The Loire Valley brought us joy beyond belief as we visited its many châteaux and wine caves.
[Music] This is a good a day as they need to start the rebuilding. of life. The roads that lay open are many when the old ones gone under the knife. And I can feel the sun on my skin. [Music] Begin to fall from within. Yeah. [Music] Heat up here. [Music] Heat Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, I’ve just arrived in the L Valley in a beautiful little place called Amba. We drove into town and tried a camping car park which was filled. The campsite wouldn’t take Kagaka motor homes. So, we found an air just on the outskirts of town, which is very, very good. €6. No facilities, but fantastic location right on the Noir River. So, it’s not the best of days today, but we’re walking into the town. Um, going to have a look around the chat and on the way back, we booked a wine tasting tour. So, looking forward to that. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So nice. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] All right. So you are so you are 15. I just need to check because at every tour I lose one or two people. I condemn with some open bottle, deep the cedars, eat drunk. It can be ugly sometimes. All right. Ready to start? Yeah. Okay. Then here everything started in 1463. So very very long time ago at the 15th century. When Louis the 11th, the French king arrived here in Obis to live at the castle. He loved so much the local wine. They made some loaves to regulate the wine market. All the wine merchants had to sell first the one made in a l valet only after by the way the l valet it’s the largest wine region from France much bigger than bordo burgundy or champagne like to compare you can travel across Burgundy in like an hour and 30 minutes the valley takes more than 7 hours or for most of you come from the US it’s just like going shopping but for us 7 hours in Europe it’s a lot from here in 7 hours can be on Belgium Germany or Netherlands so completely and trees. This doesn’t [Music] with every rules come an exception. That’s why wine is so confusing. Okay. Uh now I will split. You don’t have to. We’ll taste six different wine. It’s about two centiliters per glass a day. Just like one glass of wine in a restaurant in the morning. Except if it’s your third tasting today. That should be fine. You can drive after. Okay. Oh, it feels now sweeter. Yeah. [Music] [Music] So, we walked into town this morning and had a wander around town and then went to the house where Da Vinci spent his last three years and that was really interesting. I loved all the scientific bits of it. Then we were booked in for a wine tasting tour and we went to caves, did a tour, had some tasting, bought a bottle of vu, and since it’s raining, decided just to have it tonight and a little bit of a snack in the van. Just a bit. So, yep. So, here’s Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. So, I’ve just left Ambassad um which was absolutely fantastic. We really did enjoy it there. Um we’re now on a short journey to Shimono and there’s a really really nice shadow there which we’re looking forward to seeing. So, let’s see what that brings. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So, we found ourselves It’s a fantastic camping car park here. Um, we’ve just filled up with water, dumped our gray waste, etc. We’re just going to now have some lunch and then the chateau is only 800 m away. [Music] Hello Mercy. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat [Music] up here. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So, we left the L Valley this morning and we’re heading on our way to the Dordine. We’re going to spend a few days with my sister and brother-in-law at their place in Belves. Um I’ve had a really good trip so far traveling down through Normandy from Sherborg um and into the L Valley. Um so yeah, today the the journey’s been really nice indeed. We’ve passed through some beautiful little villages um and um just the countryside, the horses and the cattle and some beautiful uh wheat fields and stuff like that. So yeah, it’s been a really nice journey today. Um this is probably a good time to end the first video in the series. Um and then we’ll move on from the door and move further east towards the the French and Swiss Alps.
