Is a night in not very shining armor. True emblem of Bizier in the Herrow. The St. Nazar Cathedral still stands proudly near the Roman and medieval ramparts of the ancient city. Visible from far away, the building was built on the ruins of an old Romanesque cathedral burned during the crusade against the Cathars in the early 13th century and on the remains of a Roman temple. The works lasted until the 15th century, but have not yet reached their end. The closter has never been completed for lack of financial means. Listed as a historic monument, the St. Nazair Cathedral has a square tower of almost 50 meters high surmounted by a turret with an iron bell tower and a bell of the late 18th century. On the upper part of the 15th century, it is possible to admire columns whose bases represent human faces. Visitors can also discover impressive gargoyles, rot iron gates from the 14th century or a sacry built under Gon de Monu in the 15th century. Inside the building is full of works to enjoy during a walk like the six large paintings installed above the stalls and depicting scenes from the life of Moses and the life of Constantine and his mother St. Helena. The walls are also partially covered with fresco restored in the 1910s and dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. The closter unfinished allows however to admire fragments of late ancient sarcophagi and the garden of the bishop brick below offers a unique panorama on the plane of orb bridges of the city or the locks of fons.
