Monday Morning Walk Along Paphos Sea Front And Harbour

Hi, this is Dominic for pathos life on a beautiful Monday morning late August. Just walking down the seaf now. If I catch the information sign right, I’ll be able to tell you how hot it is and what time it is. You have a guess. Actually, I’m going to guess it’s about quart 9. Be interested to see how wrong I am though. Looking at that, I think it said 9:29. So, we’ve lost a quarter of an hour. Very low decibels. There’s Ba restaurant on the left. There’s a football playoffs on the 26th of August. Champions League playoffs. Can’t tell you who they’re playing, but it’s PA life in it. It’s 27.3° centigrade on 9:30 25th. So, there you have it. There’s the guy cleaning up. He does a wonderful job. Everyone comments on how to clean and tidy the whole area. So, fair play to them all. This is not just one person. Little fisherman over there. Might get a chance to see him. All depends on what other people are doing. Chef exercise, you’ll give him a bit of privacy. Now, talking of uh place is not open, as it was in the previous film, I just realized. So, if you haven’t seen that, you might not get the link. This little uh block of shops, restaurants, etc. itself is also closed. I remember a few years ago there was a restaurant that came out here. But uh no longer it seems. There’s a little fisherman’s boat out on the water. And talking of little fisherman, what a brilliant segway that was. Let’s go and say hello to this one now. Is that water bottle just dumped there in which case I’ll remove it or has it been left by a swimmer who is out there? I don’t know cuz I don’t want to deprive anyone of their water. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. See those little fish boy and his little fish. It’s quite a big fish actually. So, now we’re coming towards the wooden pub. They won’t be open just yet. They always get lots of comments when I post pictures about them. And if you like our film, please do subscribe to our YouTube channel and share them far and wide. The more people who see it, the best the better it benefits us from the Facebook al YouTube algorithm. Oh, getting casual with my marketing. too casual. So yeah, like us on YouTube and subscribe to my channel, that sort of thing. Obviously, it was been a bit of a rough sea in the night cuz the water’s come up here. Uh if you want to help us out financially, go to our buy me a coffee page at buy me a coffee.com/pathoslife. Chuck us a few coffees. All coffees are very gratefully received, I can assure you. And if you want to get something back in return, go to our Zazzle store at zazzle.co.uk/store/pathoslife/colctions. There you can buy all sorts of memorabilia from Pathos featuring pictures that we put on Facebook and then shared uh with the Zazzle site to put on mugs and things basically. Speaking of Facebook, our Pathos Life Facebook page is the place to go to uh if you want any information on anything that we’re publishing be on YouTube, Facebook or our main Papos Life website. We also have two Papos uh and Cypus uh Facebook groups. One called Papos Chat and the other was called Cypus Chat. Now, a quick word about these groups. Uh last night on Sunday we started a thread. We didn’t start. We let through a thread from an anonymous poster which we shouldn’t have let through not because of the subject matter which was fireworks but because it was insulting and it’s bad enough insulting people on the group but if you do it anonymously and that’s just cowardly. Uh but it wasn’t just the post it was also responses to it. It got completely out of hand and uh the responses were also anonymous and uh in the face of it anonymous responses is carried etc. But given that the original post was also anonymous you can uh in light of day you can understand why etc. Anyway the upshot was no more anonymous posts that contain vitriol. I don’t mind people asking for advice on if they’re coming to holiday in 10 days, for instance, and they want to ask about a specific thing and they’re doing it anonymously, so we’re not announcing to the world that they’re leaving their house unprotected in 10 days time. That makes perfect sense. Or if you’re planning a surprise, that makes perfect sense. But to about something, do it with your own name is all I’m saying. and ditto responses because life is far too much fun to spend time wasted clearing up people’s nonsense. Now, regarding fireworks, I will say this. It is illegal to set off fireworks unless you’re an organized company that has got the proper licenses, etc. So, you will see some fireworks going off, especially on places like uh Wave Dance or Ocean Vision or whatever cruises that have the fireworks, they tend to go off in the case of Yoscu. And besides which, if they’re at sea, they’re not fires anyway. However, if you’re seeing like kids throwing fireworks, then uh in a village into someone’s bin or something like that, then you should mention that when you post the original question, who do I report this to? And I’d imagine the answer there is like you just phone up the local police station and tell them, unless it’s on fire, in which case you phone the fire brigade. But if you just say, “Who do I report fireworks?” People will