ES ESTA LA MEJOR BUSINESS CLASS DE EUROPA? NUEVO A350 DE AIR FRANCE
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. We are once again at Barcelona Airport, in the Pau Casal VIP lounge, from where we will fly today with Air France to New York with a stopover in Paris. We will fly from Barcelona to Paris aboard an Airbus 220, which is an absolutely fantastic aircraft, and then from Paris to New York on the Airbus 350, which is beyond words. By the way, they say the seat I’m flying in today, from Paris to New York, is one of the best business class seats in the world… we’ll see. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome once again to Last Call. I arrived at the airport quite early, as it’s early September and here in Europe, airports, particularly this one, tend to be very busy until school starts . But it didn’t help much, as we ended up leaving an hour and a half later than scheduled. At first, the delay was 20 minutes, then 40, and it stretched to an hour and a half. For this reason, I was also planning to do two reviews, one of this Airbus 220 and another of the Airbus 350 that would take me to New York, but since my connection in Paris was a breeze, I’m putting it all in one video. Truly, what a beautiful plane the Airbus 220 is; it’s absolutely incredible. Well, it’s 5 p.m., we haven’t boarded yet. Let’s see if we can take off at 5:30 p.m. with an hour delay. If not, my connection in Paris is going to be complicated. Boarding the first leg of this long journey on the beautiful Air France A220 registration F-HPNU. This is my third time on an A220. I think it’s an absolutely beautiful plane. It has a single aisle and a configuration of three seats on one side of the aisle and two on the other. Next to us is another Air France Airbus 220. They all arrived together. Three Air France flights were crammed in here due to weather delays in Paris. They just handed us mini-sized mineral water and another sanitizing wipe. Obviously, the huge advantage of flying in the two-seat row is that since the seat next to you has to be free, you travel with a lot of privacy. This is the lavatory, which is actually quite spacious, much larger than the one on the A320, for example. The only thing is that it doesn’t have any sensors, a button for the toilet, a button for the water , and no pedal for the trash can, so I like it, but I don’t like it. This structure in front of me also provides enormous privacy. I can’t even see the curtain of the front galley from here. The Air France service has begun. The main course is basically quinoa with vegetable ratatouille, some cheeses, and for dessert, a petit gateau. I don’t know what that is, but I ‘ll tell you. And some butter. Oh, it was salt and pepper. How cute. Inside a little box. We’re beginning our descent into Paris. We’re landing at the time I should be boarding for New York, so excuse me if I don’t pay much attention during the transfer. My flight is already boarding. I’m heading towards gates C/D, so I’ll board the last plane. You’ll all be looking at me with a sour face. Good afternoon. How many days in the United States, sir? Six. Okay, gentlemen, we somehow made it, and here’s our A350. I’m curious to see the cabin… The entire plane is already boarded, I don’t think I can show you too much. Anyway, we’ll see. Configuration with one seat on each side of the aisle and two in the middle. This is Premium Economy, but what I wanted you to see is, look at a regular seat, this is a regular seat, look at the footroom it has. And now I wanted you to see my seat, which has a small difference in space. What a wonderful seat. Okay, I’ll show you now. I’m going to tell you why this seat is different from the rest. The Air France business class cabin on this plane is divided into two sections, one from rows 1 to 9 and the other from rows 10 to 14. The first rows of each of these sections, i.e. row 1, seats A and L, which are the side seats, and row 10, seats A and L, are noticeably wider than the rest and, in fact, are some of the widest business class seats I have ever sat in. During boarding, the crew handed out the amenity kit, the dinner and breakfast menus, and the welcome drink, In my case, champagne, although there was also orange juice as a choice. As a starter, there’s a salad shared with all dishes. The main course can also be reserved just in case to guarantee its availability. The offerings were meat, chicken, salmon, and ratatouille, which is the vegetarian option. Afterwards, a cheese plate, and for dessert, a raspberry and lemon cake, ice cream, or sorbet. There’s also the option of an express dinner, which is everything but without the main course. And then there’s a buffet available for passengers throughout the flight, with some savory and sweet snacks. I wanted to show you this new mechanism that Airbus implemented, very similar to the one on the Boeing 787, right? This thing about not having a physical shutter, but rather an electronic one, but look at the speed and intensity of the shutter. This is the A350 lavatory, which is smaller than the A220’s, but unlike the A220. Look, there’s a sensor for the toilet, a sensor for the water, and I ask you please to look at this. A sensor for the trash can. I want to die! There’s a lot of light, but this is the amenity kit. It has black socks, a not-so-high-quality eye mask, a toothbrush, creams, earplugs, and most importantly, an Air France pen. The seat doesn’t have much storage space as such. Look, I have the menu here, the amenity kit, a blanket. You