From Barcelona to Ibiza | 7-day trip to Spain | Travel Photography Vlog
Hello everyone, welcome or welcome back to my channel. In this video, I’ll take you with me to Barcelona, where we visit the massive Museum of Science, enjoy some delicious food and end our trip on the famous party island “Ibiza.” Barcelona is Spain’s second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. It’s located on the Mediterranean coast, covering about 101 square kilometers, with a population of around 1.6 million people in the city itself. The city is known worldwide for its art, culture and architecture. There are direct flights from Zurich every day, taking about 2 hours or a little more. We begin our trip at Zurich airport. For this trip, we fly directly with SWISS. After lunch and a couple of glasses of champagne, we arrive at Barcelona airport. We grab our luggage and take a taxi to the hotel. Since this is actually our 4th time in Barcelona, we’re aiming to explore a new different places this time. Later, we just walk around looking for dinner. We end up at the tapas restaurant run by an Asian family. The food is surprisingly good. Afterwards, we enjoy a drink at the bar before walking back to the hotel. Today we head to CosmoCaixa, Barcelona’s massive museum of science, located on the Tibidabo hills. Entry is only 8 euros and it’s definitely worth it. There are so many things to see here, like the Planetarium, hands-on experiments, and my favourite part The aquarium zone and the flooded forest, which is a living amazonian ecosystem, complete with fish, birds and even crocodiles. CosmoCaixa is one of Europe’s most innovative science museum and a favourite for families, students and curious visitors like me. Even though this is our fourth visit to Barcelona, we’ve never been to the famous Temple of Sacred Heart of Jesus, which built between 1902 and 1961. The church blends neo-Gothic and modernist styles, crowned with the statue of Christ, and the terrace offers incredible panoramic views over the city and the coast. Afterwards, we take a taxi down into the city and stop at a cute little cafe for lunch. From there, we walk along Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s iconic shopping street. Along the way, we pass Casa Batlló, Gaudí’s colourful masterpiece built between 1904 and 1906. It’s both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of Catalan modernism. After a few shopping, we are now slowly walking back to the hotel. Later in the evening, we crave seafood and head to a restaurant we found on Google Maps. We order a big seafood platter – It’s delicious. They even offer us shots of limoncello to finish. If you’re interested, the restaurant is called Monte Marinero. After that, we take it easy, just slowly walk back to the same shopping street. We get ourselves some ice cream from grocery store nearby and return to the hotel. Here we are on the day 3 in Barcelona. Today is beach day but first we will go shopping near Plaça de Catalunya. It’s Barcelona’s center square surrounded by shops, cafes and major streets like La Rambla and Passeig de Gràcia. From there we take a taxi to Mar Bella beach, about 20 minutes away. We spend a couple of hours relaxing by the sea before heading back to the hotel for a short break. In the evening we go out again near Playa de la Barceloneta and try to find a seaside restaurant. The nice thing here is you can go to downtown or hang out on the seaside. They both have different vibes and atmospheres. We end up in a seaside restaurant called Sal Mar. We have an easy dinner, just some tapas and paella. And the food is delicious. After that, we walk towards the famous W Hotel, enjoying the lively night atmosphere. And there’s even an outdoor cinema set up right by the beach. We walk until the W Hotel, and then, go back to the hotel. It’s our checkout day, so, we pack up in the morning, check out and time to go to the airport. We arrive at the airport, load our luggage and find something to eat. They even have a small kiosk that is serviced by the robot. It’s really cute. And for me, I’m having Laksa noodle soup, because I need something spicy. Though it looks spicy, but it’s not at all spicy. And before we’re moving forward, let’s have some quick info about the Ibiza island. Ibiza is one of Spain’s Balearic Islands in Mediterranean, famous worldwide as the party island. It covers about 571 km² with around 150,000 residents. But that number skyrockets in summer as tourists flock in. From Barcelona to Ibiza takes about a 50-minute direct flight. The flight