say, “Well, they’re going to be fireworks here, etc.” So, be specific, not just about fireworks, but about anything. The more information you give, the more likely it is that you’re going to get a sensible answer. Simple as that, basically. Anyway, let’s get back to the fun stuff. This is Pathos Seafront. Monday morning storeh holders are just out. There’s a sponge seller selling his sponges. Mediterranean sea sponges. Morning Calamara etc. and shells. Thank God. Oh, the grain of rice man hasn’t turned up yet. Thomas, I needed it to complete my collection. Oh, that little mystery concrete building over there now has a police sign on it. I I’d assumed it was going to be some sort of bus terminal. No, it’s just a little box where police can sit. 5th of 6th of September is when Carman’s arriving. Oh, Carman’s here because it will be going at the end of the 6th. No doubt, but you’ll get all that at Puffos Harbor. I don’t know if seats are still available. You can book them on ticket master though. Oh, while I’m here and talking about future events, uh 8:00 Friday down at Gorgeous Church, just as the thing above the harbor down there, there’s the 13th cow festival. And there’s live music and traditional criate food there and everything. Well worth a visit. It’s making me hungry again. Oh, I don’t know if you noticed it just back then, but there was another cleaner starting on the seafront as well. So perhaps they’ve got separate tasks like one of them does the edges and the other done does the fly flower beds or something. I don’t know. They are a constant presence cuz people do constantly drop litter. [Music] I remember in the 70s growing up there was a huge keep Britain tidy campaign. They work wonders and they should reinvigorate that and have it on a global scale. Cuz especially in a country like Cypus, litter was actually a fire risk. There’s no buskers about yet, so my film should be free from molestation by the senses. There’s the Ocean Vision and the Jolly Roger. Someone was asking about whether they could get a tour in January or February. I did look up on via tour cuz Viotor is a site that we always recommend because uh you can see loads of different tours that were available and uh you can also order book in advance etc. and you get like free cancellations and all that sort of stuff but uh most of them close October time and reopen like say February March. Uh there was one that left from Polish though that was running in January. There might be others but I got bored looking. So uh go on to the via site. There’ll be a link in the uh YouTube description. I would put a picture of the link in the text up uh in this film, but it would be too long. So you have to look into the description. I don’t think Henry’s working today, so I won’t be able to say hello. But uh very relaxed here at the moment. Pelican restaurant. Will we see cocoa? I’m probably getting pulled up on pronunciations. I tried to do my best. The latest ones are gyros apparently is heraldos or heroes. One person told me when another person told me to make sure it wasn’t the same person just using a different alias. Well, apparently it’s Hero as in Heroscopu. But my counter was Heroscopu is spelled with a G E where gyros is g Y saying hello. Nah, thanks. I caught when I’m filming. Now, if I’m filming and I have a drink along the way, maybe next will be a tour of the toilets. We’re still just assembling the uh stage. It’s a green pickup truck. And normally when they have the uh opera up there, they’ll keep the stage up as well afterwards for other productions. I’m wondering if there’s going to be a street festival in Cypus like there was in Pathos like there was last year cuz that was really good. Do hope so. It was kind of difficult to film because they were in so many different places, but uh just persevere and I got a better night camera as well. Now, there’s no action at the artisan market at the moment. It’s got a big padlock on it. Akamanta, yellow fever. Weird name for a boat. And there is the castle itself. It’s the perfect place to end actually. Actually, I’ll finish from a view of modern Aphrodite. Okay, hope you enjoyed that walk and I’ll see you in the next film. Cheers. [Music]

I was out and about filming this morning, and finished at the Sea Front and Harbour. In this film you can see the route from the top end by Tea For Two and Bania. We go down the Sea Front, saying hello to Fish Boy on the way, and arrive at the Harbour Area. The smell of breakfast is heavy in the air, though you won’t get that from the film. The cleaners were also in evidence, ensuring that the Sea Front remains at its best.

  1. Also well done to Pafos reaching the champions league play offs! Hope they do it!

Only slight annoyance with European football however is the thousands of fans that fly over and end up getting absolutely hammered messing the place up! The Pafos police will have to be on it!

  2. Lost count the amount of times we've walked along the sea front .
Superb quality makes watching even more enjoyable.
    Time and temp 👍👍

  4. The 'y' in 'gyros' is pronounced like the 'i' in the word 'ink'. The 'g' is like the 'g' in the word 'got' and the 'o' is pronounced like the 'o' in the name 'Olly'. Hope that helps 😜
