Our amazing adventure to Legoland Deutschland!
Hello again from the country’s favorite airport in the premium Terminal 3. It’s Mommy and Edward’s turn to go on holiday together today. First holiday, Mommy and Edward. And we’re going to Where are we going, Edward? Germany. We’re going to Germany. And where are we going to go when we get to Germany? Legoland. Legoland, Germany. So, we’re just sitting looking at the runway. Um, Edward is getting himself nice and comfortable already. That’s the short bit done. Wink cologne. Let’s go and get a load of train now. Train number one. How many trains are we doing today? Three. Waiting for our train to Munich. Not this one. The train is No, that’s that’s train number two. Woo. So, the reason we’re on the train is that um as any traveler will know um flight prices vary wildly. So, to fly return to Cologne from Manchester was £170 for locals. Um and to fly to Munich from Manchester because of the days we needed to fly, we could only fly and it was £800. So, we’re doing a 4-hour train journey to be able to come. The other option was flying to Memingham, but the flight didn’t leave Manchester till 7. So, that would have been a very late. Um, probably about the same as what we’re going to get in here, but we’ve had the adventure. We’re watching cat videos without trying to upset the rest of the train. I don’t get long distance trains in the UK very much cuz it’s so expensive. [Music] So, we’re enjoying our dinner with sunset view. Don’t put it all in. Maybe we were having uh spal uh tomato soup. Um and they were about €7 each. So, and of course a godly drink. We’re at I see some Lego blocks at the top. This is crazy. Oh, yeah. Right. I forgot we need to park. Where are we today? Can I take a picture with you? We’re at Lego and Germany. Yay. Yay. No, we’re going to the We do some rides first cuz we cuz it’s going to get really busy here today. Okay. Oh, there you go. So, similar to the UK app, you can see your express pass, but then you need to go to a separate website to use your reserving ride. Um, I think it was ever so slightly better in the the UK app because I think at least it linked to it. At aent house, but look at that Lego building. Yeah, that’s a stadium that was talking fast. Uh, let’s have a look. I’m going to move before I get wet. Oh my god. Oh my god. Very very lightly damp. Yeah, my back is drenched. I am. What? Oh, look. Wow. So, once again, the express pass is paying for itself. Anatomically accurate baboons. Check [Music] [Applause] the jungle expectation. Q spaces here are lovely and shady. It’s been very well thought out. There’s no trees and they’ve got shade that they’ve provided. So, the log flume is not included in the basic um reserve and ride virtual queue thing. So, I’m queuing for this one. Um but then hoping to do the only inverting roller coaster at any Legoland in the world. um in a little while. But uh kindly Alicia is um keeping an eye on the other children who other than me uh who didn’t want to go on the um log. So, uh moistness rating for that one, not too bad. Um didn’t need a poncho. Had a really good backwards um splash and was quite well themed before the main splash. So yes, as a water ride lover, that was premium. Great. Do you want me to record? Come on. What am I doing? My little Eiffel Tower. [Applause] So, I might regret this immediately after lunch, but I’m going to go on the power builder first cuz it’s only got a 5minute queue. So, let’s see what this is like. Um, I’ve not seen this at Legoland before. Um, I can see why it isn’t mega popular. Like, it looks quite intense for kids. So, yeah. So, I’ve I’ve got um cuz Alicia booked the train for four people, I could book the train just the um the roller coaster just for me. Um but that’s in like 25 minutes. So, I’m going to go and have a little look at this. I cautiously went for a level three there. You could pick between level one and five and three onwards was when it started to go upside down. Jesus, that was a bit frightening. Um, I don’t actually know where the roller coaster I’m heading to is. Mishanstein. in there themed stuff. Interestingly, their hot dogs here are €6.90. It’s almost like only British people will pay £12 for a hot dog. Same company. I do love going to new theme parks that I don’t know, except I I’m getting completely lost looking for the big roller coaster. It’s a fruit themed ride, which is