Our BEST Train Adventure Across Indonesia!

And this is why we’re so excited for this train. For the past 3 weeks, we’ve been taking trains across the island of Java, starting in Jakarta, then Bondong, and then now we are in Yoga Carta. We’re taking another train today to get to Suraya. And this might be the coolest train yet. Yeah, I think this is the train that I’m most excited for and I’ve been most looking forward to and I’m happy we’re saving it for the end and it’s our last train across Java. Same. Abby did all this research and I think we’re in for a treat. We are all packed up and we are now heading to the train station because I think we get a lounge like we did with the one on the way to Vendong from Jakarta. Is that when we have a lounge? I think so. I think so. So, we’re going to head there now. Our grab’s going to be here in 2 minutes. Let’s go. Let’s do it. Literally as we’re about to walk out, it starts to rain. So, we’re gonna have to n like as we open the door, it started raining. The rain is so unpredictable in Java, it’s ridiculous. So, Abby is going to be on umbrella duty and I’m taking the suitcases. All right, let’s try to navigate this. And just as soon as the rain started, it stopped. So, we are now on the way and it’s not raining. You know where we’re supposed to go? Ticket counters is my guess. Where’s that? I don’t know. Follow the signs. All right, I see it. Okay, I think this is where we put in our information for our ticket. Do you have that? I do. Okay, here’s our ticket. So, type in the code. So this is the code right there. Okay. That that’s the code. Yellow. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Oh, there we are. Wow. So easy. Wow. Cool. All right. Simple, but it works. Let’s go see if we can get into this lounge. Let’s go. [Music] Hello. Okay, tickets worked. Yeah, it’s been 2 seconds and they’re already crinkled. I think this is the craziest station cuz you have to cross over the platform. I know. It feels dangerous. I know. Like there’s not even like guard rails or nothing for these platform three. I think that’s the lounge we get to go in right there. Where? Right over there. Let’s try it. I was going to say we’re going to be the first ones on the platform. Wow, this is nice. Hello. Hey, thank you. Wow. All right. Where should we sit? That’s up to you. I don’t mind. Logan, they have an office room even, so you can take meetings. Should I? That’s okay. Are you You’re not taking any meetings, right? No. Dang. We even have complimentary tea and snacks and food. [Music] This is nice so far. Really nice. This actually is like closer to an airport lounge than I was expecting. And it’s nice cuz like this place doesn’t have AC, but this lounge does. We’re sitting right in front of the Perfect. Okay, I’m going to check out this food. See what else they got. Wow. Okay. Like some type of soups wrap. Wow. M dessert. [Music] Okay, this is way nicer than I was expecting. I’m very excited for this train ride if this is what the lounge is like. Okay, this is lemonade and watermelon. And I have no idea what this juice is. [Music] I’ve had it before. Grape juice, I think. No, some type of fruit. I don’t know, though. But I’ve had it before. It’s really good. Wo! The watermelon lemonade. So fresh. You have to try this. This is nice. I feel spoiled again. One thing that we have, well, one thing that I have found to be very true about the Indonesian trains is that it’s very hard to find information about any of them. Um, and I had done my research, like I had to do hefty research, watched a bunch of YouTube videos of other content creators that have gone across Indonesia. um doing like the train system, seeing what trains they booked, how they did it, um the names of them, what stations because there are only certain trains that go to certain stations. If you want to take certain trains like the panoramic train, including this train, it goes to certain stations only. So, it goes from this station to the Suraya like I I’m not going to be able to pronounce it, but this is the name of it. And so you have to book them specifically and like the tiers won’t tell you what all is different about them. And so I had to go read on like Reddit and forms and Reddit is actually banned here in Indonesia. So we have thankfully a NordVPN. So we were able to VPN and go kind of read more in depth about things on Reddit. So, I’m hoping that this video makes these like four last videos or three last videos that we’ve made about the trains makes it a little bit easier for people traveling across Indonesia that maybe want more of a unique train experience than just like your regular train. Um, so I hope that these help. I’ll put the links in the description where we booked and how we booked it. So, if you want to do something similar, go ahead and click in the link description and I hope this helps you. Another thing that we could not find any information on was whether they actually weigh your luggage. It was they all say about 20 kg per person. We are definitely over that, but they have yet to weigh any luggage and this is our third train. So, not to say they won’t, but if you are worried about it, odds are they’re not going to. I don’t even see a scale around here. But if there are any other questions that you have regarding these trains, please throw it in the comments below and we’ll get back to you because yeah, like Abby said, it is