An early autumn trip to South of France- Monaco, Èze, Menton and Nice…
[Music] [Applause] [Music] Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. If you’re new here, my name is Michelle and I tend to mostly do fashion kind of style content, but I do also vlog. I am vlogging my trip to the south of France. We’re currently staying in town called Menon, which is about an hour from Nice. So, I landed earlier today. I flew in from London. By the time I got here with like trains and everything, it was like 4:00 p.m. And then I met up with my cousin Steph, who you’ll probably see in the rest of the vlog. I met up with her. We got to our Airbnb, settled in, and it was so humid. It was like 25°, super humid. Like I think my hair is just going to do its own thing. And we just went to the beach, had a walk along the beach, just chilled. I dipped my feet in. She went for a swim. And yeah, we’re just kind of enjoying it. I’m also filming on my brother’s DJI. And I’m still getting used to it, so I feel really awkward right now. I’m just going to take you along. We’re staying in Menon. We’re probably going to I think the right way of pronouncing is Montton. It’s really cute. It’s like known for all these like yellow buildings. We actually walked past by accident. And I think I’ll probably insert footage of that. But we’re definitely going to discover it. We’re going to go for dinner later. Probably have a drink as well. And then we also want to do a day trip to Nice. We want to do a day trip to probably like Monaco and EZ. I don’t know. There’s so many like cute places we want to see. And we’re here until Friday. So, we have Monday to Friday to like explore. The weather’s apparently not going to be too good, which is really sad, but we’re going to make the most of it. You know, this is an early autumn in the south of France. So, I’ll just show you what it’s like. Be sure to hit that like button. Is officially day two in Monton. And today I think we’re going to head down, get something to eat, get a coffee, walk around a little bit this morning cuz it’s so nice and sunny. It’s actually sunnier than I thought it was going to be. Then I think we’ll come back, change into our bikini, and then find a beach. Um cuz I think it’s going to be like 24, 25°, so it will be nice enough, which will be good. So we’re going to make the most of that. It’s such a cute little corner. So nice. Look, that’s the beach that we should have gone to yesterday. So sunny. We’ve been really lucky actually this morning with the weather. I want to go and swim now. Just bought a baguette. Looks very French. And we’re going to make sandwiches that we’re going to have at the beach later. We’re looking for that like famous there’s like a yellowish building and church I think it is and we saw it yesterday and I think it’s somewhere here of all of the buildings and how like they’re all like an orangey yellow color. Um look how nice I just want to keep taking pictures. Everything’s so pretty. I think this is the spot I’m looking for. Look how pretty that is. Oh wow. Oh, today I’m wearing a dress. Where did I get this from? ASOS. I think it’s a brand called Glamorous or something. And then my bag is my DIA bag. And then I have my H&M ballet flats on. And then I also have my Lepex Sunny’s. So we just went to a kur and picked up some bits. So we’re going to make ourselves like a sandwich. We picked this up from the bakery earlier. Got some cheese, some like chicken, and then we’ve got coconut. Got some grapes. I got this juice. And then Steph got this one. And then we’ve got some salads that can also go in our sandwiches. Yesterday we also picked up these snacks. Just going to get ready now. Get our bikinis on, take everything with us, and just enjoy the sun while we have it. We’re going to enjoy that. The way down from the Airbnb like 100 steps and really windy, scary, small steps. It’s cute. Very French. So, we packed all of our snacks. We’re all ready. And now we’re going to walk to the beach. Why does it sound like Swiss cows? There’s no cows. Don’t lie in the marina’s actually so pretty. It’s really windy. I probably look crazy. Me and Steph both have our headbands on. Mango peach. So, we got ready and we’ve come out for dinner. We kind of like tried to work out good spots to eat. So, we’re going to go and see if we can get a seat and have a nice little dinner. It was a really nice day at the beach. It was perfect. It was a little bit cold in the water, but it was just so nice. The sun went down. We went back, showered, and got ready. And it’s just so cute out here. And the sun’s setting so nicely. And