Santorini Travel Tips | How to Experience Greece’s Most Beautiful Island to the Fullest

[Music] [Music] Hi everyone, my name is Bert Reynolds and I welcome you to today’s video where we’ll explore one of the most romantic places in the world, Santorini. White houses, blue domes, and endless sea views. This island will stay in your heart forever. Now, you might be wondering how to get there if you want the fastest option. You can fly directly. There are seasonal flights from Prague or Vienna, and the trip takes about 2 and 1/2 hours. But if you’d like to save some money, you can fly via Athens and then continue either by a small plane or by ferry. It takes a bit longer, but it’s also part of the adventure, especially if you spend a day or two exploring Athens. [Music] A good accommodation choice can make the difference between dreaming and just praying for another coffee. Let’s explore the contrast between luxury lodging and cozy inland stays on Santorini. For example, Santo Pur oya suites and villas in Oya can cost around $279 per night for a double room. Top tier resorts with private infinity pools, sea views, upscale wellness, and bespoke services can go significantly higher. The perks include stunning sunsets, exceptional service, privacy, and full amenities, but with trade-offs, high cost, tourist crowds, and needing to book very early. In smaller villages or further from main viewpoints, you’ll find guest houses and apartments for $40 to $100 per night. For instance, in Emroiggley or territories away from the cliffs, studio or family apartments are much more budget friendly. Inland lodging tends to offer quiet nights and lower cost, but you’ll accept limited or no calera views and more commuting to main attractions. Things to weigh. Location. Staying on the Calera is spectacular, but also pricier and busier. Views versus comfort. Some rooms may lack panoramic views, but provide air conditioning, breakfast, and peace. Seasonality prices can jump two to three times in peak months July to August compared to offseason. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Santorini isn’t only about stunning sunsets from Oya. It’s about everything you can explore beyond the postcard views. If you have a few extra days, I truly recommend a caldera cruise, ideally at sunset. You can book these trips directly on the beaches, but often it’s cheaper and safer through trusted platforms like get your guide or Ver where you can pick based on your budget and mood. From private yachts with dinner to group tours with swimming in the hot springs. Another great idea is a volcano hike on Na Kamei or a winery tour, for example, Santo Wines, where you can taste excellent local wine while overlooking the sea. And if your budget or expectations are a bit different, write to me in the comments.
