Ile De Re France

there was sun and there was rainy. Yep. Sorry, it’s just booked the driver. Anyway, that was a lovely little stop. Good walk yesterday. We had our free symbol full of wine and uh we’re heading off today to France, but stocking up in Merkadona before we cross the border somewhere. And as the weather girl, I have to report it’s sun and blue sky. Dave’s been very quiet. I’m just wondering if my mic’s on. Yes, it’s on. Just settling into the He’s settling into the driving. Yeah. Making sure everything looks and feels okay. Okay. And now there’s something in the air and a sparkly shimmer on our skin. Restoring everything within. [Music] Dreamy breezy we go. Just leaving the site heading into the left lot that we like a lot and quite a few British vans on the site. Yeah, this time. Yeah, I said I bet houses in the flop cost a lot. This is my pretty street into the port. [Music] New York. Yeah. As you’re in Il or Paris. No ones. Well, yeah. There was one on my head. Oh, yeah. My head [Music] goose chest. Oh, you were down there. You went to the toilet. Honest. Honest. John. Well, the WC Publix looks down here. Oh, yeah. Yes. Little tap there, Mr. Oh, hope you can wash your hands if you’ve been to the toilet. It’s all automated. I told you that. It’s like a spaceship. We You didn’t remember it. No, it’s a bit late now. [Music] The tide is in. Is that a song? No. The tide is high, it Yeah. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I’m just going to press pause as the following day we decided to get the bikes out and I wanted to do the whole of the island. But Dave, in his infinite wisdom, far more brainier than me, said no, we’d only do half. It was 30 odd miles in headstrong winds, and by the end of it, we were knackered. The dogs were knackered, so it was just as well we only did the half. Anyway, it doesn’t show on the video with the music, but it was hard work. It was flat, and I is great for cycling. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] Hey, guess what? There’s no pain there. No, you’re not too big. No, you must do nothing. Yeah, pain on the opposite side. Do you know when I was 21, I should have had all my teeth removed and implant. Yeah, they probably less hassle. I don’t know. Apparently don’t last, don’t they? No. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Thank the Lord. Good morning from a rainy France. I was going to say Spain. Just leaving camping bell air near Laflot and as you can tell it’s rained a lot overnight. Filled up a lot yesterday, didn’t it? Everyone seemed to go Sunday evening. Yeah. Yeah. And it was quiet and we thought it’ll be quiet now till the win next weekend. But yesterday full up. Full up. Yeah. Many got a swimming pool over there. You’ve probably seen it before cuz we’ve been here before. And that’s new I think. I don’t think that was there last time. No. Um we are just heading into St. Martins. Seven mile round walk. Yeah. We were bottoms are too sore. Yeah. From the long long bike ride. How many miles was it? 30 something. 30 odd. Yeah. Yeah. And against a serious headwind with the dogs being towed behind us on our bikes. So, it was uh hard work. Very hard. Especially on the one bottom. Anyway, we like St. Martin, so we’re going there. And I don’t think the dogs want to go in the trailers again. No. And we’re having pizza tonight. Yeah. Pizza from the site. Yeah. Anyway, just heading into Laflot to walk along the coast to St. Martins. 11 a.m. I was going to say P.M. then. There’s always one Luna. I bet you don’t know the date though. 14th of May. It’s probably somewhere around about there. Yeah, maybe 30. Tuesday. It’s Tuesday. 2025. Another year. It’s actually the 13th of May. Oh, there you go. Cuz we got the vets booked on the 15th, which is a Thursday. Yeah. Ferry back on the Monday. 19th. 19th. Monday. Yeah. So, yes, the rain is continuing to follow us, unfortunately. It’s lovely here from tomorrow onwards when we leave. Hey ho. Going somewhere new tomorrow as well. Some more. Some more. Which one? This one. Yeah. Oh, unless you want to walk through the flop. This one. [Music] I do like this place. We’ve got all the tractors out there. Yeah, they’re digging for shellfish. Correct. Wow. They’re queuing up. Big business then. Yeah. A lot of money in it. Okie dokie. Onwards. [Music] So when they get the shellfish out of the sea, they used to put them in these big tanks. I suppose it keeps them fresh, doesn’t it? Until they’ve got a a buyer or they transport them to fish market or the restaurants or whatever. [Music] Yeah, but they haven’t. Look, they’re real shells in the rock. Never mind. Someone cemented those on. You’re impressed. some point from someone’s garden wall or something, isn’t it? Maybe. I tell you what, they have a lot more of these little restauranty cafe things now, don’t they? Yeah, I seem to. Than than the first time we were here. [Music] Oh, it’s the donkeys. They were all dressed up last time. [Music] Not so pretty when the water’s out. No, it’s not. Is it? We’ll be back in soon. [Music] This is one that got burnt down loads of times. Yeah. [Music] Get what you want. [Music] And yes, of course, we did stop for our drink. And it was the most expensive drink we’ve ever had at €16.50, but well worth it. And just before leaving I where we had plenty of time, we thought she was deserving of a wash and clean. But how stressful this was trying to get it done within those minutes of the tokens counting down. We were so stressed at the end. Anyway, thanks for watching. As ever, please like, share, subscribe, and see some more. Thanks for watching. Bye. [Music]

We headed back into France with a quick stop at Ondres and Chevanceaux before heading to Ile de Re and camping in La Flotte. We really like the quaint port town of La Flotte.
This time we took the bikes out – Ile de Re renowned for easy cycling and it is. However the strong head wind and towing 35kg plus behind made out cycle challenging – and also the dogs were exhausted by the end. Lovely walk to St Martins and it was time to leave
