World War I. And we are on the river s and it’s a lovely tranquil peaceful morning with just the ducks floating down the river. forget [Music] girl wouldn’t have to work as I get things for free. [Music] Well, good afternoon from St. Quentin. Um, the rain has now stopped. It is picked rain earlier on. The rain has now stopped. It’s been raining for the last hour and now we’re back to 28° with plenty of sunshine. So, let’s uh hope for the weather changes the same for the ride home tomorrow. We’re heading back tomorrow and let’s hope the weather stays as it is now. Nice and gorgeous. So, until then, we’re going for a dip in the pool. So, we’ll speak to you in a minute. [Music] She’s happy now. You’re happy now. Good audience now. [Music] So, the sun is out again. 27°. Beautiful sunshine. Bamboo is by my feet. J’s chasing shadows. And we’re going to do a quick review now of Go. Let’s get my Get sorted. Get sorted, David. Right. 27° sun’s out. Bamboo licking my legs. Uh uh so hotel wise, we stayed here at the Le Colossus three nights now. We done two nights last two nights and we did night one night on the way out. Fabulous place. Little indoor pool. This does nicely. And the food and drink is excellent and service is fabulous. So I quite like this place as a as a stopover. Um the place in Oana again fabulous pool area. Fabulous pool outdoor pool weather was gorgeous. The only complaint there was that we had the apartment which was two floors. Stairs are a little bit steep. So it was disabled. You’d never get up them and the bed was a little bit hard. I didn’t like the bed. Uh, DACA. Hotel DACK. DACA. What’s it called? Hotel DACA in Luxembourg. Again, a little bit dated, but the bed was ginormously comfort and comfortable. Fabulous place. The pool was exquisite. Again, if you’re disabled, you wouldn’t get in it. There’s no disabled access, but the facilities there were outstanding. That could be a fabulous place, couldn’t it? And the views over the over the valley was out outstanding, you know. So that’s my view of it. We’ll pass you over to the boss now and see what her view. She’s eating ice again. She’s she’s always eating when I do a piece of camera. Eating ice this time. So like I say, so there my views of it. I one you know what I I quite like you the stairs were a bit steep to go up and down to bed but apart from that it’s fine. Uh my worst points are my back keeps going out and I don’t know why. doctor reckons it’s muscular problem but I at one point it was a touch and go that we’re actually going to get anyway isn’t it so that’s a one something I got to check on the way back and uh so apart from that the roads in France I find exquisite the roads in Luxembourg are like motorway surfaces they’re like race tracks they’re actually pretty smooth there wasn’t a lump in any of the roads or a dip divot or the road between Belgium and Luxembourg. Well, do you do potholes and at one point I smashed my testicles and tank three times. It was that hard. It was that rough. But like you say, they had roads that said 120 km an hour. You couldn’t go faster than 70 cuz like plow field was smoother. So yeah, Buff Mat I found the experience learning curve because I’ve never done a European tour before. So for vlogging, it’ll be this at the benchmark for the future. And tomorrow’s ride now will be from hotel here in uh St. Quentin back to the ferry port where CLA’s booked a 50 quid ferry back to the UK and then we’ll be a ride back then in the evening home. So you eating ice again and we finish eating now. She finished eating ice. See she’s eating ice. She is red. So your overview. It’s been a lovely break away. Um, it’s made me uh think about that work isn’t important anymore. Is that nope? Um, my health is has deteriorated, but we’ll get some more news on that shortly. Um, which is better. dress is better as a bonus. Um, but yeah, we’ll see what the future holds. Um, and live life to No, don’t worry about work. Don’t worry about your finances. What’s the point? You can’t change anything. But no, this break has been brilliant. Nice time away. So, thanks to David for arranging that and uh putting up with me. um been really supportive. So, I can’t fault that. Whatever. Can’t uh can’t fault that at all. So, anyway, enough about that. And uh it’s been a positive uh experience. Loved we need to go back to Luxembourg. Yeah, loved loved riding on the back of the bike. I never thought I could do all that them miles. Um but I did it. which really surprised me. Do 250k a day. Yeah. And uh now I’m losing the weight as well. That was positive. But I feel Yeah, I feel better. But the docs doesn’t don’t think so. We’ll see you in the next two weeks. She being a do say now test the next two weeks and see how we go from there. If we take it from there, once we get the next two weeks out of the way, we’ll take it from there. So, like you say, uh, back to back to reality on Monday. Back to looking sorting out the the parents out. Back to sorting out the Gloria out. So, what is that then you’re using there? Olive oil, rosemary, and chili. That’s hot. No. No. So, that’s the hot bit. So, I found out what the hot bit is. It’s the chili in the oil. Fabulous pizza at Hotel Colossus, whatever it’s called these days. What is it in uh St. in France? Say fabulous pizzas, fabulous food, fabulous service, breakfast in the morning, and then we get hitting the road jack. It’s hard to do. It’s hard to do. But all journeys coming to an end until the next one. So, we’ll see where we end up this time tomorrow night. Should be bargaining blighty, I hope.
Our final day in France didn’t go quite as planned — my glasses broke! Luckily, we found a quick repair and made the most of the sunshine with a scenic motorcycle tour of beautiful Saint-Quentin. From charming streets to historic landmarks, ride along with us as we say goodbye to France in style.
