CROATIAN ADVENTURE VLOG pt.2 🇭🇷 Split, Hvar & Dubrovnik: backpacks, airbnbs & public transport🛳️

Hello everyone. Welcome back to my YouTube channel and welcome to Croatia. Join me and my family on my summer adventure, Airbnb hopping over 10 days down the coastline of Croatia. Over two videos, I will cover our journey from the city of Pula, famous for its amphitheater and history, onto the city of Zadar, known for its beautiful sunsets. Then onto Split, Roman architecture, lively bars and markets. A shorter trip to Havar, known for its glamorous night life and superyachts, and then finally onto De Bronik with its beautiful city walls, world heritage site, and famous for filming the Game of Thrones. Aside from our initial flight to and from Croatia, all travel was done via public transport. In my last video, I showed you Pula and Sadar, and this time we’re starting in Split. So, let’s get back to the adventure. [Music] And so, we’ve arrived in Split. The bus has just pulled us up right by the port. So, we’re just going to head down now to our Airbnb. I don’t think it’s actually that far away at all from the center. I came here last 2 years ago and I absolutely loved it. We all loved it. So, I’m really excited to be back here again. And the weather is beautiful. And that bus drive, honestly, I thought that was fantastic. It was meant to be 2 hours 15 and it was actually just less than 2 hours. There was no traffic. It was air con. I slept nearly the whole time. I would definitely definitely recommend doing that. And um I didn’t even feel coach sick, car sick, or anything like that, which sometimes can get. And Teddy does as well. And he was absolutely fine. So yeah, welcome to Split. Let’s go check out the next accommodation. This next accommodation, by the way, was I think £103 reduced from £145. That’s the beauty of booking things was quite last minute because a lot of places tend to reduce the prices cuz they want to fill them quickly. So, this was meant to be £145 and it looks a lot nicer than the last one. It also has about 9.7 star rating on um on Airbnb. So, and all the reviews look great. So, let’s go find out. [Music] Oo, something must be going on here. Film crew. Director’s chair. Oh my goodness me. This is an improvement, isn’t it, Ted? Yeah. I thought the last one was okay. It was just a little bit dingy. And the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Wow. So light. So this is your bed, Ted. Mhm. Nice and big. Loving all these little rugs on the floor. Got our bed over here. Again, I love all the brick work peeping through. Fresh towels. Even got some little suites. I really like as well. I love these big mirrors. And the lady has also left us this map um with a few kind of key things on for us to see. She also met us outside. She was looking for us and she brought us in, which is really nice. Other places haven’t had that. so far. So, we are just here for one night. I think we’re going to go and head to the beach this afternoon. Maybe try a new one or maybe try the one that we have done before because we know that we like it. But yeah, happy to be in Split. Extremely happy with this apartment. And yeah, what a bargain. Also, this drink, she said her mother makes it. Is that right? Said her mom makes it and they call it medicine cuz it heals everything. And we’ve got a kitchen as well. Obviously, we’ve got your microwave. Couldn’t think of the word. Then hob if you want to cook. Really nice sink. Lots of cupboards. Again, I don’t think there is a washing facility in this one, but that’s okay. We don’t need one this time. Maybe maybe one for the next time. I traveled in this outfit. This little two-piece as well from ASOS. I think they do it in green as well because I bought it for my last holiday and it’s super super comfy. Oh, and airy. Here’s the bathroom as well. Really nice. Very clean big shower. Very spacious. Very spacious. Bday as well. And then we’ve got all the essentials. If you forget your toothbrush, forget your toothpaste. Minis. Fabulous. This beach is definitely our favorite one in Split. So, the beach itself is really nice here because if you can see the stones, they’re not as bad as where we’ve just been in Pula and in Enzad. Even getting in the sea, it was really, really, really rocky. Whereas here, it’s stony. It’s not a sand beach, but you don’t really need you don’t really need like beach shoes to enjoy the water. Have just been in the water and it is really nice. It is worth mentioning though that it is quite expensive here. So, I remember it being expensive a few years ago. Last time we came, we just had towels on the beach, but this time just really wanted to be able to sit in the shade. It’s very, very hot today. It’s like 30°. And we Yeah, we decided to get a cabana. Now cabanas are €100 per double cabana and they say children are free thanks to that. So that’s not included with like any food or drink that you can redeem against it which in some beach clubs obviously in other places you can do. So that’s just