yeah, now we’re really hungry and we need food. And Steph really wants muscles. So, we’re going to find uh Yeah, every day she’s like, “I want muscles. I want muscles.” It’s only been two days. So, we’re going to find somewhere cute. Notice everything’s really Italian, so there’s like basically majority Italian restaurants. The Italian border is really close. [Music] Wow, that looks so good. That dinner was not what we expected. My fish was like still not cooked. And I hate complaining, but like I literally couldn’t eat half. So Steph complained for me. She was like, um, her fish is not cooked. Like it literally was still like see-through. Steph’s muscles, half of them were not open. And yeah, I don’t know if my sea bass was worth like €30. So, I’m not really It’s a shame because they were nice. They were just like rushed off their feet and the food wasn’t like it. Yeah. I don’t know. We’re struggling to find a good place to eat here. We just went to get gelato, but the place was closed. We’re not having a great uh evening. No, it’s been great, but yeah, not working in our favor. And it said it was closing at 11:00 on Google Maps, so that was a lie. I know these step. [Music] So, we’ve just walked past this like market that’s literally right next to the Airbnb on the way to the station cuz we want to go to EZ today. And I think I might just get a coffee. Actually, I need one to wake up. Loads of nice like fresh juice. I got my iced cappuccino. It looks really good. Let me try it. I mean, it tastes like an iced cappuccino. That’s for sure. Do you want to try it? Strong? Yeah, it’s strong. Just what I need. True. It reminds me of that. It’s so cute, isn’t it? I still don’t know where the jam is. Wow, look at the view there. So beautiful. waited for the bus that was meant to arrive at 11:17. Did it come in the end? No, it didn’t even come. It was like 12. Was it 12:30 when I ordered the Uber? 12:40 maybe. Oh, okay. Um because the bus didn’t come for like 20 minutes. Um it was the best decision we ever made. But these two other tourists asked to get into the same Uber and then the Uber driver got angry. So that was awkward. Yeah. He he was just having a go at. So, if you are coming to EZ and you want to go up to the top, I’d probably recommend you don’t wait for the bus and just pay the €12 for the Uber. You can’t walk it. Unless you’re a keen um hiker, don’t bother walking. It looks good and it tastes good. Breast is so good. We finally got a good lunch. Mhm. [Music] We will be This one is dark. This one is six. So, we’re just going back to Airbnb. We got an Uber down from it. And then we got the train. It literally came in 1 minute. It was perfect timing. The queue for the bus stop was awful from the top to get down to the station. So, we didn’t want to do that again. 10 to 5. So, we’re just going to put our phones on charge, just kind of change. We might go for a little walk on the beach, relax, and then probably go out for dinner. It was a really good day. It was really nice. It’s quite busy at some points, but it was really nice. Definitely worth visiting. Hi Okay. Hi. Taking a picture here. Wait. I just know my my camera quality is going to be way nicer. [Music] Good morning. It is day four. I think it’s day four. And today we’re going to do Monaco and Monte Carlo. We’re just on our way to the station. on the way. I’m going to grab a coffee cuz I need one to wake up and I feel kind of hungry because uh yesterday’s dinner didn’t slap. But yeah, we’re just going to stop in that market that we went to yesterday cuz it’s actually good. It’s meant to be like 20° so we’re in jeans and like a vest, but feels kind of hot already. So, um we came out of the station. We didn’t know where the hell to walk. We ended up in this like weird like y lot show thing. I don’t know where we are. We saw the hop on and off bus, you know, one of those like tour buses. We just sat on it because I don’t know. I don’t know anything about this place. So, we’re going to plug our headphones in and learn. