3 UNEXPECTED Differences between Okinawa and Japan!

three unexpected differences between Okinawa and Japan number one Shaw decorations you’ll think you landed in a completely different country when you go to Okinawa from Japan the architecture is so different with its Chinese influences shown in the stonework and the bright tiled rubs but the most iconic decorations here are the guardians of Okinawa these are the shaw dog Lions they come in pairs one with an open mouth to ward off bad spirits and one with a closed mouth to keep in good spirits they’re put in front of entrances of just about anywhere you can think of number two the car culture you may be a little disappointed if you come to Okinawa after getting used to trains going everywhere in Mainland Japan there’s only one train line here and sadly it only covers a few stops so you’ll need a car if you want to travel around similar to America there are many more people here who own cars and more Road Lanes compared to Mainland Japan number three A&W Okinawa is the only place in Japan that has AWS A&W failed in Mainland Japan but somehow managed to find a foothold in Okinawa which is especially amazing since many Japanese people don’t like root beer

  1. American marine soldiers are fucking terrible. They rape Japanese girls, murder local people every year. Then, they are always saying we are protecting Japanese. We commite crimes and run away to camp, fly to the states. They become innocent. Nasty.

  2. The reason for open mouth and closed mouth animal figures in front of the shrines is following:
The life begins with a scream A (open mouth) and it ends with N (closed mouth).
That is the same as the japanese alphabet which begins also with A and ends with N

  3. Bruh I just watch the new Anime talks about a normal Japanese kid live in okinawa

Now I kinda curious about Okinawa nai
    I love Osaka dialect
    Now Okinawa dialect 😮😮

  4. I moved to Japan, and I miss A&W 😭 I remember eating it at malls with my family it was a restaurant filled with memories for me, I wish they had it here

  5. Wow cool, they have an A&W in Okinawa?! Nice!
Huh most Japanese people don’t like root beer? Huh that’s a shame, they are missing out on root beer floats.
Then again, they are most likely saying the same thing about me missing out on something from Japan.
I’m definitely missing out on those plastic fingered gloves.

  6. Maybe because there are a large minority of american marines sailors and airmen stationed in okinawa that A&W survived…and american culture since the 1940s..

  7. I love the video but Okinawa is in Japan… so I think you ment to say the difference between Okinawa and Kyoto or something. Sorry if I misunderstood but if I did could you explain thank you! (No hate!!)

  8. I always love how frontiers mesh with both countries involved, hokkaido is russian infused and okinawa is super chinese influenced. I wonder how their food is affected too, worth giving a try

  9. Okinawans should know that your real name is Ryukyu. If you knew your own history, you would understand that the name Okinawa is evidence of Japan's invasion of your territory and massacre of Ryukyuans. Ryukyu does not belong to Japan, it is an independent country
