Cruising the river Seine from Honfleur (km354) to Paris (km6). Now at km71, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine

It is the 3rd of October 2025 and this is an update about Lady Leelot cruising the sane from La A towards Paris in yes France and as you can see I am mored next to a key in a city and since a couple of minutes it started to train. This morning we left um the uh mooring spot after the uh acclus very very calm and nice area. It was almost nature. And now we are at our destination and that is called Confling. I think that you pronounce it that way. And as you could see, I am next to the key next to a road. There is even a fast food restaurant on 300 m from Lady Liselot. But yeah, I will uh prepare my own food. Of course. Of course, I will prepare my own food. Yeah, we are at kilometer 71. So that means that we still have approximately 50 km to go before we are at our final destination of this journey. The engines ran as they were supposed to be. Uh, I am a happy sailor because it is a very calm trip and look into my look look into my eyes. The inflammation is gone. Yeah. So, no bananas for me anymore. Now, we know for sure that the bananas cause all kinds of allergic reactions and that um looks very silly and feels painful. Anyhow, well, anything else to say? Nope. We will continue tomorrow and then um I will create another update. How about that? Do I see you in tomorrow’s update? All right then. Bye-bye.

Being Dutch I am used to find mooring- and/or anchor spots every so many kilometers, but on the River Seine, there are not many. You hardly see any pleasure boats on the Seine River. There’s not much to do besides just cruising back and forth. There are a few sailing clubs, a single rowing club, and in the days I’ve been sailing on the Seine, I’ve only seen six fishermen in a skiff, commercial barges, and Seine cruise boats. So I travel 50 to 60 km every day, just so I can moor at the next mooring. This time on a quay in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

In Summer of 2023 I had the plan to sail from The Netherlands, to Belgium and then to England to visit London. But 2023 brought a Summer full of hard wind and bad weather, so I had to cancel that plan.
In beginning of 2025, I introduced the plan to sail motorvessel Lady Liselot to The Med, The Mediterranean. Since this trawler yacht has an airdraft of 5.3m with the mast down, I can only reach The Med, by sea or by the river Danube. I decided to pick the most challenging route: Via The North Sea, The Channel, which later becomes The Atlantic Ocean.
But, that brave decission caused a lot of stress in my head, causing weeks of procrastination.
Weeks became months.
BUT, on one point in August 2025, I decided: “F*CK IT, JUST DO IT”.
All this also caused that I decided not to produce any longform videos. The footage is there, but whilst travelling, I want to be in the journey and not being a content producer.

Part of my procrastination is the ‘fear’ of not knowing what will happen when I arrive somewhere. I claim I am searching for new destinations, but that sentence is way, way out of my comfort zone. Because of my ASS, new destinations always create underlying stress. The problem is that I often have 10 scenarios planned out in my head, which then turn out to be completely inaccurate in practice.

  1. Wonder if sailing alone on a sea going vessel big as yours, is a 'stress full' job. Takes some concentration, planning, work, fysical aswell as mental a decent job I think. Safe travels anyhows.

  2. Mr. Henk, you make it look like it is easy. Doing it on your own, I know you have a lot of experience. You always got a smile and you always have joyful character. That's why I like your videos. God bless you Mr. Henk and keep you safe.