for the bed. No towels included as well which is fantastic because I forgot the towels. That’s that’s awesome. You can buy towels here and it’s 35 per towel. Now, cocktails and mocktails are about €14 each, and I think beers are around €7. Soft drinks are €5.50. So, it’s not a cheap day out, but we thought if we we’re just going to be here all day. They thought it’d be nice to sit to sit and chill. Just bear in mind it is quite expensive. Um, but it’s a beach club and it’s nice and it’s table service as well, so you can order your drinks from the ladies coming up and down. I will say it’s a bit strange. I wanted to order a drink at the bar to go and kind of see the menu and they said they wouldn’t take my order. It has to be done from your bed. And also is bear in mind it’s cash only up to if you spend over €7 you can pay on your card but and that’s for only on food and drink. You have to pay for beds with cash. There is a cash machine here. But if you spend food and drink um over €7, you can put it on your card. We ordered some pizza and this it was €16. I expecting maybe like an actual size pizza, but yeah, we have a snack size pizza. No, I didn’t think which is a bit of a shame. And luckily the taxi is still sat there. When we came to the square before, I missed out on showing you this cuz it was so busy. But this is is this a main square? Would you call it? We are literally right on this square. [Music] [Music] our room window. We have front row seats to the hottest show in town. You need back row seats. [Music] I’ve just ironed my shorts. These are my Lily silk white shorts and then I’ve got this off the shoulder little beige beige top, my little Zara sandals, and yeah, minimal makeup again, but like some nice gold chunky jewelry that I thought was quite kind of Venetian kind of go with the theme of split. Didn’t fancy a dress tonight. Fancy shorts. So yeah, this is my outfit of the night. Excuse the mess everywhere else. [Music] You just can’t [Music] [Music] There we go. [Music] I especially love Split because I feel like every corner you turn down, every little pathway, it’s got the most beautiful cobbled streets. There’s the most fabulous little quaint wine bars. We’ve just popped into another little square where we actually stayed last time. Let’s give you a little show around how just beautiful it is. Love the fact that everyone’s just spilling out onto the street. Come up here. Gets even better. We’re going to try and go for lunch. Sorry. We’re going to try and go for dinner at the place we stayed at last time because they had a lunch menu and it was amazing. So maybe they have dinner as well. But it’s just amazing. Prefer I have one kilo fish sea bus. I really prefer Okay. This one for the wine. Yes. [Music] Wow, that looks so good. Blue pearl ratoto. The cheeks. The kids. My grandfather always eat the cheeks. Yeah. Yeah. was it? Guess caramel and white chocolate. And what did you get, Ted? Watermelon and terramis. Do they go together? Yeah. This lovely cafe is right outside our Airbnb. Every corner you turn around, there’s something different going on. And in this case, the fish market was running. So, we went inside for a little look around. Don’t you think that Zaras abroad always better than Zara’s at home? So, we absolutely have to have a little look around. I love these. Very holiday vibe. We have a few hours left before our ferry to Havar. So, we thought, let’s go and have a little explore. [Music] What you will notice is that you’re never far from a pirate candy sweet shop. We’re officially off to our next destination, which is Havar. Our ferry is at 3:00. It’s worth noting that the fairies were all around £25 per person and then this one at 3:00 for some reason was £750 per person, which meant we had to kind of hang around a little bit and split this morning, but it wasn’t too bad. We just had some nachos and tacos um at a little restaurant just right by the port. Now we’re heading to the boat and yeah, there’s supposed to be a storm coming in. And it is quite windy now, so it’s not the best time to travel, but it is only an hour on the ferry to Havar. So, let’s go. It would be great being on a boat today. No, no. That one rocking. We’ve arrived. Yeah, it was. This is nice. Is this some sort of therapy chair? We’re heading out for a drink tonight. This is the weather. Say cheese. We’ve been welcomed into Havar with the lovely sunny weather. As you can see, it is absolutely bucketing it down, but it’s still really warm, so that’s a bonus. So, we’ve just come down. We have an We have an umbrella in our apartment, which which is fine, which is great. So, we’ve just walked down to a local little bar. Really cute little bar. Gorgeous. It’s called K Landanda Bar on one of the side streets and we’re going to have a drink here. We’re on these cars and I think we’ll probably end up with maybe a takeaway tonight and have a bit of a cozy night. [Music] This is my favorite one. All the navy. Dalmatino split. Got Naval look split beyond London. The rain