An October Drive Through Ayia Napa – With Commentary!
Hi, this is Dominic from Pathos Life and we’re starting with a nice view of the sculpture park from below it and we’re going to have a drive through Ironappa. So, let’s have a map up of the route and we’re starting off by the Love Bridge below the sculpture park heading into the center of Iron Nappa having a quick detour to go and have a look at the harbor. Then we’re going along the main coast road all the way up to Nissai Beach. And we’ll be stopping in the car park just there. [Music] Just uh at the love bridge which is down here. Another bumpy bit to avoid. Yep. Love bridge is straight on the other side of the road here. And there’s Iapper in all his glory on your left. I’m basically going to drive through the center of that all the way up to Nissai Beach. Then I’m going to fly the drone and hope there’s no more GPS blocking that they used to have when we were up here last time. I’ve been monitoring the GPS on the phone and that’s been fine. So, we should be fine now. There’s more of the sculpture park on the right. Well worth a visit if you come to Nappa. I mean, I know inapp has got a reputation as like a all parties and everything, but it’s not just that. If you want a bit more uh to do and walk to wall partying, there’s a sculpture park. There’s numerous archaeological sites. There’s a very nice uh aqueduct Down here on the right, we’ll go past. There’s someone car getting ready to take a bride out. Now, I can’t give you the definitive guide to because I don’t really know the area that well other than where I go on my uh excursions when we come here. But I did do a road trip ebook which you can check out. There’ll be a link in the description which covers inappa patas and parimny. I’ll give you a very nice list of things to do if you’re hiring a car in the area. I always recommend if you come to Cypus to hire a carbo get out and see the island. I mean, nothing beats discovering an old village somewhere with a delicious tavern in it. Getting a time when they’re actually open as well. Careful all the zebra crossings. Don’t want to run over anybody. I guess it’s safe to say that there’s a supermarket on the right. A two-day I’m not exactly sure what they mean by a two-day supermarket or whether it’s just a brand name. Anyway, if I remember correctly, just on the right up here, there’s a little pathway which goes to the aqueduct. Yeah, there’s a big sign up there now for it as well. Well worth a look. life form. So anyway, I appreciate the fact that they put a big sign up there. Okay, we’re going this way. I’m never sure on my journeys uh what route I’m going to end up taking. Neither are they. It seems the liquid cafe and bar. I will do a nighttime drive around here, I think, tonight with the camera to see what that looks like. In this roundabout, we’re going to be going left. And you can see the famous I love Ironappa sign is on the right. Now a lot of people about half 10 now in the morning. Weddings there. We had side there was big baker there. Lots of bunting out. Not sure what for. Now ultimately we’d want to be going right here to take us to Nissai Beach, but I’m going to go further down and have a little drive around the harbor first. Give you a value for money. Just waiting for the lights to turn. Yes, there’s a fair crowd here in uh Iron Ail. I mean, I’d imagine uh in the autumn half term there’s going to be a lot more people here again, but uh same in Pathos Dainci Mediterranean and cuisine. If you saw Da Vinci in Pathos, you’d expect to get ice cream there. International Sculpture and Cactus Park. Probably just come from there. I’m not going to go back there. There’s a big cost of coffee on the way. So, all the bus stops here are very uh popular. They got lots of people waiting. As I said though, if you can hire a car, it’s a nice roundabout. More statues in it. I think this takes me to the uh harbor area. Yeah. Yes. Normally I’d have Alex with me uh providing a bit of the harbor’s on the left there providing me with some assistance on the navigation. I’m going to go straight this way because there’s a lovely statue here. I don’t know what the cobbles is going to be doing to the uh I’ll try and get main off the cobbles as much as possible to the stabilization. Try and have a look at that as we drive past it. Interesting view there. [Music] So, apologies again if there’s a bit of a wobble. BS Alex was feeling a bit under the weather. So, I’ve left her and the daughter back at the house. Strict instructions. And when we get back, I’m taking the daughter swimming. Snorkeling. We saw uh some squids, little baby squids in the sea last night, which is a treat. I’ve never seen them before. And I’ve seen them obviously on a plate, but that’s not the same thing as it really. It’s weird though how you get uh attached to seeing things like we always see little puffer puffer fish there and on the beaches uh near the beaches rather and uh we feed them all to get like muscles from u the rocks and feeds them to them every time we go. But we never seen seen a squid before and we saw is that a lion fish as well? And there’s a lot more fish there than there’ve been. I mean, admittedly, we haven’t been this time a year before either. Now, those buses want to go past. Are they indicating anything? Nope. I’m guess that they’re stopped. Top tip that if you want to get past, you should be indicating. Well, now we’re going left again. If you remember the traffic light where I said I’d normally turn right here. We’re back on that road now. Just a little bit further up. Joy Road. Traditional drive. Diesel only the brave I presume. I want the hair. I thought it was a hairdressers, but Bedrock Cafe Flintstones in Pathos has got a competition. Now, between here and Nissi Beach is another beach that’s very popular because it has an well, there’s more than one beach, but one in particular has an underwater sculpture park, which if you’re keen on snorkeling is worth checking out, or if you can go on an organized trip to it with proper scuba equipment, I guess. But we like our snorkels. Now again, I might drive past it because uh I’m on me own and I haven’t got my wife pointing out landmarks. Fair amount of joggers about. Good to see. Not my cup of tea, I have to say. don’t mind going on very long walks, but uh right, we’re coming up to that beach. Yeah, I just saw a sign for it. Musan. There it is. Museum of Underwater Sculpture down there. Let’s start doing some hedge cutting. Watch out for more speed bumps. So yeah, this is what Ironappa looks like early October midm morning. Got a bit of a limp. Hope you get better soon. Halis Alion Supermarket. There’s a big hotel on the left. It looks like Pavlo Nappa Beach Hotel. See if I can find the correct turning for Nissai Beach. Sandy Bay Village. Joker Square. Oh, crossing being observed. Always good to see. Now, the road I want for Nissai Beach is between two hotels. I remember that much. Nissai Beach Resort. I’m getting closer. guy and scooter bugging away next to me. There’s traffic lights here. little junction to get onto the motorway. The big chemist there on the right. Perfect gift for the person in your life who loves pathos. I know we’re in Iron A, but I do go out occasionally. Now I think the turning is just before Adam’s Beach Hotel. What’s just after? I think this is it here. Nice if they put a sign up though, wouldn’t it? And here you have Misai Beach. Missai Bay Beach Bar. Hope you enjoyed that drive aroundappa. Find somewhere to park now so I can fly my drone. Okay, thanks for watching. Cheers. [Music]