always a good sign cuz our favorite ride at Legoland Windsor is Nica themed as well. And this is the only inverting roller coaster in a Legoland anywhere in the world. Let’s see it go. [Music] Very similar theming to Fly to the Skyline. Very nice. Damn it. Unexpectedly they have a single rider option. Never mind. I did um I did the fast pass anyway and I got to do the uh fun throw you around rides in the meantime. So this is very similar theming to the skyline. [Music] So that’s funny. They’ve got the same queue for the single riders as for the express pass. Um, so I haven’t actually had my QR code scanned now, so I now need to cancel it in order to be able to use it again. Um, but I got a front row ride, so I’m not complaining. Yeah, not very long, not very forceful, but as theme park insanity would say, a great addition to the park. Really enjoyed that. Um, glad that there was something here to give me a little bit of adrenaline. Right, let’s go back and find the others. So loads of rides are on five minutes, including the excellent power builder. Why would you not want to do that if you want to lose your stomach content? Um there’s um yeah, temple expedition is 5 minutes. So going up to the top end, the most the longest ride is is the um Ro Flume. Um the Ninjago ride is 30 minutes, which compared with the Windsor is not very long at all. Um, and there’s the Atlantis as well at 30 minutes. So, I quite like the um satnav function on the app. That’s very, very necessary. This way, boys. However, the actual just signposting is really awful. Like, so we’re going down to Ninjago down this pathway. Who knew? Only the app knew. So, okay. Here we go again. I think there might just be more. Which way is it? I think we just need to wait for this lady. How is it also the summer holidays here? And it is still German summer holidays when everything is on 30 minute cues, not like an hour plus. They’ve got more rides, I think. And of course, efficient ops. Yeah, like there’s only one. It’s busy, but like there’s still stuff you can do. Unlike at Legoland Windsor when it gets busy, everything’s busy. I’m such a pansy English person. 22° and I’m unbelievably like whacked by the weather. It’s slightly frustrating, but in your 30 express pass, quite a lot of rides are excluded unless you’re paying a supplement or upgrade your express pass. Fortunately, that ride over there is included. So, that’s cool. So, that’s the hotel guest entrance. Oh, flipping glacial ride ops. [Music] predictably outside some of this Lego’s a bit filthy. So, we’re making our way out. Kind of similar opening hours to Windsor. They allegedly open till 6:00, but all the rides close at 5:00, so it’s basically the same. Um, we’re going to go and see if we can grab some Legoland Deutsland specific merch. Um, you’re coming that way. Didn’t even get over to that whole area with the with the wild mouse in it. So, we are going back to Alicia’s house. That was awesome. I’m unbelievably tired from the long commute yesterday, but and and it was only 22 degrees here and yet I still felt that that was quite stressful from for my Well, there you go. 24.5. So that’s why I’m being a whining person. Um yeah, that was really good. um allegedly packed today on Q times and yet the longest queue I saw all day was 45 minutes for the log flume. Um which obviously is always going to be the case, isn’t it? And everything else was less than 30 minutes. Most of the key rides stayed at 5 minutes all the day. It’s just because there’s more rides here to soak up the number of people. It’s not hard and it’s the same company that owns a lot of parts in the UK that do this a lot worse. Anyway, huge huge thanks to my excellent friend Alicia. Without wouldn’t have been able to do any of this. She’s putting us up and sorted our trains and everything else. Um, and what a brilliant end to the summer. We’re going to a children’s another children’s theme park tomorrow. which should be rather lovely as well. So yeah, um so to get here, fly to Munich or if you cannot achieve a cheap flight to Munich, um you can fly to Menan or like us, fly to Cologne and get the 4hour ICU train.
Join us on our end-of-summer adventure as we travel from Manchester to Germany to visit Legoland Deutschland! 🇩🇪✨ Instead of flying direct to Munich (which was over £600 more expensive!), we flew into Cologne and hopped on a 4-hour ICE train down to Augsburg.
