What is So Special About Walking on Broadway, Mahattan, NYC?

Well, Yar’s Tour fans, welcome to Broadway. It’s July 16th, 2025, and we’re on Broadway in a day when it’s about 92° and very sunny with a blue sky. A beautiful day for videoing. We’re going to walk south on Broadway, the great white way. Lot of signs. A lot of electricity in those signs. This is the welcome to NYC Kips. Cool. It’s supposed to feel like 104 today, but it’s not that bad. It’s the humidity that gets Look at the lights. Great white way. May go out tonight and do it at night. So, we keep asking, you want talking or no talking? You want me to shut up or keep talking? I know I’ve got a couple of people said, “No music, please.” Apparently, some people doing the same thing I’m doing. Play a lot of music. They don’t like music. I just like to walk. So, it’s good to be in the shade. Actually, I’ve told you previously whenever you see this little thing built over the sidewalk doing construction on the building that’s behind. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Behind us here. Behind this wall. This is famous Time Square. Lots of signs here. Book of the Mormon. That is that Broadway show is playing right next door to my hotel. How you got? He got This is Broadway and 42nd Street. There’s the famous place I keep telling about the ticket place where you get discount tickets. Go in two or three. Now, this is a Wednesday, so there’s mattes today at 2:00. It’s now about 12:00. This is the just the right time to go in and snag some tickets. So, let’s walk over and see what shows are available now and what they’re charging. Here’s what they have playing. They can shoot the same signs say it would be 10° cooler maybe in the cabaret. East or west seating. Have you ever appeared tickets? [Music] 46 Broadway and off Broadway. The difference between Broadway is you have more than 500 seats. Off Broadway is less than 500 seats and more than 100. What are the prices we have? Harry Sunset Boulevard is $140 tonight. as a and as a matinea it’s9 to $100. Book of Mormon is 80 it’s $80 to $170. Great Gatsby is $60 to $99. Aladdin at 2:00 is 93 to $106. Cabaret to tech lovers 74 to 94. Yeah, they do like cash. Harry Potter the church child tonight is 65 to 1060. Those are basically by the way kids half price shows operation mince me at 2:00 is 99 for $119. So, basically, if you come here, you can see a show for about between uh I’d say $70 and $100 per person. Pirates of Penzance Outsiders. Some of them are not giving much discount at all. And here’s off Broadway, which is cheaper. They’re not on Broadway and they’re smaller theaters, [Music] but you still see you see they’re mostly 48 to $55 for for either afternoon or evening. Bring cash. They like that the best. Spends easier. Going straight. I’m sorry. the other juniors is up here. In these high tourist areas, you can find lots and lots of pickpockets, too. Lots and lots of cameras, lots and lots of undercover police officers. They’ve closed off this whole thing. Broadway is walk around. Isn’t that great? Signs back in the day. fan shop for Nike. And there’s the line for tickets 2 hours before the show starts. So, you have to buy I actually recommend coming at 11:00 a.m. The line is a lot shorter. And then you buy your ticket at 11 on a matinea day, Wednesdays like this, and go out, have a nice lunch, couple of drinks, a steak, shrimp cocktail, and take a cab for your movie, for your show. But that’s just me. 20 though. So now most of these folks are probably out of town. I tell you that it’s this hot. You wouldn’t see a lot of New Yorkers hanging around except crazy ones like me doing videos for you guys. When people want to hand you something in New York or something’s free, a gift, don’t take it. Nothing is free. People look very warm today. I don’t know how much they walk. Cool. In the shade, I don’t know if it helps that much. The shake is going [Music] beautiful. I wonder how many watts each song uses. She wants to see what the guard [Music] building. He’s got that right. Comedy show, sir. cross the street. A lot of people here. You don’t like people. Everybody’s hot tonight. Crazy. Big styrofoam. Bubber company. How are you? Good. You ready? Hard Rock Cafe. White Hat is part their traffic enforcement office. They don’t carry guns. This side walked fully closed and blocked off. That’s very sad for me. Let’s see. We walk up the other side. [Music] There’s the subway. Time Square, 42nd Street. You get the N, Q, R, WS in the 1, 2, 3, and seven trains. Let’s see what we got here. That’s the construction they were doing. Guess they’re moving a brand new building or something. I do not know. This is where the tourists want to come when they come to New York City. Not know why, but this is where they want to come. People really work here anymore. don’t come here that often. But I know that you folks, you may be in I know some of my viewers are in Vietnam, Singapore, China, Japan, Philippines, Australia. You may not have a chance to come here that often, look around. So from your point of view, it’s a way of looking around without spending a substantial amount of your money on aircraft. I’m sorry.
