Butzbach, the “Friedrich Ludwig Weidig town”, lies on the edge of the Taunus and has many special features to offer with its 13 districts. The town’s market square was named the “most beautiful market square in Hesse” by Geo magazine in 2014.

Impressive half-timbered houses line the town centre and the market square lives from its specialist shops and the gastronomic offerings that give it a Mediterranean flair.

The town of Butzbach offers numerous guided tours to get to know the “Pearl of the Wetterau” with its many attractive facets better.

The Butzbach Museum offers its visitors regular travelling and themed exhibitions. Butzbach is particularly proud of the world’s largest collection of shoe miniatures. This was entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest of its kind.
