Romantic Germany issue #2 Thuringia (Thüringen)
[Music] [Music] Hello and welcome back to anyon tour. Today our focus will be on part of Theinjia. Theia or Tion in German language is a German state which is located in the center of Germany. Because of the beautiful landscapes they claim to be the green heart of Germany. Today in the second issue of my series Romantic Germany I’ll prioritize again the smaller towns and cities which are usually not really in focus of travelers in Germany. Of course, Therenia has got many more interesting places to be visited and those might be destinations for my next excursion. Okay, guys. So, let’s get the show started. [Applause] Schmalcan is located in the west of Thurinjia and has got a population of approximately 20,000. In 9th century, it was already recorded in documents. In 16th century it played a major role in reformation protests of Christian church in Germany. [Music] A wonderful conglomerate of historical buildings can be found in the center of the city. Heat. [Music] Heat. Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat up [Applause] Heat up here. [Music] [Music] Schllo Williams book can be visited and accommodates an exhibition about the union of Schmalton and its war against the German emperor and the Catholic part of Germany. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] down. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Carnesfeld, where we found accommodation for one week, is a small town with a population of approximately 3,300. It has got two castles, the upper castle and the lower castle. In the lower castle, the Nether work, two medieval festivals take place at Easter and autumn. The upper castle, the Oashlo is having a medieval festival at Vit Sunday. [Music] Yes. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Antat first documented in 8th century the city has now a population of about 28,000. Yan Sebastian Bach, the world famous composer and organist, had found his first employment as an organist right here in Art at the age of 18. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Only a few kilome. meters away from Antat. The Vxenborg Castle is sitting on a hill apparently built in 11th century and officially documented in 12th century. Refurbished in 19th and 20th century [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] No, no, no, no, no. Oh, [Music] Vima has got a population of approximately 66,000 and was documented first time in late 9th century. Yuan Wolfgon Gerta and Freilla, two famous German authors and philosophers have lived and work here for quite a long time. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat up here. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, sir. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Yay! [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Air For. I must admit that Air For with a population of 213,000 is not really a small town anymore, but still worth to be listed in my selection of romantic places in Germany. The ka pul best translated as grosser bridge is one of its icons and the longest bridge in Europe that is fully covered with buildings on both sides of its road. It was documented for the first time in early 12th century. [Music] [Music] Heat [Music] up here. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music]
Welcome to my second issue of “Romantic Germany” ! This time we will visit some spots in Thuringia (“Thüringen” in german). Again I’ve put the focus on smaller towns and cities which are normally not in focus of travellers in Germany. Except the city of Erfurt. With a population of more than 200.000 it is quite big but still worth to be presented here. What makes a city or town romantic ? In my opinion the main reason to rate it romantic is a beautiful medieval (or simply ancient) appearance as well as castles, palaces and parcs. Here’s a list of some highlights of this video :
– Erfurt
– Krämerbrücke Erfurt
– Weimar
– Arnstadt
– Schloss Wilhelmsburg
– Wachsenburg
– Schmalkalden
– Oberschloss Kranichfeld
