🎉 Gernsbacher Altstadtfest | Medieval Gernsbach | Walking Tour + Stunning Drone Views

In this video, we explore Gernsbach, a beautiful town in Germany’s Black Forest. Join me as we visit the 47th Gernsbacher Altstadtfest – full of street food, live music, and a festive atmosphere. This 25-minute walking and drone tour captures the charm of half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets, and colorful celebrations. You’ll see locals and visitors enjoying food, drinks, and traditions that bring this historic town to life. Later in the video, we’ll also take to the skies for stunning drone views of Gernsbach and the Murg Valley. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this immersive tour of the 47th Altstadtfest in Gernsbach! As we begin our walk, notice the old timbered houses and cobblestone streets decorated for the festival. Every corner offers something new – sweet cakes, local beer, and friendly conversations. The aroma of grilled sausages and fresh pretzels fills the air – a true taste of German street food. Families, children, and visitors all gather together to celebrate this special tradition. People are sitting at the street tables, enjoying delicious sausages
and a variety of snacks with their families. Families look happy. The children, in particular, are having a lot of fun. Stalls selling various snacks are bustling with activity. A live music rehearsal is taking place for the stage that will be set up in the evening. Now we are heading to the Stork Tower (Storchenturm), located just above the town. And right next to it, we are visiting the Katholische Seelsorgeeinheit Gernsbach. Now let’s take a look at the charming houses along the road leading to the cemetery behind the church.
Afterwards, we will return to the churchyard. Now we are heading back to the festival area. The music is starting to be heard. I highly recommend trying the sausages from the street food stalls.
They are an essential treat at festivals. On the immediate left, Langos is being sold.
Let’s talk a little more about this popular Hungarian treat. Langos is a traditional Hungarian deep-fried flatbread, often topped with garlic, cheese, or sour cream. In Germany, it is usually made similarly, offering a delicious street food treat at festivals. Here, they also have cotton candy. Cotton candy is a sweet treat made by spinning sugar into thin threads, creating a light and fluffy confection that’s popular at festivals around the world. Today is Sunday, September 21st, and it’s the last day of the festival. This festival is held every year on the third weekend of September, from Friday to Sunday. Being in this medieval town brings a sense of happiness. There were also fireworks here yesterday, but unfortunately, I wasn’t present. This town is so beautiful that even if the streets were empty, I would still love to explore it.
The people living here are very lucky. I have returned to the city square.
I won’t be able to stay until the later hours of the evening. I didn’t want to leave without seeing this bridge and the surrounding houses.
The flowers are beautiful. I don’t want to miss the sunset, so I’m heading back towards the church. Now let’s see Gernsbach from above with stunning drone views of the festival and the town. From above, the half-timbered roofs, church towers, and festival area look magical. The Murg Valley stretches out around the town, making the scenery even more breathtaking. Watching from above like a bird is a completely different kind of pleasure. The Murg Valley stretches out around the town, making the scenery even more breathtaking.
