First Time in Marburg, Germany 🇩🇪 | My Fairytale Uni City
[Music] We just walked 10 m from the car to here. Yeah, sure. [Music] I’m back in Marborg. I’ve been living here for 10 years. And today I going to show them where I lived, how the city is, and in the end we will see if they like it or not. She’s just so big. Does anyone want to take mommy a picture? Bab, we just walked 10 m from the car to here and it took us 15 minutes because you want to make a picture non-stop. Yes. If the view neck is my beautiful like this little get ready. It’s just a green tree. Here picture in front of the green tree. That’s the Fri Club. I came here a lot for relaxing. And right there you have what was the name? Friedri. It’s a pretty hipster cafe. When it’s really hot, the people are lying around here. You want to jump inside, Leia? Now I have to same my tooth come out now. See I take every like five step we out of the car until here. I never have a picture yet. Not at all. Not even one picture. I take a million but not. You want to say I do it bad. You really want to say I do it better. What? Now we are here in the Frankfurt Estrasa. That’s like kind of the main road here in the southern quarter zut fert of Marborg. And here we find a lot of coffees, bakeries, bars in a beautiful surrounding looking like that with all the beautiful alleys here. I really missed it walking here on the lan grounds. Don’t know how to call them in English. Lan vis. She likes walking as well. Yeah. Here at at the house back in the days, someone killed someone here in front of the house door or here at the bicycle stands. I don’t know. Like a girl killed another girl because they are fighting over a guy. Stupid. [Music] One of the many bridges to cross the river here. So slow. It took us 30 minutes to arrive here, which is normally a a walk of 5 minutes. You will have the iconic shot of the city. Their love must be real. I’ve never seen a lock huge like that. That’s the cafe. You can drive the paddle boat and have a drink or some food or just hang out here. That here is another beautiful spot in Marborg. You can walk a little bit in the river. That was one of my favorite places here. Having a beer and just relaxing here. Oh, she want to go inside lock. It looks like that when she’s taking a break. A few moments later. This is how the cafe is looking from above or the beer garden. And now we are heading up there. So far you walk 3,000 3,000 steps low. It’s a lot long. Yes. At home I never walk so much like this. You will take the motor bike for 10 bottles to just sit and drink the beer. That building here is the old university. I think the first Protestantian university in Germany or even more. I don’t know. You can look that up. And this is how you go up here by the elevator or you take the stairs. But if I ask you if she want to take the stairs, you know the answer. Leah, you want to take the stairs or the elevator? Elevator. Elevator. Uhhuh. Okay. Mommy, you want to take the stairs or the elevator? Of course. Inside the elevator. So, here you can have a quick view. That’s it. I’m scared. Actually, they have a another elevator further down the street. There you have a better view. But it’s also cool. Small city, 90,000 people. I guess we came from down here. Good advertisement. How tired are you? So nice. [Music] That’s the upper town. Super busy, super crowded with the town hall and like you can see a lot of coffees. Fine. Get up first. You get up first. Get up. Get down. Get up. Get down. By. Who will get up first? Me. Yellow. Uhhuh. Okay. Up. Leah. You just you cannot lazy. Sure. I will make a video of you nonstop. You know, if she runs, you have to run with her. On the left is a cool bar. Picture, video, picture. Mine tamay of course it’s good I do it good mine not at all so basically you can walk up here to the castle which we are not going to do because she’s lazy and she’s super lazy and the green building here is a another cool students pup Bab, I don’t remember the name of the street here, but I was drunk a lot here. Three times per week. Are you a fan of it? I’m not going to do that. So, and the brother Scrim studied here. So, you have all the statues here of their fairy tales around the city. That’s the forkunic frog king. Yeah. Why the floor is sand? That’s another statue or site from the brother’s grim. The wolf and the six uh I don’t know the wolf and the seven gueline. I don’t know what that’s in English. And like I told you before, you will have them all around the city. And now we are heading for some food. And here you have the beautiful Katzabah. That’s another part of the city. And basically down this road I was living that time. My third apartment. And here you can see the beautiful Elizabeth Church. I’ve never been inside actually, but outside they have a beautiful Christmas market. This part of the city is called Marbach. Pretty nice. A little remote, but downtown as well. And yeah, now we are heading to eat in the famous zoo house. It’s a student bar, which was super cheap when I started here, but right now the prices are of course up. Now you pay €11 for a schnitle. And back the time when I started it was €6. So it’s almost doubled. But let’s see if it’s still good. She like to walk same like you do. Yeah. Look at my face. How can I bring my mood back now? Walk walk 10,000 stick today. Let’s see if they can do it together. [Music] That’s another instance here in Marbrook Ola plots. You can have some free beers for the evening or even after beers, whatever you want to have. And now we are walking back to our car and then that’s it for our Mar adventure. It wasn’t too long because we just went through like on our way home. How do you like it? Yes, I love it so much. It’s really nice castle out there. You haven’t even walked up there? I do. So far, 10,000 step. Just look at the beautiful city here. Love it. But you haven’t been at the castle. Really? Yes. The castle is on the top and of course there are more beautiful spots in Marberg but I cannot show them all to you. So this is now up the spigel storm. You have a beautiful view over the city and yeah like I said we just have a 2-hour stop here on our way home. So that’s it. Enjoy the views. Visit the city. It’s beautiful city. Go on in the car. Yes. And I have to deal with that one here. So this is why short outros, short movie. I want to go picture. You want to do more pictures? Uh-huh. Okay. This next more more more and more pictures. More and more jumping. More and more Leah. And then it will get too

Marburg, Germany is one of the most beautiful university towns in Europe – and today I’m taking you on a walking tour through my old hometown. I lived and studied in Marburg for 12 years, and in this video I’m showing my family Marburg for the very first time. Together we explore the charming old town (Oberstadt), walk along the Lahn River, and climb up to the iconic Marburg Castle with its breathtaking view over the city.
If you are planning to visit Marburg, this video will help you see what makes this German city so special. We’ll pass through cobblestone streets, historic half-timbered houses, and the same paths where the Brothers Grimm once walked. Marburg is often called a fairytale city, and after watching this walking tour you’ll see why.
Whether you are a traveler, a future student, or just curious about Germany, this Marburg travel guide shows you the highlights and gives you a feel for the atmosphere of the city. Discover why Marburg, Germany should be on your travel list and why it remains one of my favorite places in the world.