stopped. We walked back down to the harbor and we found a really lovely little harbor facing restaurant. So, it’s called Cafe Bar Anna. This is the house red. I think it’s actually €6 a glass, which is stunning considering the last place we just went to, the wine was €9 for basically a thimble. And yeah, right on the front and it’s delicious. Can’t go wrong really, can you? the house. Well, I’ve got two slices. [Applause] Good morning from a slightly overcast bar. I went out for a run this morning and it decided to absolutely chuck it down. There was thunderstorms and all. Carl and Ted went for a coffee and then we got some bits and bobs from the shop to have some breakfast in. So, we’ve had quite a slow start to the day. It’s about 11 o’clock now and finally it looks like it’s brightening up. It does actually say that there’s not going to be any rain um tomorrow at all now. It’s going to be nice bright sunshine. So, that would be delightful if that’s the case. So, we’re just heading down to the beach and going to go to check it out. I’m not sure what we’re doing today yet because obviously the weather hasn’t been on our side. So, fingers crossed this looks like it’s brightened up. [Music] As if by magic, the sun has graced us. It’s looking glorious. But I’ve just found a really cool street just behind just behind the main port street. It seems to be where all the really lovely shops and boutiques are. So, number one, I want to find some new hair bubbles cuz it’s just got this big black bobble. It’s not really going with my outfits. Um, number two, I won’t mind finding a cap, a nice cap cuz I haven’t brought one with me. And also, I just love looking at the shops. We’ve actually eaten in Junior. I remember I just remembered the steps and I thought that’s a really great picture spot. And I’ve got a photo on these steps here. I like these coords. I could go around shops like this all day. Hello. Hi. Hello. Wow. Love this. These are lovely. Welcome Easter. Hello It’s beautiful. Finally got my cap. But I do need still to find some bobbles. Oh my goodness. I am obsessed with this print. Wow. Wow. Finally found the chemist which is called moola spelled like molite. I don’t think it is actually pronounced moola but heyi ho. And they had paws which I got got some shampoo and conditioner for us cuz I haven’t washed my hair properly since we’ve been away. I’ve also picked up some dry shampoo so I feel like a new woman. And I had a few I’d say an hour actually to myself which has been just delightful. So I’m going to go and find the boys now. See what they’re up to. I think they’re fishing. I didn’t buy anything. [Music] I brought you some snacks. What snacks? Crisps and Oh, you brought you some you got sandwiches. No. Cheers, gorgeous. Did you enjoy your fishing? Did you, Carl? I just asked chat GPT because I fancied a rosé to see which one would be the most similar to a pale rosé like I like at home. And apparently this rosé Gaelic is. So we’ll we’ll see how that goes. Thank you. [Music] I needn’t have worried about the palenness because that is delicious. [Music] Ted got the steak. Sorry, we’ve just had the most delicious lunch. The owner of the restaurant has just asked Teddy if he wants to come and fish because apparently they the uh they caught a huge I think red snapper last night. So now the guys are here fishing which I just think is just amazing. [Music] Good morning from Havar. It’s a little bit overcast at the moment. It’s 10 past 9. We are up bright and early because we are off to hire a boat today, which I’m extremely excited about. It’s one of my favorite things to do on the island. You can hire different horsepowers, different level of horsepowers of boats. And we usually get I think it’s an 8 horsepower. It’s like a little boat with a reef over the top. I will show you I’ll show you shortly when we go to pick it up. But it’s just so much fun. It means you can travel around all the nice coes and beaches around Havar and it’s just a good day out, isn’t it? So, we’re just going to head to the supermarket now, pick up some croissants, pick up some snacks and drinks, things like that to take with us as an as there is an ice box on the boat. This way, you go in the way neutral. Take the front rope around and tie it up back on the boat. When you stay there, so when you drive the boat, I believe you when you drive the boat. The adventure is beginning, guys. You sure? I felt something. I definitely Yay. Yay. Well done, Ted. First stop. Three fish caught. Very clear down here. Captain Crisps. Yum. Yum. [Music] This is really [Music] pulled into our first little bay that we’re planning to get out of. And this is gorgeous. We haven’t been here before. This is called Totos. Well, there’s a restaurant called Totos. And do you remember what the beach is called? Pal Pali something bay. I’ll find out that for you guys. But it’s just gorgeous. We’ve booked lunch at half past 2 at a restaurant we went to a few years ago. Um which is another little obviously part around the