Let’s do a day trip from Paris today We are at Paris Austerlitz station We are going to take the train to Nantes It’s still early It’s quiet Today, it’s going to be really hot in Nantes Hotter? Hotter than Paris Our train is at 7 AM We are following everybody to the train platform I am travelling today with my dad and mother in law It’s weird to travel with only both of them Because of the language barrier they have But I am happy that I can bring them to this journey Car 6 6 We are taking Ouigo train to Nantes It’s convenient and have good price He seems happy Ladies and gentlemen, please note that booking tickets are mandatory for this train Only ticket from Ouigo are valid We will stop at … … And Nantes the last stop We’ll ask all the accompanying passengers to get off the train The passengers that did not buy ticket Or did not have time to buy tickets kindly make yourself known to the employee of the train Ladies and gentlemen, we wish you a good installation It’s so relaxing travelling by train Take the time to see the landscape We are always in continous movement in our life Let’s change place It’s easier For once, outside is moving, inside we are still Our mind slow down To listen our inner self Today, I took a big bottle of water Too hot the journey is longer with the classic train It takes 4 hours to reach Nantes With the express one you can arrive there in 2 hours It’s going to cost a little bit more We did not get bored and already arrive to the destination Hello Nantes A new adventure begins A new city unlock for parents To the right Here there is an airport? Yes it’s big Rennes there isn’t? There is the botanic garden But we will go later this afternoon before taking back the train I think We will come back around 5.30 pm before taking back the train Mother in law thinks that Nantes station looks ancient Take a picture, just in front of the station It’s hard Okay, I managed The building there is the Lieu Unique
It was the LU biscuit factory in the old time. In this city you can actually follow this green line on the ground to visit the major attractions The green line Oftentimes in the garden you will find a place to refill your water for free It’s the Cathedral Saint Pierre and Saint Paul But in construction so cannot see inside We continue to visit the city Following the green line I wonder where is the start of the green line… It’s a genius idea don’t need to check gps Will we be able to find restaurant like this? We are hungry You can go to Galerie Lafayette for luxury shopping There is one in Paris very beautiful inside It’s rare to see roof like on building now We call it Maison à pan de bois We stumble upon this non touristy church We go inside for a quick visit Then move on to our day There are many restaurants nice like this Very cute We found our restaurant It serves galettes We took 2 bowl of cider One dry and one sweet Do you have a prefered one? We have 2 galette with mushroom, eggs with nantaise salad And I have more special one with cream and salmon You have seats upstairs too And nice view We want to see more of this city There is a coloful village we want to go The famous Isle of Machines we want to see as well It’s the only place where you can find Jules Verne’s ‘invented worlds’ The streets are large and clean It’s pleasant to walk here Window shopping for us The giant galette is 7,40 euros The plain one is 6,20 euros This passage is one of the most beautiful in France Naturally we are going to cross it It’s something, right? Passage are always beautiful but this one is definitely particular Back on the street with the green line It’s during the weekday and it’s already dynamic There are many things to see This is a theater A massive central place We are going to take a small boat to go the colorful village On the way you see these crooked buildings I wonder how it’s like to live inside This is one of the oldest tall ships that sailed around the world This is a sea vessel I think We arrive at the ferry terminal We are here, we’ll take the boat and do that Oh boat only here Yes This is for subway Or the tram You have a boat every 10 minutes It cost 1.80 euros for 1 hour It can be slippery when going down It’s not too big, enough to take all the passengers You can buy ticket on board like me Then validate here The boat is free on weekends It’s nice but a little bit too sunny to stay out I am just going to see a little bit then going back inside It’s convenient to be able to cross the river like a normal transportation It reminds us of Hong Kong or Thailand Have you seen this kind of transportation elsewhere? We’d love to read your experience Even though we have only day here, we can take our time Not rushing I have a plan of visit but it’s adaptable to the situation It’s a sunny day and I am with old people The most important thing is that they are having fun And not too tired for them We are welcome with this first colorful house, orange one It’s quiet, not many person coming here to see the village It’s like we are visiting a residential area Parents were not surprised by this They are a little bit disappointed As it’s really quiet And only few houses are beautiful This village is called Trentemoult Nonetheless it’s still a nice stroll We are trying to get lost in this area Small village It’s true. It’ very small What do you think? There are some cute restaurant bar by the river Apart from that there are not much to see We can already go back to the ferry It was the shortest visit ever We can use the same ticket as before As it was less than 1 hour Back on the land, we are going to see the machines Just need to cross the bridge The great elephant is here Not working cause it’s week day It has to rest for the weekend activities If you have time you can visit it Can be interesting for kids For us, we’ll see the art of Nantes, like this basket tree This is definitely the highest carousel I saw Children can choose an inventive machine to ride Another art of the planet and machine construction there Look like our planet This massive construction crane is also an art My mother in law thought it was a joke when I told her that It’s just we don’t understand the story behind it My dad stayed at the elephant spot to rest Not easy to walk under the sun And I know he won’t really enjoy this art walk Do your parents like this kind of activities? Baby trees has to grow up quick We need you Today we walked a lot We are heading back to the castle Anne de Bretagne to see the water mirror We can see this is the spot for a hot day like this Free refreshment With a magnificent view We have one more major place to go before taking the train to Paris It’s near the station It’s the botanical garden It’s a major place because you can observe art with nature inside And also one of the four major botanical gardens in France It’s also a great way to end our visit day in Nantes So the green line start from here ?
