Germany’s Magical Heartland – Drachenschlucht, Eisenach
[Music] Morgan, it’s Morgan. Welcome to a new video. We are back in Germany and we are super excited to be at the Traction Schultz, the Dragon Gorge. I mean, already I love it. And we haven’t even got anywhere near it. 2.6 kilometer circular trail winding through the gorge. The pictures beforehand look epic that we’ve seen. Yeah. So, there’s some amazing pictures on Google Maps. It should be a good one. And already from where we parked the car 10 minutes ago, it’s already been a lovely walk through forest paths. And then when you get here, the best entrance to a gorge ever. I am never going to get bored with how Germans do walks. I tell you that beautiful sign. Yeah, they they appreciate the walk for Germans. They do. They tell you where to go, how far it’s going to take you. And yeah, signpost it. It’s quite difficult to get lost out of signposts. Yeah. So, UK, if you’re watching this video, put some more signs up because it’s exactly what’s needed. And they so beautiful with all the hand wooden signs as well. I mean, it’s like so much effort’s gone into it. I just really appreciate it. We brought our own little dragon mascot with us just so that it could experience the gorge as we did. Normally he sits on top of our little dash in the car. Our little baby dragon that we got from Ljubljana in Slovenia. And he’s been with us driving about, isn’t he? Through Europe. So, we thought he’d bring him home to the Dragon Gorge. Looks like we’re going to go into the gorge even more. Yeah. Little [Music] Oh, [Music] look at that. [Music] Are we counting that one? Yeah, we’ll put the number up below. Looks like it’s going to get much thinner and much more in small gaps coming up right now. Should we head on in? Yeah. Let’s see what it’s all about. You definitely feel more in the gorge now, don’t you? Hopefully, I’ll fit through. It said something like 65 cm width. Oh, really? Is this the world’s narrowest gorge? I don’t know. We are really inside the gorge now. Cover moss. Yeah, I love it. It’s all dripping with water. Yeah. Wow. I feel like we’ve got good room. I would feel like if this was busy, you’d have to wait quite a long time for people to pass. Yeah, I did read that crowded. We’re here about half eight in the morning. And it’s a Tuesday. No one around. And it’s free. Oh yeah, it’s free. It will not cost you a penny to experience something this amazing. Free parking, free entry. Epic. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] I really love the sound of the water underneath your feet as you’re walking past sort of grave, isn’t it? Launch above. I just think it’s so beautiful. Yeah. How they’ve done that. really really impressive and fun to walk through. Yeah. Yeah. Love it. It’s probably the most atmospheric gorge walk I can think of that we’ve done. We’ve come out the other side now and um really really cool experience. I don’t think we’ve ever experienced something quite like that. quite so narrow and close to the gorge. No, we’ve been through quite a few gorge walks. Austria stands out for gorges, but this one I think it might top the lot. Really, really good. Cheers. Cheers to the dragon gorge. [Applause] There’s all sorts of interconnecting trails around here. You could spend days walking through this place. It looks epic, doesn’t it? Yeah, the whole area looks epic. It makes me want to come back like straight away. We haven’t even finished walking today and I want to come back. It’s a magical place, isn’t it? It is, isn’t it? H whoever first saw this narrow gorge and thought I’m going to build a boardwalk for people to walk around it deserves a medal. But it’s just genius. I know. So well built well like design of the flooring you walk on. It’s amazing. I don’t know how they’ve done it but it’s so good. Yeah. That’s Germany for you. Well, we love Germany. We love Germany. And this is a totally different area to what we’ve been in, isn’t it? We’ve only really been to the south near the Alps, Black Forest, and now we’re kind of in the middle of the country, and it just keeps going, being more amazing. We are on our way back from this lovely walk. We’ve walked a little way along this other route and the whole place is just beautiful walking trails. They’re all really easy as well. They’re quite flat and walking in between the trees and with the little stream next to you all the time. It feels wonderful. So, this has been an epic day. Five sandwiches for Jackson Gorge. Definitely worth doing. Absolutely must come in. And we’re going to end the video here.
