10 AMAZING Places in Georgia (Ultimate Georgia Travel Guide)
This is Georgia. In this video, we’re going to show you our top 10 favorite spots in Georgia. And by the end, we’re pretty sure you want to book a trip here. [Music] [Music] A place you’ve probably heard of and one that definitely deserves a spot on your Georgia itinerary is Kazbei. Officially known as Stephen Minda. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the caucuses, this region is honestly every traveler’s dream. You’ve got snowcap mountains, beautiful valleys, and one of the most iconic churches in the country right there. The Gagetti Trinity Church perched high on a hilltop with Mount Casb right behind it. Hiking up to the top is all part of the adventure, whether you hike the trails or you jump in a 4×4. And if you want to know what the hike is really like, make sure you check out our last vlog where we show the full experience. Beyond the views, Kasbi is also the perfect place to slow down and enjoy Georgian hospitality. The place that we’re actually staying is so nice. We’ve got accommodation that’s got views over these mountains behind us here, and it’s really nice, and it was only £35 a night. Whether you’re here for hiking, waterfalls, or just soaking up the scenery, Kazbeggi is an absolute must when visiting Georgia. All of the spots that we visit in this vlog and our other Georgia vlogs are on our Georgia map spots. So, you can head to Mapper to check them out. As a free user, you only get access to a few of these spots, but for just €5, you’ll see all of our recommendations, including restaurants, iconic viewpoints like this, and so much more. [Music] The second place you absolutely have to visit in Georgia is Kaketi, the country’s most famous wine region. [Music] Kaketi is Georgia’s famous wine region, and the traditions here go back thousands of years. In fact, Georgia is considered the birthplace of wine, making this region a must visit for anybody who loves wine. Georgian wine is some of our favorite, and it’s extremely affordable and very easy to do a tour that takes you to some of the best wine spots in this region. No visit to Kaketi would be complete without stopping in Signagi, a charming town known as the city of love. So, we’re currently at a small little vineyard here in Signagi, and we’re about to try some wine. Very excited. The town itself is surrounded by old defensive walls that stretch for miles with incredible views across the valley. We’re currently just walking the old walls of Signagi, and it’s stunning around here. Kaketi and Signagi together give you the perfect mix of culture, history, and of course, incredible wine. [Music] Next up is Mark Villi Canyon. Just a short trip from the city of Kotayi. This place is absolutely stunning with dramatic cliffs and waterfalls all around. You can explore the canyon on foot, following the trails that take you past several viewpoints and cascades. or you can hop on a small boat that makes its way through the turquoise waters. It’s an amazing experience and one of the most beautiful natural spots in western Georgia. [Music] Nearby, you’ll also find a Cats Canyon, which is another must visit spot in Georgia. This canyon is all about dramatic views, and the best way to experience it is walking along the suspended walkway. This is crazy. Very high. You’re literally walking above the forest with the canyon stretching out below. At the very end, the walkway opens up onto a platform that extends right over the edge. Well, this platform over at Cats Canyon is awesome. But if you’re afraid of heights, then I would not recommend it because you have to look down through the grated flats and all you can see is a canyon below you. So, pretty crazy. [Music] A top 10 Georgia video would not be complete without mentioning Georgia’s beautiful capital city, Tlisi. This is the heart of the country where ancient history meets modern life, and it’s often the first stop for anyone visiting Georgia. [Music] Welcome to Tlisi, a city we knew nothing about. and now we’ve fallen in love with it. [Music] The old town is full of cobbled streets, colorful balconies, and historic churches. It’s one of the most beautiful and lively parts of the city. We’re now heading into Maidan Bazaar, which used to be a popular area full of traders, and now it’s a bit of a beautiful area. There’s restaurants and cafes outside, and we’re heading into the bazaar now. For the best view of Tlisi, you can ride the cable car up to the mother of Georgia statue where you’ll get incredible views right across the city. Tlisi has quickly become one of our favorite cities in the world and it’s easy to see why. Whilst you’re in Tlisi, don’t forget to visit the Chronicles of Georgia. This huge monument tells the story of the country’s histories through its incredible stone carvings. [Music] Welcome to the Chronicles of Georgia. This right here celebrates 3,000 years of Georgian and Christian history. It’s also only a short drive from Tlisi, and it’s well worth visiting. [Music] An ideal day trip from Tlisi and another must visit city in Georgia is Mskeeta. This town is small, but it’s packed full of history because it was the old capital of Georgia and it’s only a short trip from Tlisi. At the heart of it is this iconic cathedral. This cathedral and the old part of Mitsketa is one of four UNESCO heritage sites in Georgia. And just above the town is Javari Monastery, perched on a hill where two rivers meet. And together with the old town below, Mitsketra is one of the most memorable places to visit in Georgia. [Music] Another must visit city in Georgia is Katayi. It’s one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in Europe. Kotayisi has a relaxed charm, a great food scene, and plenty of history to explore. Highlights include the UNESCO listed by Grati Cathedral. On top of that, Kutayi makes a perfect base for exploring the surrounding region with incredible canyons, caves, and waterfalls all just a short drive away. We’ve linked our recommended day trip from Kuti in the description below. [Music] Now, this might not be a city or a natural wonder, but a top 10 list of Georgia wouldn’t feel right without including the food. From hearty dishes like kinkali dumplings and cheesy kacapuri bread to fresh salads, grilled meat, and incredible stews, every meal is filling and full of flavor. So, this is mushroom kinkali, and it’s so tasty. Really good. Eating out is also super affordable, which means you can try a huge variety of dishes without breaking the bank. Trust us, food alone is enough reason to visit Georgia. [Music] Our final spot is Batumi and specifically the Batumi Botanical Gardens. Before visiting Georgia, we’d heard some pretty mixed reviews about Batumi, but here is out. This city has got some incredible spots. The gardens are one of the best, and the area is filled with plants and trees from all over the world. As you wander along the trails, you’ll come across viewpoints over the Black Sea that are absolutely stunning. It’s really beautiful here, guys. Such a lovely botanical gardens, and the views you get from the top are incredible. If you’re visiting Batumi, the botanical gardens are a mustsee and the perfect way to end your Georgia adventure. And that wraps up our top 10 places to visit in Georgia. Thank you so much for watching. We honestly can’t recommend Georgia enough as a travel destination. It’s such a beautiful country with so much to see from mountains and canyons to amazing cities and incredible food. All of the spots we’ve mentioned in this video are included in our Georgia map spots, which you can find linked in the description below. We’ve also added some recommended day trips in there, too. So, definitely check that out if you’re planning a visit. Don’t forget to subscribe, and we’ll see you in the next video.