can even sit one person here. I mean, there’s plenty of space, but not storage space as such, since it only has that drawer and this very nice space with a mirror that has a water outlet and the entertainment system headphones. There’s a reading light here, a charging port; you put your phone here and it charges automatically, and two USB ports, one of them USB-C. More things: these slippers, this pillow, this black fleece blanket, and this mattress seat cover to put on the seat in bed mode are already arranged on the seat. Then, as a curiosity, they have this small tablet. Actually, let’s see it, from which you can control, for example, the seat positions, the lighting, and the entertainment system itself . See? There’s the live flight map. Anyway, interesting. And, of course, the closed suite door. This seat is impressive. I’m going to be staring at this until New York. Is that wrong? Dinner service begins with champagne I didn’t order, but they share it equally for everyone, and some cheese snacks. Well, dinner arrived. The starter, actually, is peas with goat cheese… green peas, as they’re called in some Latin American countries, a salmon fillet. I ordered white bread, butter, a green salad, the dressing, which is olive oil with balsamic vinegar, pepper, and salt, and French wine. Of course, there are only two French wines to choose from. I chose one of them. Everything was served on a platter, which I’m not particularly fond of, but it’s actually very well presented. Wait… isn’t the earth flat??? And my main course arrived, which is meat with a spicy carrot and mushroom flan. This is accompanied by grain mustard and this sauce, which I don’t know what it is, but it works. Sorry, I ordered the cheeses and I already ate the Comté, but anyway, these are the three. They insisted on this, and I accepted, which is easy… It’s a raspberry and lemon tart. Dinner service has just ended. Truly spectacular. We’re in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. In a couple of hours, we’ll be entering the northern coast of Canada, and in about five more hours, we’ll be arriving in New York. Look at this heavenly bed, I’d almost say, that the crew has set up for me. I’d love to try this bed on a flight to Latin America, for example, but hey, I have the possibility of using it for a nap on this short flight to New York. So, I’m going to close the door, relax, and if I get up, we’ll see each other at breakfast. Good morning. Indeed, I did wake up for breakfast. I had a wonderful two-hour nap. We’re an hour and a half from New York, and they’re about to serve breakfast. Sure enough, breakfast or whatever it was has arrived. I have it here, I think it’s the same one. Farro salad from the Barcelona flight here, although I’m not entirely sure, white bread, butter, fresh fruit. I ordered a glass of sparkling water and another with orange and carrot juice. They offered me coffee but I declined. I meant quinoa salad, not farro, but hey, at this hour and with a nap under my belt, you’ll understand. A towel at the end. How grateful I am for this. See that blue effect up ahead? That’s the front light reflecting off the clouds. We’re passing through clouds. Disembarking at JFK, 4:30 a.m. European time, around 10:30 p.m. in New York. Well, everything’s bad, my suitcase didn’t arrive, a big problem, so I’m going to sleep, I’m going to rest a bit, I’m not going to make any rash declarations, and tomorrow I’ll tell you how this flight with France went. It’s very fast for you too. Look. I’ve arrived in New York City, which I don’t like to come to but I come to a lot. My suitcase hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m going shopping right now because I don’t have any more clothes to wear. Aside from that, the A220 is a beautiful Air France plane, beautiful. If you travel in Business class and choose the two-seater, you’re alone. If you choose the three-seater, you’re sitting next to someone with the middle seat empty. It’s not a big deal, but hey, this allows you to be truly alone, right? And on the A350, the seat is absolutely fantastic. It’s true that I got one of the four seats in a 48-seat cabin, so your chances of getting that seat are less than 10%. In any case, it’s a seat that opens up at check-in and they don’t charge you anything extra for it, unlike the Lufthansa suite, which in my opinion is a much better seat than this one, although this one is a fabulous seat, but of course, the Lufthansa suite does have a significant additional cost. So, all in all, after the Lufthansa suites, I don’t know of a better Business Class seat than any of these four, the two in row 1 or the two in row 10 facing the windows on the Air France A350, truly exceptional seats. The excellent food, a classic Air France experience, is always very strong in this regard. The crew simply did their job, with a very distant friendliness, which doesn’t matter to me, but someone might. It was like, “Yeah, okay, I’m fine with you. If you need a smile, I’ll give it to you, but nothing from the heart, so to speak. They’re about to rob me of my phone… No, okay. My flight to Paris left Barcelona late. The connection was on time, but there was an hour between my arrival and the departure of the flight to New York, and in that hour, which is a long time to me, they didn’t get my bag on board. Let’s say, I’d give it a 9 overall for having lost my bag, I’d give them an 8. I send everyone a big hug, see you next time. Bye!

Hacía tiempo q no te veía.
Saludos desde Martinez, Bs As .

Abrazo!!
