Nürnberg Germany has more than it’s share of churches despite WW2 heavy damage from allied bombing.

There are so many churches here in the old town of Nerburgg. And what’s really remarkable is that most of these churches were totally bombed out by the Allies during the Second World War, but they rebuilt them. So yeah, there’s a lot of churches. You can’t swing a dead cat around here without hitting a church. [Music]

Nürnberg Germany has more than it’s share of churches. Extensively rebuilt after WW2 due to heavy damage from allied bombing, the city skyline’s architecture has been restored.

St. Sebald – Sebalduskirche Nürnberg (Sebalduskirche) – one of the oldest and most important churches in the city.

Frauenkirche – Gothic church on the main market square.

Kirche St. Klara – a historic church, today often used for exhibitions/events.

Kirche St. Elisabeth – Baroque church near Jakobsplatz.

St. Jakob – medieval church, part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

St. Lorenz (Lorenzkirche) – large Gothic church, a landmark of Nürnberg.

Katharinenruine Nürnberg – ruins of the medieval St. Catherine’s Church, now used as an open-air venue.