bay. Well, I say around the bay around the whole what are the islands called? The Palini Island. Palakini Islands. That’s where we’re going around all the all the way around the Palini Islands finding finding little bays and beaches. It’s just it’s just unbelievable. [Music] Classy. It’s not filming. It’s It’s up. It’s chilly. Oh, come here me. I’m having a we Oh god, follow me. Bigger that whe that was expensive. [Laughter] [Music] [Music] fish. Hey This is a cheese selection. Got fig and walnut almonds. Then we’ve got the what is it called? Tuna cap. Oh, sausage capaci. Ted’s got what you got, Ted? I have um chicken breast with a mushroom and bacon sauce. these chips when I tell you so good. Got some croettes as well. I don’t think we needed them, I’ll be honest. But another gorgeous meal on this little island. Definitely one to visit if you’re thinking of coming. The best food. Obviously, the food we just had today was different than the last time, but still equally as lovely. Put your bed up. Pick your bed up. Should we eat this one? What is that? I think it is. Sebastian towel. Well, this is it from our humble abode in Havar. Last night was lovely. The last two nights we haven’t actually eaten out because we’ve done more daytime things. Obviously, yesterday we went out on the boat. We had the most amazing late lunch and then we just got some snacks and went down went down to one of the local bars and played cards last night and had a nice cozy night in. So, we’re off now. We’re off to De Brvnik. Uh, our ferry is at 10:40, so we’ve got about 2 hours, an hour and a half, actually. I need to grab some breakfast. So, this is this is goodbye from our lovely little Airbnb here. It’s a hatch. It’s actually been great. The only downside is that it doesn’t have it doesn’t have a washing machine, which would have been quite handy because we are running out of clothes now. Well, we’re just about we’re just about okay, but it would have been nice to maybe wash wash a couple of things, but that is it. That being said, Havar is just it’s just beautiful. This is just a view looking out of our room. I mean, just beautiful. Okay, next stop. It’s a real shame I didn’t actually get to go in this shop because it looks absolutely fantastic at nighttime. It’s called Miramar. So, if you’re here, make sure you check this out because on this side as well, they had the most fantastic coord. Such a shame. Look at all those pretty clothes. Does just look phenomenal. It is short. It says on Sundays, but I am quite sad that I didn’t get to have a nose in there. At least I’ve saved some money. M [Music] It appears we were a bit spoiled on the way from Zadar to split because the ferry was a different line. I’ll find out what line it was, but obviously it had charges, it had tables, it had seats. You could like go upstairs and sit outside on this particular ferry. It’s um it’s not great. There’s no charges. Bit more crammed in. Uh I don’t think we can go outside and we’re on it for 3 hours 40. That’s not ideal. Wow. Look. Oh my gosh. Look at that. Check out this incredible view. I’m glad I put my trainers on. This is just amazing. Take a right. [Music] Oh my god. Actually can’t get over this. This is incredible, isn’t it? Oh my god. I can’t get over this. Call. This is like medie like look. Is this crazy? Oh, it’s medieval bats. Oh, what? If it’s medieval, it’s not. Hold on a minute. [Applause] This is quaint. Is this it? Yeah. Oh my gosh, it’s lovely. Oh my goodness. Me. This is incredible. Sink. This must be the bathroom. Got a shower. This is a bedroom. Wow. Am I delicia? [Music] [Music] Can’t actually get over how unbelievably magical these streets are. We’re not sure where to eat though. Keep walking around. So, we’re going to get a drink and uh and then have a little have a look. Two cherry sprits have been ordered. Ted has got a Fanta orange. Ooh, thank you. What class is your place in me nowadays? It appears to be even though we had a look on trip advisor. This place looks fantastic. I think it is just their lunch menu at the moment, but it still looks very nice. Looking currently at a beetroot tartar. That looks amazing. Also got beef tartar croquettes to its own shrimp ravioli and olives. Looks good. Got tapas obviously light lunch bara. Semi sunundried tomatoes. Still looks very good. Olive is amazing. Thank you. This restaurant is called Zuzori and it was highly recommended on Trip Adviser. Also, I checked out the food on Instagram and it did look delicious. So, we’ve gone with the wine is a syrup blend, I think, in the car. Yes. Got the bottle here actually. Baraka Momento Syrac. Yeah, that place in creation and it’s actually delicious. Really, really nice. And then we’ve gone for well Ted’s got chicken and chips and we’ve gone with tapas. So we’ve got some backed potatoes and petta. We have got tuna tartar and we’ve got shrimp tempura and then we’re going to share spaghetti clams. So that’s our lunch. So this is this prawn tempura. Quite obviously, we’ve got the tuna cev tatar