48 hours in Rome and Naples, Italy 🇮🇹

What [Music] [Applause] [Music] do you We’re in Rome. I am starving right now. So, we’re going to get a quick bite to eat before we actually start our evening of eating other many amazing things. [Music] We got some kind of pizza, square pizza, and then maybe a Nutella tart. And then we also have our first espresso cuz we need it. [Music] favorite thing is that it’s going to even be better. There’s truffle. Oh, that is Italian espresso right there. Yay. [Music] Guys, my first brusqueta here in Italy. This looks beautiful. These tomatoes look so vibrant and sweet. [Music] I’m going to try this grilled pepper. These dishes all look like a work of art. Honestly, [Music] [Music] look at how interesting this vegetable is. It’s crunchy and pretty neutral tasting, but it compliments the sweet melon really well. And that taheen looking spice is actually a lot spicier than it looks. Our first carbonara in Rome on this trip. Rome is the birthplace of this dish. So we are so excited. Megan approves. [Music] Good morning. It is 5:30 a.m. in Rome, and I’ve been up since 2:30 a.m. because I couldn’t sleep. Jet lag. Plus, I think I’m getting slightly sick. This is my room, by the way, in our Airbnb. And Megan, my friend, is in that room. Um, yeah, it’s 5:30 now, and we’re both up, actually. So, we’re going to take advantage of this energy that we have right now and go get some breakfast. There’s a really famous pastry place that has a good like Italian cream bread. And then probably stop by the Trevy Fountain, which I’ve been to before, but not this early. And it’s Megan’s first time. So, this is the living room of our Airbnb. By the way, this Airbnb is really big and it’s really clean. There’s even a balcony outside, too. And these are avocado trees. Oh, it’s still dark outside. [Music] They’re closed, unfortunately. It says that they’re on holiday until September 3rd. Yesterday, we also went to a restaurant that was also on holiday. So, if you are coming to Italy during mid to late August, just keep that in mind. Most of them are still enjoying their summers and they are going to close. And you know what? We did see this on Google Maps that they were closed for quite a few days and we thought it was weird. So, now it all makes sense. Megan is going to look for another spot for us. Yay, it’s open. [Music] Our first breakfast in Italy. We got four pastries between two petite women over here. Wow, this looks beautiful. This is a maritoso, which is basically their sweet bread with a sweet cream in the middle. It’s like a very light cream. And then we have cornettos, which are kind of like the Italian version of croissants. I think they’re more like shaped like a horn kind of. They’re a little bit more curved. This one’s with cream. And this one is chocolate. And then we have a cappuccino. And then a macchiato. This one’s mine. You guys see this? It is. Beautiful. M. Oh, it’s so milky. A little bit of a a lemon. So good. Well, it is denser than a whipped cream. [Music] Right now it is 7:30 a.m. Aren’t too many people which is very nice. Last time I came there were so many more people. [Music] It’s very quick. It comes up. [Music] Let’s get a water. Good. water. [Music] I’m happy. [Music] Woo! It is hot out here. I went back to the Airbnb and rested while Megan went to her coliseum tour. But we are now going to meet up for lunch and do some shopping afterwards. I found this cute little shop that sells wine, spritzes, and just like simple sandwiches near the coliseum. So, we’re going to have lunch there. And then we want to go to a flea market and just shop at some boutiques. You guys, the bus is never on time here. Very Italian. But yeah, don’t trust Google Maps cuz it hasn’t been all that smooth for me with the buses here. Here’s the shop. It’s called Leeline Shop. And look at it. It’s right by the coliseum. Cheers. Our first appall spritz with the coliseum behind. You want to sit on this side so I can take a photo of the back? Just maybe one step. This canini is really good. It’s really simple. It just has arugula, mortadella, I think some pushcido, and some boratha cheese. And it just it’s simple and it’s good. I love it. [Music] All right. [Music] All right. 2 [Music] Heat. Hey, Heat. [Music] We have decided not to go back to the Airbnb and rest and just persevere through this day. We’ve just been running around and taking buses and trams and the metro everywhere. So, we’re a little bit tired and a little jet lag, but now we’re at this really famous cafe. They have a really nice outdoor seating area where you could people watch, but they specialize in their coffee and their espresso specifically. So Megan and I just each got an espresso and hopefully it’ll be like a little pickme up before we shop a little bit more. Actually, that’s the main reason why we didn’t go back to the Airbnb is because there’s this cute novelty/souvenir store that doesn’t open until 3:30 and it’s 2:30 right now. So because of the shop, we are staying out and then we have our Vespa tour later, too. So yeah, it’s been a day. Feels so nice to sit though. Crazy. Time to get some gelato. Our first one in Italy on this trip. Pesto pistachio mint with blueberry and lemon. [Music] Uhhuh. [Music] Oh yeah. [Music] This Oh my god. tomato paste in the tube. [Music] Smells like fresh lemons. These are the cutest gelato cups ever. Okay, time for our Vespa tour. I still [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Good morning, friends. I am on the train going from Rome to Naples right now. We actually were supposed to leave earlier, but I got the times mixed up for the train. Unfortunately, me and Megan just didn’t double check. But thankfully, we were able to book