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Oh my god. So, we just got to this like market square and we’re looking for somewhere to sit and eat, ideally in the sun. They have like fruit and veg, but I think there’s like food inside the market there. I need to be careful. I’m wearing white jeans. Oh, yeah. That is really good. So good. You sure you can rinse them? No. I don’t know how to drive, so that’s not helpful. [Music] Yeah, we sat and we’re going to have a cappuccino for the afternoon. Where are we even sat? We’re sat in this like a hotel, random hotel, which I can’t see cuz it’s so bright. Hermitage Hotel, but it looks cute. I don’t know. I’ve never seen this as a thing before, but it’s cute area. Just walking around the bit where the castle is in Monaco, but there’s just like loads. Oh my god, there’s a beagle one. There’s just like loads of touristy shops. So that’s the castle. View is really nice though. So had a good like look at the view from there. I guess this is like the square. [Music] So, now we’re walking back down the hill. We got to see the like little castle kind of area at the top and it was really nice. We had our crepe and our lemon juice and it just was nice and refreshing. We chilled a little bit and yeah, now we’re just going to walk back going to walk back to the station and just get our train home. It’s kind of getting a bit chilly now, so we feel a bit cold, but the view’s been nice to watch as we walk down. I think we missed the last hop on and hop off bus down. So, but it’s okay. We’re going to enjoy the walk. Crazy. Like, the sun’s gone now behind the hill. Still really nice. There’s so many yachts, but I think it’s because of this like yacht show. I don’t know if this is usually how it is, but they’re literally like full all the way to there. Looks so like densely populated over there. We stopped to have pizza in this cute little pizza stop. What is it called? Specialities Italian. So hopefully it’s a really good Italian pizza. And what was the rating on Google? 4.6 or something. It was a 4.6 rating. So fingers crossed it’s good. I got a diavala with olives which looks good. And Steph got quatro sonyi or something like it like four different things or what? Yes, they all look really nice. Like good. You can try. You will like that. Yeah, you have to try mine too. And so far they’re really friendly. So, so far so good. That was really good. Highly recommend. Good morning. It is day five in the south of France. And today we’re going to Nice. We’re just walking to the station. My hair is greasy. Don’t mind me. Also, Steph just discovered that they’re playing the radio in the streets. Like there’s like speakers. I don’t know. You probably can’t hear it. But yeah, I’ve never seen that before. That’s quite unique. I booked um La Pona in Nice, which is like apparently a good place to eat. we’ll give you a really genuine review because I started scrolling on Tik Tok and like listening to like what people’s reviews were and I was horrified to find out that actually it’s not worth it. It’s €60 minimum spend per person. I think we’re going to just end up getting the truffle pasta and probably a drink cuz apparently the truffle pasta is like €45. So hopefully it’s even worth our time. But yeah, I’ll let you know. We just arrived and there’s a queue of people and it’s not open yet. But I wonder where they’re going to seat us. So, we ate at the pla, whatever it was called, and it was actually good. We haven’t got anything bad to say. The service was good. The food was good. And we haven’t actually been very lucky with the food here. The only good things that we had was the pizza last night and the fkatcha sandwich that we had in EZ in EZ. Yeah, it was really good. So, we were skeptical, but I don’t think they should really charge €45 for a truffle pasta, but at least everything was good. One thing to note is where the like women jumping off the diving boards, which kind of like part of like the whole point of the restaurant, you can’t really see them. I don’t know why I thought you could see them really easily, but I think it just depends. If you like walk around, you can kind of get a good view. And now we’re just walking around Nville and we’re just kind of discovering. So I think this is like the high street. Why are we so [Music] happy? still gets me every time. It’s a It’s a vibe. It’s a whole vibe in the street. I don’t want to get copyrighted. So, it’s our final day and we’re going to get coffee. We’re going to I can’t hear myself with this music. We’re going to get coffee and breakfast and then probably just chill on the beach, walk around a bit more and yeah, just kind of relax. I’ve got a cappuccino and a cross. We’re just sat in the street enjoying. Can hear the radio still. So, I just chilled on the beach a little bit in the last couple of hours. I think I’m going to go back to the Airbnb, charge up my phone, and just kind of finalize my packing. Steph already went. She went at like 2:00 for the train, so just spent some time alone. Yeah, it’s been really good. It’s been quite relaxing, especially just now. I just like literally did absolutely nothing and just enjoyed the view. I hope you guys enjoyed.
