Welcome to Riquewihr in Alsace, France.
A fairytale village known for its wine, cobblestones, and half-timbered houses. We enter Riquewihr through the Alsace Wine Route.
This road connects vineyards and historic towns across the region. Riquewihr was first mentioned in the 8th century, and by the 14th century, it belonged to the Counts of Württemberg. They built much of the fortifications you see today. Walking along the medieval walls of Riquewihr.
Built centuries ago, they protected the town from invaders. Riquewihr isn’t just beautiful in summer—it’s magical at Christmas. Here is the Hôtel de Ville, or Town Hall.
Built in 1809, it replaced part of the old gate and is still the civic center. Riquewihr is surrounded by vineyards that produce world-renowned wines, especially Riesling and Gewürztraminer This is the Petit Train, a tourist train.

It honors those lost in wars. This is Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church.
The current building is from the 19th century, with a historic organ. Riquewihr’s medieval architecture is well preserved.
Wooden beams, painted signs, and cobbled lanes tell its story. Here is the Dolder Tower, built in 1291.
It served as the town gate and a defensive lookout. This is the Fontaine de la Sinne, from the 16th century.
It was used to measure wine barrels during trade. Josepha, known as “La Dame du Parc,” adds a local artistic touch.
