Vietnam Motorbike Adventure Gets Wild! Ep.16
Good morning and welcome back to the Vietnam motorbike trip. Today we’ll be going to let me look at the map here. Bakan. We already got my hotel reservation. Should be a waterfall just out of the city here. So look forward to seeing that. It’s going to be about 140 kilometers. The weather is finally warming up. So I might actually not wear my jacket today. Be the first time in a while. We’ll see how long that lasts. It’ll probably rain now that I’ve said that. I probably jinxed myself. Anyway, I’m going get the bike packed up, hit the road, and I’ll see you at the waterfall. We have got the bike fueled up, loaded up. We are 12 kilometers from uh All right, should be coming up to the waterfall here shortly. [Music] I’m good seeing it right here. We see a video of the waterfall. A video of me taking a picture of the waterfall. Let’s get back on the road. [Music] [Music] [Music] Wow. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Woohoo! [Music] [Music] hand forward. [Music] This area seems to be popular with uh growing strawberries. See lots of literal signs indicating struggle this nice little fun road. Oh, look at that. Look at that. I think that’s all strawberries or something. It’s not all the same thing. I’m glad I got my visor down cuz uh been having bugs bang off my face shield all day. [Music] Do you love [Music] you? [Music] What a road. Pretty pretty. It’s nice little view right here. [Music] Not too bad. Still hazy though. Still very hazy. [Music] The springs in these rice fields is just doesn’t get old. [Music] [Music] Okay, we’re about uh 2 and 1/2 km away from the ferry. See the lake as we come around the corner here. Uh there’s nobody sort of gatekeeping. So I don’t know if you pay on the ferry or what. We’re going to find out. [Music] He’s [Music] [Music] on my way back. [Music] The ferry ride was 5,000 Vietnamese. No, there’s 25,000 to the dollar. So, it was uh somebody do math. Is that uh 20%. I mean 20%. Uh yeah, it is 20%. But uh so it’ be 20 cents. So [Music] do the couch All right. So, I don’t know if you heard me. That was I’ll say it again. You can listen to it twice so that way you know. But it was 55,000 Vietnamese to go to the crossing. Me and my motorbike. That’s about 20 cents US. Not a bad deal at all. Nice little break to it. [Music] Get a a soda here. Let me get one on the platter. Locations, everything, [Music] little uh places to get snacks, waters and stuff. So, anyway, I got a like a a canned iced coffee or it wouldn’t be iced coffee, but you know, a can of cold uh coffee drink. I got a Fanta or a Vietnamese equivalent to the Fanta and I bought every banana evidently she had. I did that for about a 125. [Music] Oh yeah. [Music] The sign said back in this I’m in the major metropolitan area. Little sleepy town. [Music] Let’s still have 3 kilometers here. [Music] This is a motorbike parking. Okay, I got all checked into the hotel. The Paris back in and it’s a really nice little spot. I got a second floor room and can see the uh courtyard with a little pond and there’s koi in there. Nice little area. Got a secured mocha uh motorbike parking uh little storage area. which I’ve decided every place that has that must put a a ramp at a very high angle or down angle. But uh right there is the ramp. It don’t look that steep right there, but trust me, it’s a be at least in second gear in the bike. I got got a little uh little place to have a drink, sit there out by the water. It’s fantastic. Anyway, my room is right down here. I haven’t checked the bed yet. So, uh, I’ve already put my stuff in here, but we ain’t done the bed check yet. So, this is the room. Walking in. Always got the little uh slippers for you. And a lot of time they uh they don’t fit. Anyway, let’s put the card in the Okay. Okay. Turn that off. Okay. It’s the bathroom. Wet bath. Typical, but nice. It’s quite the fancy toilet there. Actually got two beds in case a guest shows up. Yeah. Oh my crap. Hey, there’s the password. More times than not, that is the password at hotels. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. They ain’t overthinking that. Okay, here we go. It’s the bed check. Oh, that’s nice. That’s nice. That’s nice. Last night was pretty good. Uh, not the greatest bed, but much better than the previous night. That’s even better than last night. So, that’s a good start. Let’s check the uh the little uh rollway bed here. Not terrible. I mean, not terrible. It’s It’s actually more comfortable than the bed two nights ago. I I would I would have traded that in a heartbeat, particularly if I could took the mattress off and set on the bed. Anyway, I’m going to get all cleaned up. Probably find me something to eat. Today was an excellent ride. Some very uh nice uh twisty roads, pretty good pavement. I knew it was going to be I could tell by the the time it told me in the distance it told me that it was going to be a very curvy road. You can always get that. That means you you’re not going to go that fast. Anyway, it seems like after the ferry that I followed the lake or reservoir or whatever it is for a very long time. I came out the other side and just literally far followed the edge of the lake for a long time. So anyway, it was a very nice ride and tomorrow supposed to be a much shorter day up to the hot springs. I’m going to check out the hotel options there. I hear there’s not many, so we’ll see how that works out if I actually end up going there or not. I really want to take like a rest day and do the hot springs, but you know, hey, if there’s no place to stay and no place to eat, there ain’t really much you can do about that.