near impossible to find specific details on these trains. It is really nice being able to get here an hour early and chill at a lounge because I’m able to respond to some comments on YouTube and Logan’s able to get some work done. So, very chill start to this day. Our train just pulled up. It is 12:30 and we leave at 12:50. So, we’re going to go check it out and go relax on the train until it takes off. I’m so excited. Why is the train leaving? I don’t think that’s us, Logan. Well, I hope it’s not. We had the wrong train. We got pretty excited. That’s not our train. It’s about 10 minutes away and it’s the same platform. Should we just sit out here and wait? I hope that’s not our train. It’s definitely not our train. All right, we have confirmed our train is next. We did not miss our train. Logan is a little nervous there. You never know when you travel. Okay. When a train is coming, they do have people standing there blocking. So, it’s not as dangerous as we think. Okay. So I think we are down here at the back of the train trying to find where we go. So hope we don’t miss our train for dillydallying on the platform. We made it luggage. Oh, we have way too much luggage for trains. Oh, there it is. Compartment sweet. [Music] I’ll come back for the other one. I can get it. Here you go, Logan. Yeah. Put your suitcase in the link. Oh, perfect. Okay. And this is why we’re so excited for this train. Abby did a good job. This is awesome. We’ve never traveled anything like this. We can’t afford it you usually, but we can afford it here. Okay. This train has so many features. I don’t even know where to begin. Like, I haven’t even gotten to discover all of the features on this train so far. But as I’m looking around, I have like my own screen here. I have my own headphones in this bag. It’s like audio tech. They’re like over theear headphones. Really nice. Like squishy and comfortable. I also have my own control for lights and a fan. So, I have like my own control for my air in here. There are plugs everywhere for you to charge anything you could need. The air conditioning is great on this train. It’s so nice so far. [Music] I still can’t believe we have our own compartment to ourselves. This is insane. And like the more I’m looking at everything, the more features I’m seeing. Like I have my own call button to call someone. Um, back here is like a light dimmer. So I can dim my lights that are like these ones up here. So I can turn these on or off. That is so nice. So like if I want it Oh, there goes Logan. I’m going to bed. It work. [Music] There you go. Okay. So, what’s really nice is we don’t have to sit here and guess what all the features are. The uh lady just came by that works on the train and instructed us on how to actually work these chairs because they are so high tech. So they actually have a remote that comes out and up and you can control the entire chair by this remote. The footrest goes out completely. The back goes back completely. You have a massage on this chair. You can rotate this chair 360°. They actually came around and gave us warm towels to clean our hands with and a welcome drink. They took our order. We get a starter with croissant. I ordered tea. You can also get coffee. And then they had four main dishes. They were all um meat. So I just said, “Can I get mine without meat?” And they’re able to accommodate for that. So I’m very excited about this train. It’s very accommodating. To close the window, it’s also buttons. So as I’m pressing that button, this comes down and you can stop it. And then the remote controls all the lights so I can turn them off and turn them back on. They also offer blankets um to keep you warm, which we’re quite warm right now from getting on the train, but I have a feeling I’ll be wanting the blanket a little bit. We also have our own little trash can in here. I feel like I’m in like my own little like mini apartment. And then the tray actually is here. You push the armrest back, push that in, it comes out, pull it up, and just simply fold it out like genius. This train is so high tech. Perfect. Oh, your speed. Perfect. We can’t see your meat. We just got served our first course. This has got to be the most comfortable that we have ever traveled. I would hate to get used to this because I know first class flights are super expensive, but I can see the appeal that this is insane. We’re getting treats from all over the world. They got us some good juice. We have some Audio Technica headphones on. And now we just get to sit back and relax for the next 3 hours. Abby Hail. [Music] [Music] They didn’t have anything vegetarian, but they did have potatoes, carrots, and green beans. with it looks like the spicy peanut sauce. And then Logan gave me his pineapple and egg tart. So, it’s only a three-hour train ride, so I’ll survive. My food just came and I got the classic nasi. Has a recommendation from them. There’s some other dishes as well. Mostly chicken on here. Abby, did you tell them what you got? Oh, yeah. Abby got vegetables, so she’s all set. So, we’re happy. I’m going to start digging in. First bite. They do have this tray. But it’s a little low. You can move your tray closer to you. M. Is it good? Oh, it’s spicy. This spicy. She said it was spicy. She said a little spicy. You know what that means in Indonesia? It’s always so spicy here in Indonesia. This is good. And not too spicy. It’s not bad. M. That is what