and the the um the crispy potatoes. They look really good. Look at a pirate ship, Ted. Good morning, lovelies. We’re off now to breakfast. Well, I say we. Col and Teddy have already gone down to breakfast. It is looking a little bit a mess in here. Teddy stayed in here last night. We stayed in the other room. Just thought I’d show you my outfit of the day. Got this little skirt from Asus with all the lovely embellishment on. I haven’t actually worn it yet this holiday. And I have just popped it with this loose top. I do also have like a bodycon style top, but I thought personally that it would be a bit warm and this is quite nice and airy. I’ve just ran the um my curling thing over my hair so it didn’t look so flat. going to put my sandals on and then head down to Breit. I’m not sure what we’re doing today yet because I kind of wanted to do the Game of Thrones, the Game of Thrones tour, but obviously Teddy’s with us and you’re not seeing Game of Thrones because it’s obviously not child friendly. Um, so maybe we’ll go and do the walls instead. It’s looking warm, but not too hot right now because it is only half past 9 in the morning. So once we decide what we’re doing today, because we’ve got the whole day and then we leave tomorrow, I’ll let you know. Oh, food, guys. Thank you. That looks good. Where’s your money? I think there’s avocado under here. Yeah. This is avocado and eggs on toast. So, I wouldn’t advise coming here. It’s more like a thin butter. Carl and Ted have just got out on a kayak. It’s €35 for I think it’s maybe an hour on the kayak. Let them do that, not me. Um, so I can read my book in peace. Just been reading The Housemaid by Freda M something. Can’t quite remember. Anyway, I really liked The Silent Patient. Finished that a few days ago. And I was thinking cuz obviously I’ve not brought a book away with me stupidly. I was going to buy it again from Apple, but at the minute there’s like a Kindle free trial, 30-day free trial. Um, and then it goes like £9 a month and you can read all the books on there. So that is the better option. So, I’ve done that to start reading this and I am loving it so far. Um, but yeah, just so you know what we’ve got in here. Just so you know, the Sunbed Situ do have these really nice cabanas if you can see them just behind me, but they were full. Now, they’re €100 for one cabana and then you get two bottles of water and two towels. So, it’s not it’s not that cheap to be honest. And then we’re on a double bed. A double bed with a broly was €9. I think you get two towels, two free bottles of water, and then for a single sunbed, it’s €30 plus per sunbed. You don’t get anything with that. A towel is €5 and a umbrella is €10. So, it’s not the cheapest, but drinks here as well. I think it’s like €8 a beer. Um, I will take a picture of the menu for you. And then food is is quite expensive, but there is a supermarket at the top of the stairs um that I nipp to before to get two spritzes. It does say you’re not allowed to bring your own drinks here, but let’s be honest, we all do. And no one um no one questioned me. I would have actually bought some more and brought some ice in the bag, but yeah, didn’t do that. There wasn’t any ice, so that’s that. But the beach here is beautiful. Really, really nice. The water is lovely. Although, I definitely got bitten by something. I don’t know if you ever find this when you go in the water. if you get if you’ve got like cuts on your legs or like little bites mark that I’ve had where you’ve got an open wound, even if it’s tiny, fish come and bite them. So, I’ve ended up with my legs bleeding a bit. So, I’m not going in again cuz it was sore. But that being said, the water is lovely and it’s not as stony as the other place in Croatia. So, all in all, lovely beach, busy again. Lots of people have just bought their own towels, but it’s nice that you’ve got your own bed and is um it’s it’s like bed service as well. And just like that, it’s our last evening away. So, we’re going to go for dinner. There is just a restaurant Carl has found just up the road from where we’re staying. Literally, I think just opposite the um uh apartment. So, I’ve gone with this lovely, you can see, blue little ruffle maxi dress. Excuse the mess in the background. Obviously, I’ve got my bag and because I uh found some dry shampoo. Hold on a sec. cuz I got some dry [ __ ] I managed to save my hair from today in the heat. So, this is my outfit for the night for the very last night. Let’s go and eat cuz I am absolutely starving. You know what? By the So, what’s this black rosato? Well, there’s good price in this, isn’t it? Isn’t it such a good portion size? Goats cheese. Ted’s bread. Well done, Ted. Have you ever done that before? No. Says time for everything. Thank you so much. That looks so good. The last few hours in De Bronik before we head to the airport, we’ve come for a little reach about 50,000 steps. We’re at the top. Wow. Remember whatever’s going to come down. I know. Did you kayak all around here yesterday?
