Walk From SODAP Beach To Paphos Sea Front
Hi, this is Dominic from Puffos Life and I’m at uh Soda Beach today. Just watching one of the tour boats head off towards Yoskapu and uh we’re just about to walk on the boardwalk and to the seafront. Thought I’d give you a quick tour of this area first though. That’s the Marvi Hotel. Couples only. Adult adult couples I should say. A lot of swimmers still and I can understand it because it’s midepptember around half 10 possibly 11 by now I’d imagine. But it’s very hot still. Not as scorchingly hot as it was last uh few weeks ago in uh August, but still fairly hot. That’s enough for you to have a decent uh holiday. We got a bit further. I’ll pan around to show you the beach from a distance. was actually filming any somewhere. Power glider over there. You’ll see in a minute if you want to see them already. Here’s the lifeguard station. Red and yellow flag means the lifeguard is on duty. Know your codes. And there’s soda looking particularly splendid at the moment. Nice sandy beach if you want to build castles. I say that cuz someone’s asking. There are a lot of sandy beaches in Post. I mean, it’s not wall to- wall sand like you get in uh inappa, but uh there’s enough for you to find a place if you want to build castles. I used to build for my uh little when she was into such things, I used to build uh outdoor theaters. I dig a hole and then decorate it. They numerous levels and then we get shells to make a people in there and then this big dinosaur would appear and crush it all. Of course, I’m very fond of stepping on all my handiwork. water sports here and that’s uh Pacquiao not Pacquiao Riceia B is that beach and Sodap Beach’s proper name is Riceia A called Sodap though cuz Sodap which is like a brewing cooperative used to own the land but they gave it to the state. And voicia basically means tap which is like a bar in a brewery. Presumably there are two of them and the beach is named after them. Right. So now we’re on the Alexander the Great Hotel. You can hear the music from the uh tour boat, but I’d imagine it’s too far away to be recognizable by the YouTube copyright system. There’s a blue flag up here. That’s for Vice City, though. Both of them do actually have the blue flag. highly sought after. Which is why though you’ll find these little information signs because in order to be a blue flag beach, you have to have an information sign up. It’s one of the criteria. I’m heading past Alexander the Great of the uh let’s call it Limaria Delta. Who says I don’t exaggerate? It’s where the river Limaria reaches the sea. There’s a jacuzzi over there. Kitty’s pool too. You get a nice shot of the uh uh lighthouse beyond the restaurants and flats of the hotel strip from here. You see it’s over there directly ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Well, a substantial uh water sport section here which disappears completely uh during the winter months. Yeah. Down there is where the limon area flows out. I’m not going to walk down to show you cuz uh not that much to see. There’s another lifeguard cuz up here is another blue flag beach which is tiny. I’m actually going to walk down these steps for a change. Yeah, they end up they normally stay up top, but there are a load of people there. So So yes, that’s the portable water sport center. We’ve seen turtles uh in the sea around here when we swam in the past, so bear that in mind if you’re wanting to see them. If you do see them when you’re swimming though, don’t touch them or try and feed them. Just appreciate their beauty from afar. And if you like our films, please do subscribe to our YouTube channel and click on the notifications bell if you can find it. I never can, but doesn’t cost you anything to subscribe to subscribe. And it does help us out, I can assure you. So, please do so. And soon we will be releasing the 2026 Cathos live calendar and you’ll be able to get it there. So keep an eye out for that. And also uh if you use Amazon at all, you can help us out by uh I’m not putting a link up for this. Just look in the description and there’ll be a link there. I’m not putting the link up because it will just be random Amazon.co followed by random characters. So it’s not very legible. But in the top of the description, there’ll be a link. And if you’re going to go on to Amazon, click on that link to take you on to Amazon. And then if you buy something there, you’ll be using our affiliate code and we’ll get a little commission. But it all helps. And if you’re going to go on to Amazon anyway, it won’t be costing you anything. So, please consider using that as an option to help us. And now we’re coming up to the Almyra Hotel. which is very nice. Food in there is lovely as well. It’s the in-laws stay there when they come and visit. They always invite us in for a meal. Very nice of them. And if you’re gluten intolerant or see the do have separate menus, etc. as well. the rest of the water sports and you got a big anchor there as well. Not sure what the story behind that is. And now this up here, you can see another blue flag. This is Alike Beach, the original with an E S at the ending, as opposed to the I the which is popped up in Clark. Why are they kept the same name? I don’t know. I trying to confuse people into thinking that that was blue flag, too. In fact, this is the one’s blue flag. Most people where you can see they tend to go swimming in it uh from the little jetty rocky jetty over there rather than here. We’re more likely to have sunbavers here. We come out from the Almyra or the Annabel Hotel. I certainly like cooling down over that bit over there. You can see the castle in the distance. They got the stage up cuz uh they had Carmon there last month. At the end of this month, it’s going to be Zor with the Greek ballet. And you can imagine how popular that’s going to be. Indeed. I think they were already pretty much sold out. And tickets weren’t cheap either. I looked on the ticket site and like uh you could easily spend like 100 €150 on a ticket as I said. Well, you couldn’t actually cuz they’re pretty much sold out. Here’s its blue flag information sign. And now you got the Hotel Annabelle on the right. Somebody was asking uh how central the Annabelle was. Well, you can’t really get any more central for a hotel. I mean, you got the apartments above the restaurants on the seafront itself, but uh you got the Dion is central, I suppose. Other than that, the Annabelle’s as close as you can get to it. So yeah, look at the swimmers on the beach. It’s good to see that lower boys there cuz that’s where the water sports boat can’t go to. I’m making mental notes so that I I know that when I’m flying the drone because obviously if I’m flying the drone and there’s uh power glider about I need to be aware of them. Right. I’m going to walk as I normally do to the platform above the changing area. So I don’t accidentally film anyone in the shower. Oh, it’s hot. I’m definitely feeling it now. I mean, I got one more film to do after this walking down seafood and harbor itself. I’ll be quite glad when I get to the end. So, we’ll mind the step. We’ll go up here. Actually, I might as well walk to the end of the seafront from here. And then they’re turning into a lobster. And this place is on the market apparently. is very expensive. Someone actually looked it up. Should have asked them what their acceptable price would have been. Some lovely flower beds here. All you can eat pizza 850 a person. Must be a little bit of red uh small print there. Valid only for dying Monday to Thursday. [Music] This pizza is quite filling anyway. If it’s all you can eat steak for 850, you’d have to question the meat sauce, then wouldn’t you? Anyway, there’s Bier restaurant and this is the ste seafront. The tea for two. And that’s time for me to say goodbye. and I’ll see you in the next film. [Music]
Our Seaside yomp continues today, with a walk from the Antasia Beach Bar at SODAP Beach to Paphos Sea Front. This takes us past the Amavi, Alexander the Great, Almyra and Annabelle Hotels.