smells fishy. It’s almost like it’s some leafy green, almost like a chard or something, but it tastes like straight fish, which is usually all right. But [Laughter] this side dish, what is that? Great chilies. Oh, really? I don’t know what this is. Oh, I don’t know if there’s meat or not in the spice sauce. My eyes are watering. I do good with spice, but that was It’s straight chili. Got you. Like I think I I took a little bite like 10 seeds. Wow. Still good. It’s this Abby that smells like fish. M. You’re like, Mine’s pretty good, too. It’s just vegetables. I have no idea what this sauce is. I need to ask. Let me see. I thought it was a peanut spicy sauce. It’s not. That’s what I would have guessed. There’s mushrooms in it. Ooh, I know. I don’t know if it’s vegetarian or not, but I had a bite. You’re going to ask? Yeah. All right. I just don’t want to get sick. It does taste good, though. Well, hopefully it’s not. We’re going to dig in. They just brought out my tea, so I decided to go with something that wasn’t caffeinated cuz we do have to try to get some sleep when we get back to the Airbnb that we’re staying at. And this is really cool. This is the sugar that comes with the tea. It’s like crystallized little sugar cubes. So, I just get to drop these in and watch them melt. This is going to be so cute. I honestly feel so spoiled on this train. This 3 and 1/2 hour train ride is not going to be long enough. However, I do have to say I would not get the sweets that we did, the sweet one A and 1 B. I would probably get like three, four, five, potentially even six just because we are right next to the train door and it’s really loud where I think it would be quieter up there. Um, but still can’t complain too much. This is so luxurious. Oh my god. Do you hear that? Hi. Can I get a blanket? Of course. Yes. Thank you. Yes. Thank you. I have an issue asking for things and pressing buttons and someone coming to wait on me. I don’t like it. Thank you. Massi. Oh my god. This is like a quilt. Oh, and it’s warm. This is weighted. This is nice. Okay, maybe I changed my mind. Huh? Maybe I changed my mind. And it smells perfect. All right, good night. This is so nice. This is like a weighted quilt that’s warm. Oh, this is unbelievably comfortable. Oh my god. Spoiled. I don’t know whether to watch my movie or watch the view. All right, so I have to use the restroom. So, we’re going to go check out and see what this bathroom looks like and see if it’s any better or different than the other trains we’ve been on. Definitely the fanciest train bathroom I’ve ever been in. This is so nice. There’s like a hand dryer, automatic sink with like a marble countertop, automatic soap dispenser, bedet controls. The toilet is super clean. It smells good in here. And there’s disposable toilet seat covers. This is a nice bathroom. But now it’s time to try to make it back to my cubicle without falling over because this train is very rocky. Wow. Yeah, the suites up here that are like suites 5, 6, 7, 4, 3. Much quieter than 1B and 1 A. It’s very nice to have Wi-Fi on the train, too, because we can sit here and get some work done and in privacy, which is nice, and it’s quiet. Put headphones on. This is noise cancelling, so like you are focused on your work. you’re not distracted by everything around you and you’re comfortable. Like, I literally cannot emphasize how amazing this train is. And the craziest part is for two tickets, we got this for $165, which is a steal for us from the United States. Like, there’s no way we could afford this in the United States. So, this is a huge treat for us. [Music] We are just leaving our second to last stop on this train. We are the last stop on the train, which is nice. So, we know where to get off. Like, we don’t have to guess. But I do have to say I am not ready to get off this train. I could definitely be on this train for like another 5 hours. This is so comfortable. [Music] We are packing up right now and putting away everything in preparation for us arriving at the train station. I have a feeling we’re going to be arriving here in the next like 15 minutes. Logan, how was working on the train? It was awesome. Honestly, if you ever get a chance to do anything like this and you can swing it financially, I say do it. We wouldn’t spend hundreds of dollars on this, but would you say it was 150? 165. 165. It’s not too bad. It’s a good experience. It’s peaceful. Uh but also, if you’re on a budget, the rest of the train is probably fine. What’s nice is they actually just came by and gave us a 15-minute warning about how the train is going to stop in about 15 and brought us another warm towel. I’m going to use it before it gets cold this time. Ah, you got the towel. It was warm. That’s what I said. Oh, did you? Smells like lemons. So fresh. [Music] We made it, Logan. Turn my light back on. Yay. All right, let’s go check into our Airbnb. Let’s go. Our bags came out with these cute little tags. How adorable. All right, in a brand new city. We’re not exploring today because it’s like 3 hours past our bedtime. So, we’re going to get checked in. Hopefully get right to sleep. [Music] Now, it’s not raining here. Oh, Java. I’m looking weird, but I’m just fixing myself. I’m not this short. Imagine if I was though. It’d be all right. a little short thing. It’s actually uh I am so happy we did that. That’s probably the fanciest mode of transportation we’ve ever