another one for twice the price of what I got the original ticket for. But it’s all good cuz we made it. And we’re only going to get to Naples like 30 minutes later than we intended. Um, last night was super fun. the Vespatore. It was my first time doing anything like that and it was a great way to see the city. We basically made like several stops throughout the city and they would like stop and explain the history. We would take pictures. We stopped for a little coffee break. Um, and the entire tour was about 3 hours. And I feel like if you’re on a time crunch and you’re not in Rome for that long, that’s a great tour to do because there is a lot of walking and commuting in Rome. Like you do have to take the metro and the bus if you want to see all the sites. They’re not all together. So a Vespa tour is a great way to see Rome. After the Vesper, we went to get dinner. And we got some pasta, some meatballs, and then some wine. But yeah, it’s going to be about a 1hour train ride to Naples and we’re so excited for the pizza. You guys heard so much good stuff about the pizza. We made it to Naples and we’re in our Airbnb. They’re still cleaning out there, but they were nice enough to let us check in early because two of the bedrooms are done. This is my bedroom. It is so big. There’s a nice desk here and then a place to put clothes. And then you guys, look at this balcony. Look at this view. Isn’t that amazing? This is Megan’s room. It’s so big. I think it’s bigger than mine, actually. It’s huge. You could fit like another bed in here. There is another bedroom for my friend that was going to come, but she wasn’t able to. So, it’s a three bed, one bath. First order of business, we’re going to get some pizza and then coffee. [Music] So cute. [Music] [Music] I think I’m going to get the margarita pizza as my first pizza here in Naples. Although all of these other ones seem really good. But I kind of just want to try the classic. And it’s only €5 compared to the other ones which are like 10 or 12. All right, we’re going to go with that one. How legit do these pizzas look? These are personalsiz pizzas, but you can just tell. Look at the dough, the crust, the oil on top, the cheese. It’s all melted in, blended in like a beautiful painting. And Megan’s looks very similar to mine, but she got the buffalo mozzarella instead. So thin, huh? You just know it’s going to be good, you know. Yeah. [Music] Steals my phone. So good. [Music] [Music] This pizza is so freaking good. I love the dough. It’s so thin and it’s chewy. M. You can tell the tomatoes are really juicy, too. And you know what? I think I expected the tomatoes to be a little bit sweeter, but I like the natural tart that they have in them. It’s really nice. Your shot. I got a macchiato. I think that’s a heart. And then I had Megan get a shaker, which I had last time I was in Italy. It’s basically their version of an iced coffee, but it it is sweet and it’s a little creamy and foamy on top and it it should have fragmented bits of ice in it. So, Megan, please do the honors. Cheers. Yeah. Is it sweet? Not too sweet. This one’s good. It’s really good. I think they roast our coffee beans um on site. This next to us is like this room with glass windows and you can see the coffee roasting equipment which is really cool. Oh, it says laboratory up there. And they also sell beans here too. Now that we’ve had our food and coffee, we are heading to um a big shopping mall here, but it also is just like a really beautiful landmark. It’s called Galleria Ombberto, and we’re just going to go and maybe do some shopping, but mainly take pictures because I’ve seen pictures of like how ornate this place is. Um, and we’re going to take the metro there. The metro has been really easy to navigate both in Rome and here in Naples. And it is contactless payment. So all we have to do is scan our phone and we don’t have to buy a physical ticket, which has been very nice. [Music] I thought that I didn’t. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Oh. A little bit. You take a nap. A little bit. [Music] teachers. [Music] That sounds good. [Music] Well, [Music] Thank you. [Music] [Music]

  1. I watch your videos from time to time and they're pretty good overall.❤❤

But honestly, I don't always end up watching the full video because sometimes it doesn't feel engaging and gets a little boring. If someone really forces themselves to watch till the end, then maybe they'll finish it, but if not, they might watch half or even less (like me) and then stop.

    Please don't take this negatively🙏

    I support you❤❤
I'm just sharing what I actually felt. Maybe others feel the same too. I think you might need to make some updates so that your viewers don't stop watching halfway or less…

  2. I don’t comment too often but I have to say that I soooo appreciate your honesty in your travel vlogs 🫶🏼 when you give real feedback about what you think about the food or the tours that you go on, it makes me feel like I can actually trust you and take your advice when I plan itineraries!
Often, I’ll watch travel vlogs and it’s just the person/couple talking about how AMAZING everything is,and it’s hard to take them seriously. So I actually love the way you deliver critical feedback ✨
Also as a sidenote, I remember way back in the day when you posted your South Africa vlog and people were being so rude in the comments. I think it’s completely fair to have honest conversations about the places we visit and our perspectives given our home countries; everyone is different. We’re allowed to like/dislike things and have preferences and I appreciate you sharing yours! Most people don’t risk it lol.
Sending positive energy and abundance your way ✨and safe travels!!
