WALKING IN LARNACA – AUGUST IN FINIKOUDES – what is it Like??

[Music] [Applause] [Music] Well, hi guys. It’s George from Cypress Insight. Today we’re at Lanica Seafront or Fininez, which means palm tree and I’ll show you why in a minute. This is the marina and at the moment they’ve got a trampoline park. There it is. Hello. Hello. How are you? Very nice shirt. Right. So that’s the trampoline park. Also, they’ve got a little kiosk where you can get snacks and food. They’ve got a car park here as well, guys. There is another car park over there, which is free now and again. I think you’re better off coming in here. It’s just about €3 for all the evening. So, there you are guys. Very good value for money. And there’s always lots and lots of parking spaces here in the marina. So, and it’s hasslefree as well. So, there you are. Right, we’ll go up the slope and then we’re straight on to the prominard. We’re going to walk along the prominard. At the end of the prominard, we’re going to get something to eat. Are we eating on the prominard? Is it somewhere here? Side road off. Side road off. A recommended. Yes, recommended kebab shop. Is it something? Something like that. Anyway, there we are. We’ll find it. Are you going to put it on Google Maps? No, I know where it is. Oh. Oh, that’s a thing. Now, on the way back, guys, if we feel up to it and we’re not super super full up, look, there’s a brand new Papa ice cream. There is there’s a handsome Gretle as well. There is a handsome Gretle, but Papa is very good value for money and after a meal, you only need a scoop. So, there we are. We might try that. There’s a pier, the old pier. And there’s the boats trips that go off, guys. There’s all sorts of trips from here. Look, there’s a yellow submarine. There’s a cruise ship with barbecues and sunset cruises where we are. So, loads and loads of cruises from now. If you fancy coming here guys and you’re in broad and nappa, you can always get into city pass. I’ll show you in a minute where it ends up. There’s the beach. It’s a lovely beach. Perfect all year round beach. Because it’s very, very shallow. It means that the water’s very warm throughout the year. January February can get quite chilly, can’t it? But apart from that guys, warm sea throughout the year. Of course, there’s hotels and apartments all down here. So, all round resort and all the restaurants and bars are open all year round. These are the palm trees that are over 100 years old. Oh, yes. These are the palm tree guys. That’s why it’s called finigu cuz that means palm trees. Now, if you’re coming in from the UK and you’re going to land at the airport, guys, you’re going to come along here, go up, and then you’re going to turn round and land. I think it’s slightly changed now cuz all the planes seem to be coming over our house. Yeah, that might have changed. Well, I tell you what, we’ll look out for a plane and we’ll soon find out. But that’s the usual route. Right. Intercity buses. Let me show you. There we are. Now you can download or have a look at the timet online. There’s the inter city buses which are green in color. Really good service. Look at this. Starts at 6:00 in the morning. Nicia. That’s Nicicoia. This is Lana, isn’t it? Starts at 10 to 6. This is what you need. Now, is the bus green still? Yes. There we are. Bus is still green, guys. Starts at 6:00 in the morning, goes right up to 10:00 at night. It doesn’t go to Patara. So, you’ve either got to go into Paralindi, okay? Which I recommend cuz then you get a seat cuz it’s the start of the route or go to Afa on the 102 and change. Okay, got that guys. So, if you’re in Praada, you’re going to have to go to Paraly first. and get your bus from there. And then it comes straight here. It goes down the highway and straight here. In fact, look out for videos, guys. I do believe I’ve got into city bus two or three times or or you can get the 7-Eleven to the shopping center and then get the bus off. There we are. That’s an alternative. If you’re in brother, grab the 7-Eleven. Does that go around the houses though? It’s a free villages. Three villages. So, it’s a longer route. It’s a longer route, but it’s a free sightseeing tour. It is free sightseeing tour. How about that? Now, if we continue down, we can show you the beach and we can show you there’s still lots and lots of people on the beach. Of course, it’s August. Lots of people do come to the beach, especially this one for the evening. Bring a picnic. They come down after 6:00, 7:00 when it cools down and have a little picnic and go night swimming. Very, very popular with the locals. We will do a video across the road, guys, on the way back. That’ be a separate video. show you a few of the restaurants. Look out for lots and lots of videos down here. Now, there’s an enormous amount of choice. It really is a lovely bustling town. Behind this actual prominard is another road that runs parallel and that’s I call the high street. Loads of kiosks here guys with very reasonably priced ice cream. Oh, delish. You can grab a corn and a cob. There we are. €3. Free corn and cob. Pre-dinner corn and a car. So, if we continue down here, we can show you the toilets. There’s the public toilets. Oh, that’s a good idea. I think that’s new. It’s got flower beds all the way around. I do like that. So, we got new flower beds. There’s slope going down to the public toilets. There’s showers as well. Let’s make our way around here, shall we? That’s free water. That’s a machine with free water, guys. Put your bottle under there. It’s good for recycling, you see. There’s a massage tent as well. And you can see how wide this beach is. Really is wide. There’s dark sand as well. So that also keeps the water nice and warm. So you got that sort of darker. So yeah, they’re about what 200 m out at least, maybe bit more than that. And they’re up to their waist. Loads of convenient located benches all along, guys. Very, very popular. Your convenient located benches down here. A nice little rest. There’s swings and slides for the children. There we are. That’s the playground. Buckets. Yeah, you can get a KFC bucket. Bargain buckets they used to call them. I wonder if they’re called bargain buckets anymore or something else buckets. In fact, there’s an advert over there. You can just about see it for buckets of stuff. That’s a solo. So that is the the advert for the solo bucket. You get a lot of fiber 450 or 4. Can’t make it out. 490 is that. It’s called the solo bucket. Wow. That’s a lot of food in that bucket. Ordinary wings chicken. Wow. Like a good value, mate. More ice cream as we go along. €250 a scoop there. Now, what else are we going to see? Oh, by the way, right at the end is a castle. Look out for the video. Beautiful castle. Oh, lots of uh torturing stuff inside, isn’t there? There is a a torture chamber within the castle. Right now, do you know whereabouts this restaurant is? Next on the right, honey. Next right, guys. There’s the tuck in. Have we been in the tuck in? I think we have, guys. So, do look out for the video. Good value for money, especially at this end of the prominard and get some really good meals here for very good value. Been in Cali. Yeah, we’ve been in Calamari as well. Again, good value for money. And the Royal Navy maybe. Yes. SuffK Royal Navy. Well, we’ll find it. And we did a little video. There is a Oh, I’m going to call it new. It’s probably about 8 years old now. There is a a jetty. There it is. It’s just for walking on. You can’t put your bolts on it at the far end on the left hand side. At Christmas, they decorate everything. Guys, look out for the videos. Wow, Christmas time here is amazing. Navy Marine. Oh, yes. Navy Marine. There we are. Kebab shop. Look out for videos. Now, Christmas time is amazing here. Really is. Right, let’s continue down here. Palm Street kiosk. You convenient kiosk. There we are. handbags, slow beers, crisps, anything you like in your convenient location kiosk. Ah, there’s a jetty. You see, right at the end. Water sports. Water sports right at the end here, guys. Now, we’re going to go down that road, aren’t we? Yeah. Okay. So, that’s island or coffee island, should I say. Oh, that’s a new building, isn’t it? Look at that. That’s fancy. I told you it’s become very very cosmopolitan here. Right at the end is the castle. Definitely not to be missed. Lots of um Syrian and Lebanese restaurants down here, guys. Look out for videos. Triple delish. There’s one over there. And there’s some right at the back. statue.