was fine, not our favourite though. After landing, we collect our luggage and go pick up our rental car. This time, we rented with SIXT, and they gave us a free upgrade to a cool BMW Series 3. After that, we go straight to the hotel. We check into our hotel, which feels more like an apartment rental. The room is spacious but honestly, not worth the 550 euros per night price tag. We take a walk along the beach, grab some drinks and snacks and head back to the room. Later at night, we struggle to get a taxi but eventually make it to Ibiza town. We walk to Eivissa harbour. The harbour area is packed. Bars, shops, restaurants, people everywhere. We share some tapas and nice wine for our dinner. And unexpectedly fireworks light up the sky. Turns out August 8th is Sant Ciriac’s Day, celebrating the island’s patron saint and the Catalan conquest of 1235. The night ends with a long waiting queue over an hour just for a taxi to go back to the hotel. What an eventful day today. After yesterday’s chaos, we take it easy. We spend the day relaxing at the beach. Though for some reason, I didn’t take any video or pictures today. I’m still wondering now. So most of today’s footage comes from my phone. We have our lunch and a relaxing afternoon on the beach. In the evening, we go back to the town again. Luckily, no long queue for taxi this time. After enjoying a full moon view, we have not a really good experience at this Thai food restaurant in the town, as well as the bar. So after that, we just take the taxi back to the hotel, chill on the balcony, and wonder what are we doing here in Ibiza… We go back to the same beach again. It’s called Platja des Cavallet. Not so far from Ibiza airport. Due to the strong wave, the water here is partly not really clear, but swimmable. We enjoy a nice lunch today at the restaurant right on the beach. And spend the whole afternoon on the beach as well. Later at night, we just want to take it easy near our hotel. So we walk to San Antoni town, and soak in the sunset view. We have our nice dinner and wine at the SA COVA – Downtown – San Antoni. The food is on the small side, but comes with a tasty flavor. So we both have three courses, from appetizer to dessert. We slowly walk back to the hotel, but on the way back, we spot something strange in the night sky, like a burning satellite. I’m not sure what it was but it was both amazing and a little scary. On our final day, I start with a quick snorkel at the beach in front of the hotel. The water here is really clear and also calm. And of course, lots of fish. After that, it’s time to check out and go to the airport. We give back the car and go through a slow and unorganized service at the airport. All in all, Ibiza wasn’t the best experience for us this first time. With the high season crowds, long taxi waits, long queues everywhere and overpriced hotel, it’s not the place we would rush back to. If we return, it will definitely be in the off season, like September. And honestly, after Mykonos set such a high bar for both party vibes and luxury experiences, it’s hard for Ibiza to compare. If you want to know why, check out my Mykonos Vlog right here. And that’s it for this video guys! Thank you so much for watching. If you enjoyed it, please like and subscribe to my channel. It would mean so much to me. See you on my next trip, and Adios for now.

Ibiza 🇪🇸 – Quick Review by Me
What I didn’t like 😩
Vueling Airlines was a mess – constant delays, passengers with oversized bags, super chaotic.
Axel Beach Hotel was not worth it at all. €550 per night, but service was poor. Water €7, Coke €9 – way overpriced.
Taxis were a nightmare. Had to queue for an hour, especially at night.
LGBTQ+ scene was smaller and less fun compared to Mykonos.
Spanish food wasn’t really to my taste, and some restaurants were painfully slow with service.
Airport on the way back was disorganized, crowded, and delayed again.
What I liked
💕
SIXT car rental gave us a free upgrade to a BMW Series 3. The island isn’t big, so driving around was easy and fun.
The sea was crystal clear, perfect temperature – you could swim all day.
Platja des Cavallet beach had great service. Sun beds were €30 for two, which was fair for the quality.
Scenic views all around the island – just driving and stopping at viewpoints was beautiful.
Overall
The trip wasn’t bad, but I didn’t feel fully impressed because we went during high season – too many people, hot, and chaotic. If I ever return, I’d go in September after the peak season. Fewer people, cooler weather, and much more enjoyable
