HELLO, I’M BACK VIDEO!
This is my hello video. I’m back. Hi there. I’m getting back into it. Hi there, everybody. Well, I’m back. Back in my workshop, I’m going to be doing a little bit of sewing. I’m going also take this cover off and take a look what happens when I change the selection dials on here. Like for the zigzag. I want to see what the the bars and the the controls in there do when I turn that selection switch to straight or zigzag or whatever. The other thing that I’m playing with today is getting back to the muslin jeans. And uh you can see I added 3 in on each side also at the top, but I took off 2 in on the bottom. So now it’s only about uh an inch longer than I need it to be. So that’s a couple of the things that I’m working on today. This video is just a a hello, I’m back video. and uh had a great time on vacation in southwestern Ontario, Canada. Met with my uh adult kids, my family, and uh my daughter’s partner. My daughter was recently engaged. She’s going to get married in August of 2027. And uh so that’s what I did while I was down there. Here’s some more muslin cloth. I’ve already uh washed it and edged it, but uh that’s all I have right now for cutting, so I might have to get some more pretty soon. And uh so that’s what I’m kind of up to. This is just a hello, how are you video, and I’m not really doing anything right now, but uh I did do a little bit I did show how I cut the 2 in off the the bottom of the the muslin jeans uh hem at the bottom of the leg here. So you might see that. No big deal. And these are the bottom of the pant legs. This is the the hem. And what I’ve done is I’ve cut 2 in off the bottom because when I cut this, I cut it 3 in too large all the way around. So I’m taking 2 in off the bottom hem and I may take some off the top or I may come back and take some more off the bottom, maybe another inch or something. But the reason I went 3 in was I needed to get more distance, more cloth on the sides because when I used the template that I have and I stitched them up in both in denim and in muslin, when I went to put either pair of pants on, they tore on the inseam and the outseam. They tore more on the out seam than they did on the inseam. So, that’s what I’m back doing today. And uh yeah, it’s been 20 days or so. And vacation was wonderful. Took the train to southwestern Ontario and uh did a whole bunch of stuff and then came back and was busy with all sorts of things here and a bit of relaxing too, I might add. But uh now I’m back into it. I’ve done a little bit of sewing this morning or earlier this afternoon actually cuz it’s afternoon now. and uh just to get warmed up using a sewing machine again cuz I hadn’t used it for over a couple of weeks and I really missed it. Anyway, I’m getting started. Thanks again for watching and uh it’s been almost 20 22 days since I last posted a video. So, it’s uh long gone past the time when I should uh post a video. So, on that note, have fun, stay safe, and we’ll chat soon. Adios amigos.
HELLO, I’M BACK VIDEO!
THE VIDEO AFTER THIS ONE WILL POST IN 4 DAYS. IN THE NEXT ONE I WILL GET INSIDE THE SINGER 4423 HEAVY DUTY SEWING MACHINE AND SEE HOW THE STITCH SELECTOR KNOB CHANGES THE STITCH FROM STRAIGHT STITCH TO ZIG ZAG STITCH, FOR EXAMPLE.
THE VIDEO AFTER TEH NEXT VIDEO WILL BE ABOUT CUTING AND STARTING TO ASSEMBLE THE LEGS, ZIPPER FLY, YOKE AND WAISTBAND. TO MAKE MY NEXT PAIR OF MUSLIN JEANS WILL PROBABLY BE 6 VIDEOS ALTOGETHER.
SO THAT WILL TAKE UP MOST OF THE NEXT 6-8 WEEKS OF VIDEO PRODUCTION.
AS A BEGINNER SEWIST I AM STILL APPRENTICING!
THANK YOU FOR CHECKING IN HERE. I APPRECIATE YOU SUPPORT! PLEASE LIKE & SUBSCRIBE TO HELP THE CHANNEL.
IN THE NEXT VIDEO I DO SOME MORE MEASURING & CUTTING. THIS TIME IT IS THE BACK LEGS. I ALSO WILL MEASURE CUT & MAKE THE ZIPPER FLY PARTS. ONCE THAT IS DONE I WILL BE ABLE TO CONNECT ALL 4 PANT LEGS TOGETHER AND SEW THEM. AT THAT POINT I WILL BE ABLE TO TRY THE PANTS ON & MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE LARGE ENOUGH TO PUT ON WITHOUT TEARING THE SEAMS. THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO FINISH THEM WITH THE YOKE WAISTBAND & PACKETS.
THAT IS THE PLAN.
HERE ARE “VACATION” NOTES!
AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL TIME! THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT, THERE WAS A COUPLE OF SHORT INTENSE RAINSTORMS;BUT IT WAS MOSTLY A SUNNY SUMMER WEEK! I HOPE YOU ALL HAD FUN TOO WITH YOUR STUFF!
SINCWE I SOLD MY CAR NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO I TOOK THE TRAIN FROM MONONTREAL TO LONDON, ONTARIO & BACK! I LOVE TAKING THE TRAIN! IT IS A LONG DAY, ABOUT 10-11 HOURS EACH WAY. BUT IT IS A LOT MORE ENJOYABLE THAN DRIVING ALONG THE QUEBEC 20 & ONTARIO 401! AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER (THE 25TH), I WILL HAVE A “DAYCATION” WHERE I TAKE THE TRAIN FROM MONTREAL TO QUEBEC CITY & BACK ON THE SAME DAY! I WILL DO THAT AGAIN ON OCTOBER 15, 2025. I STILL HAVE TO PLAND WHAT I WILL DO FOR THE 7 1/2 HOURS I WILL BE THERE EACH DAY!
SUMMER OF 2026 I WILL GO TO LONDON, ONTARIO AGAIN AS I DO EVERY YEAR! BUT I AM ALSO PLANNING A TRIP TO ST. PIERRE & MIQUELON WHICH IS ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTH OF NEWFOUNDLAND, CANADA BUT IT IS FRENCH, LIKE FRANCE FRENCH! I CAN FLY THERE OR TAKE THE TRAIN, AND THEN TAKE A FERRY1 BUT IT IS AN OLD COLONY OF FRANCE FROM WHEN THE FRENCH RULED PART OF CANADA AND THE U.S.! I’M REALLY HAPPY THAT I HAVE ALREADY 4 TRIPS PLANNED FOR THE NEXT YEAR!
ST. PIERRE & MIQUELON HAS AN AIRPORT SO YOU GUYS CAN VISIT THERE TOO. THEY USE THE EURO THERE AS WELL AS CANADIAN MONEY. AND THERE A LOT OF FOOD PRODUCTS IMPORTED FROM FRANCE ALSO. BECAUSE IT IS FRENCH TERRITORY, AIR ST. PIERRE ALSO FLYS TO PARIS, FRANCE.

I'm glad you are back. Have fun friend
Hi! Glad to see you are back. Just wanted to report back that I seem to have fixed the inconsistent stitches on my 4411. The problem was a Set Screw (M4x10B) (Part 9 on Page 10 in the parts list) on the Feed Crank (Part 9) was loose. I just tightened it with a screwdriver and the feed dog started working well again.
Also, I am inspired to upcycle some of my jeans and trousers because my machine is actually working well for the first time after I bought it in 2020. The first thing I am doing is converting a pair of parachute pants to a pair of barrel pants!
