Athens to Hydra, Greece. Our First Journey to the Island
[Music] Today is Saturday, September 20th. We are in Athens. We stayed in a hotel last night near the train station. So, we got here pretty late from our two-day tour to Meteora Monasteries. And we just got up early so we could have our breakfast included in our hotel. And they don’t start till 8:15. So, we missed our breakfast. That’s too bad, but we’re now walking to We’re walking to the metro, right? To start our what? Our trip to Idra. Our island hopping. That’s right. We’re starting island hopping today. [Music] John’s got the roller suitcase this morning and I’m wearing the backpack this morning. Usually he’s taking the backpack and the suitcase, but I thought I’d have some weight on my body for a little walk. We have to do the top again. Luckily, I have my porter with me. He’s got the backpack. He’s got the suitcase. And I just have to walk along. You’re working the camera. I’ll get that. [Music] We think that this is our boat tora. Got the right name on it. Flying cat. We are finding our seat number. It’s nice. There’s a little snack bar up there. [Music] Christmas. [Music] [Music] All right. Well, we’re on the way to our place. We’re going to follow these step-by-step instructions. So, first we have to walk alongside the porch and look for a bell tower where we where we will turn left. A bell tower. A bell tower. All right. Let me flip this around. Okay. All right. All right. Looking for a bell tower. Is that Is that a bell tower? Is that a clock tower? I don’t see it yet. Oh, that I see it. That might be it. Then it says and then right on the first alley. Right. First alley, right? So, we I think it’s just past the bell tower here. This is amazing. What a cool place. Okay. Is this the first alley here? Oh, look at this little restaurant. Oh my goodness. Here’s an alley here, guy. That’s us. We got to climb some stairs. Have fun with the roller bag. No problem, baby. Okay, we’re going to go up the alley. We are. And then what? Climb the wide stairs and after about 20 m turn left. So these are the wide stairs. These are the wide stairs slash alley. Yes. Look at this. This is gorgeous. Oh my goodness. This is beautiful. Oh, I guess we have to turn left. Look at this under bonco, right? Oh, that’s so cool. So, we have to turn left. Yes, we do. Okay. And then go up. Go up the first vertical road on your right, which is Sakina Street. Okay. Okay. So, we go up here. Hi, puppy. Hello. Hi. Hello. Hello. Here’s a Is this the road? Okay. There’s my porter. Oh, good thing they sent me a porter. So, we have to head up these stairs. Hi. Oh my. More stairs. Yep. All right. Wa! Look at this. Okay. Okay. So, it says here after climbing about 70 steps, you’ll see the entrance. The entrance door to the house is gray with a balcony with gray railings right there. Okay, that’s it. More stairs. Oh, good. And more stairs. Oh, good. There’s a little seating area there. Oh, look at all of this. Oh my. That must be the front door right there. Yeah. Oh boy. Oh my gosh. Santorini who? Here we go. Oh, look at this. Oh. Oh my. Look. Oh, this is gorgeous. Adorable. Leave it open. We need air breeze. M look at the these big long sofas. Yeah. Little table. We can open those. Oh, good. All right. That’s nice. That’s very nice. They hook on. Yeah. Okay. We have a little tiny hallway. A little teeny tiny little kitchenette. Okay. Here is bedroom number one. Let’s see. Oh, look at this. Oh my gosh. Oh boy. Wow. Here’s the primary bedroom. Look. Oh wow. This is beautiful. Here. Here we go. Oh, look at that with the breeze. Oh, yes. Look at our view from the bedroom. Uh-huh. Oh, man.