taken. Could you imagine if that’s how we like flew? Yeah, that was about it. That’d be cool. [Music] Okay, the front door man said that’s not the front door that we go into. We have to go around the side. This is some smooth concrete. It is very smooth concrete. Feel like we’re going through a parking garage. It is a walking. Oh my goodness. Is it windy? Okay. Masi. Oh, we’re on the back side of the building. My goodness. Wow. Wow. This is so pretty. It’s even nicer than the office side. Oh my goodness. This looks so grand. Oh my gosh. What a good ending to Java. I know. We went from a like nice fancy luxury train to this. Kept getting better. Got it. Got it. All righty. This way. Okay. See. All right, Abby. This is so nice. We are so spoiled. Yes, we are. And we are on the 17th floor. Stop. It’s funny cuz we usually don’t figure out until we show up. I know. We could be on the third floor. We could be at the top like we were in Sibu. Yeah. I don’t even know how tall this building goes. It doesn’t look like that tall a building. Maybe we’re at the top. All right. I guess it goes up to 36. Yeah, we’re definitely not at the top. Okay, I’m going to guess this way. Which number are we? I’m stuck. Um 17. All right. Yeah, you’re going the right way. Okay. Oh, wo. This is nice. There’s like this. I thought it was going to be a whole hallway. And this What number are we? Three. Oh, nope. We went the wrong way. We had a 50/50 shot and we ruined it. I swear we travel and we know what we’re doing. Everyone makes mistakes. Hey, corner. Wow, look at that. There’s only like two in this area and we are one of two. Okay, don’t forget to take off your shoes. Yeah. Before you enter. Camera goes first. Camera’s on 11%. So, yeah. All right, let’s see what we got. Big reveal. Wow. This is the best Airbnb we’ve had so far in Java. Oh my god. A full body mirror. I love me a full body mirror. And is this a twobedroom? It’s a twobedroom. Oh wow, Logan, look at the pool. Oh my goodness. This pool’s insane. Wow. It’s like so royal looking. And is that a hot tub? Oh my gosh. Oh, look. And there’s a river over there. We could plan our day by just standing up here. Seriously. Oh wow. All right, let’s go continue. Look at the apartment. Okay, here’s one bedroom. This will be your office, Logan. Look at this. Okay. Yeah. Great view when you’re working. Wow. My gosh. I’ve never had such a view at a desk. This is like the biggest couch I’ve ever seen in an Airbnb. How many people are supposed to be staying here? My gosh. Okay. Wa. Nope. I You might be working in here. I don’t know. I like the view. This is the same view. Oh, no. The other one’s nice, too. I’ll work over here. This is so beautiful. And if you ever want to make sure that I’m working, you just peek right there. Tell me to get back to work. Test the bed. See if it’s comfy. Oh god. It’s not bad. All right. It’s not our best bed, but you know what? I’ll take it. Our last bed was so comfy. I almost feel like the bed should be turned. We have a bathtub. I’m definitely not taking a bath. Oh my goodness. What a beautiful apartment. We need another body mirror. Oh man, I am so happy with this. Oh, and a nice kitchen, too. Oh, let’s see. Where’s the washer? Microwave. Microwave. Washing machine. Yes. Oh, and we have detergent already. And like hand soap that will last us. Yeah, this is nice. And a ton of water. Like this is like key when you’re checking in in Asia is water. Cuz sometimes we have to go search for it and it’s a hassle. But I mean if we had to search for it, we cross the street, there’s a mall. I know. This is going to be such a convenient Airbnb. This one’s going to be hard to leave. I’m happy that this is how we are ending our trip in Java. I completely missed Is this the third bathroom? No, this is the second bathroom. I completely missed this other bathroom. This one’s super nice, too. Just a shower. Oh, wow. A drying rack. My favorite. Oh, this place is so thoughtful. Oh my god. Airbnbs. Take note. They’re doing it right here. And I like this bed because there’s another one that pulls out from underneath. Yeah. So, you can have like two guests in here. So, this technically sleeps four people. And this is very comfy for four people. This is so cool. We just need some AC on. And that’s I got you. I got you. Nope. I don’t got you. It’s not turning on. No. There’s probably a power button on it. We’re going to have to figure the remote out somehow. Oh, this is going to be a good week. I can feel it. Same. Although, we’re not quite sure that there’s much to do in Serbia. All of the excursions that Abby has found, she’s done most of the research are like hours away. Oh, expensive and hours away. Yeah, I would do the hours away. It’s the expensive part. It’s just a little out of our budget. And I think fast travel definitely has burned through our pockets faster than we wanted to. We are used to the month by month. Yeah. So the week by week definitely burns through our pockets faster than the month by month. So it might be a slower week, but we’re going to see what the city city has to offer. Yeah. Seems like we’re in the heart, so everything should be walking distance. We might not even need a scooter. I I I want a scooter. Scooter it is. Yeah. But I think we’re going to call it because we’re going to go get some sleep that we are much needing because we are way past our bedtime for waking up for his work tomorrow.
