リルシュルラソルグ、南フランスの美しい街のアンティーク市 / 蚤の市 / 南仏プロヴァンス / ブロカント / ヴィンテージ / Flea Market in l’isle sur la Sorgue

Hello everyone! This is Sayaka from quatre saisons. This time, my husband Matthieu and I visited the antique market held in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in August. This antique market takes place twice a year: Easter and around the 15th of August. First, we went to a café for breakfast. This is the breakfast we ordered. We were quite hungry, so we ordered quite a lot. He chose a croissant with raspberries. The croissant was freshly made and wonderfully crisp. It was absolutely delicious. I ordered a pistachio croissant. We also ordered banana bread. It had chocolate in it. It had been a long time since we last visited the summer flea market. For a while, it wasn’t held due to COVID, or was smaller in scale, but this time it was back to its usual size. Two gentlemen were carrying a large quantity of bread, seemingly heading somewhere. Large stone statues were also for sale. Even if you bought one, it would be quite a struggle to take it home. Our flat is small with no garden, so we have nowhere to put that kind of things. There’s a cute little donkey. There was a stork ornament. I’m 165cm tall, so it’s quite large! And the legs are so slender! This mushroom ornament? is cute too. I’d love to have one if I had a garden. This appears to be an antique shop. L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue has many antique shops too. There was a machine for weighing items. It gave the impression of being used in butcher’s shops and such in the old days. Is this bottle of alcohol for display, or is it intended to be drunk? Haha. This lamp is lovely, but considering where I could possibly put it in my cramped flat, buying it was difficult. I found a shelf I liked, but after thinking it over, I didn’t buy it because I simply have nowhere to put it. This stone statue appears to depict someone about to dive into a pool. This time, if I found anything cute, I also want some fabric. There’s a flea market inside the park ahead, so we’ll head there. I think the flea market in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorguee is a bit pricier than other markets. There are many plates. We are discussing whether the building in front of us is a bank and whether it is still in use as such. These plates were €5 each, not overly expensive. I found a plate with a pattern I like. I adore the combination of orange and green. That painting was lovely too. This plate was slightly similar to one I bought at another flea market recently. How charming! We remarked that there were no ducks on the river. They must go somewhere during the summer. This appears to be a painting influenced by Cézanne. (Though it is not fruit.) Lovely. It was a shop that had been there before, but I was surprised to see a red car parked here. Finding parking in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is tricky. If you arrive towards the end of the morning on event days or market days, it takes quite a while to find a spot. It’s a boat! It must have been hard work bringing it here. There were plates with patterns often seen in Belgium. It’s nice that there’s a river flowing through the town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. There are no rivers at all around Aix-en-Provence where I live (instead, there are fountains). We’re going to the flea market being held in the park. They were checking bags before letting people in. There was a shop selling lots of lovely paintings. It’s a very cute painting of a woman. This set of plates from Gien was marked at €15, but what exactly does that include? The painting above was €5, but the one below was €75. The flea market held in this park is lovely. There were places to eat within the park too! What I’m looking at is an old container that once held honey. The shape of the jar is rather lovely. A lovely nougat box. This nougat shop was founded in 1923 in the town of Lorient, but in 1978 the brand and equipment were sold to CHABERT & GUILLOT in Montélimar. Old biscuit tins are rather charming too, aren’t they! There were lots of moulds for agneau pascal, eaten in Alsace around Easter! There were also many kouglof moulds, so perhaps the Brocanteur here is from Alsace! The flowers painted on this wooden vegetable slicer were lovely. Though I wonder if this wooden item is safe to wash after use. These paintings were also very beautiful. There were many old signs. Each one is lovely. The designs on the old tins and boxes are so cute! This particular shop really caught my eye during this stay. It was full of treasures: clothes, fabrics, accessories, buttons, ribbons! I actually enjoy sewing myself (though I’m by no means skilled), so browsing sections like this at flea markets is one of my pleasures! I found something I liked, so I decided to come back later. Beautiful paintings are, as expected, rather pricey. (There was one more zero than I’d anticipated.) A figurine of the character for an Alsace beer brand. I wonder who buys that kind of things. I absolutely love finding treasures in corners like this, where items are marked €10 each. They looked like old Chinese or Japanese tableware. There were so many lovely patterns. It looks like a clock, but it feels slightly different. An old play kitchen set – how adorable! When a place is crowded, you can’t help but wonder what’s there and feel compelled to go and see. There was a plate with a truly lovely pattern. It seemed like the kind you had to buy as a set. What a huge key! I’d love to see the keyhole too. I’ve seen almost all the shops in the park. Now I’m heading back to the shop where I spotted something I was interested in. I bought this fabric. It was €30. I’m thinking of making a tote bag or pouch with it. This shop has such a wonderful selection of items that you could easily spend the whole day here without getting bored. The painting I first said was lovely in this shop was gone! I couldn’t forget the tableware I saw in this shop, so I came back. This box is also very cute. I debated buying both, but ended up purchasing just one. Most of the plates sold here were 5 € each, but one of the plates I bought was smaller and cost 4 €, making a total of 9 €. We visited the antique market in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. It wasn’t as crowded as I’d expected. Many foreign visitors were present too, showing just how popular this event is. Thank you for watching this video right to the end. See you in the next one!
