Ode to Sophia
by Mirian Sanches

Golden plains and blooming meadows,
mighty mountains, lofty trees,
talking flowers, grazing beasts,
sand, rock, grass – a vibrant feast!

Wandering clouds in skies so bright,
crushing waves in boundless seas,
dandelions swing in mirth,
Tropical forests evergreen.

Birds soar in precise flight,
inebriated butterfly,
frolic dogs play on ice,
black swans in paradise!

After a storm, a rainbow glows,
swiftly swept by freezing gales.
On the surface of the sea
overjoyed jumping whales!

Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring
The seasons’ merry-go-round.
In the crest of a sky afire
the glorious Sun forever inspires!

Still lakes, flowing rivers,
golden dawns and nightfalls,
a living poem, pulsing, birthing,
that’s the Great Mother of all!

  2. A tender and moving portrait of the beauty of our Mother in ephemeral glory. Thank you, Mirian, for this creative and sensitive collage, and thank you, George, for reawakening the memory of our agreement with our beloved Mother and Father.

  3. In beauty I walk

With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk

    It has become beauty again
    It has become beauty again
    It has become beauty again
    It has become beauty again

    Ancient Navajo prayer
