Woke up naturally this morning. Let’s see what the view outside the window looks like. This is the view from the bed, looking out the window. It’s a bit like the place we stayed in Spain back then, on the Camino de Santiago. But that one was rented on a whim, quite by chance. We canceled other big-city bookings temporarily. Just walked there and stayed two nights. Now let’s open the window and take a look outside. This is what morning looks like in Provence. It’s morning, not dawn. Because now the sun’s already up, actually. Maybe tomorrow we can get up earlier, and record what dawn looks like to show everyone. This is the outside view. Now I realize, Provence is famous not only for lavender, but also for its vineyards. Turns out this region produces mainly white wine. I wonder if they all have a hint of lavender aroma. Here’s another window. It’s the one beside our bed. Wow, it looks like a painting inside a frame. Down there you can see our big black car. Because we parked it downstairs. If you look out the window, this is what you see. If you open the other window, let’s take a look… Wow… it’s simply… You can admire masterpieces without even leaving the house. Do you know why there are so many great paintings from here? Because every window opens to a landscape. From inside the house looking out, the window frame itself is like a picture frame. It perfectly frames the scenery outside. If you shift the angle slightly, the framed view changes completely. So when artists paint here, it’s hardly creation at all— they’re simply copying what’s right before them. Anyone with a bit of skill in sketching, could easily produce a beautiful painting. This is our balcony. Part of it is completely open-air. Why don’t we fly the drone and take a look at the surroundings? This is the manor we’re staying in. Across the road are two other estates. Seems this village has plenty of countryside lodgings. Here we can see a vast vineyard. This should be the panoramic view of the whole village. The village isn’t big. Maybe around twenty buildings in total. And over there is a neatly arranged olive grove. We’ve visited Burgundy and Bordeaux before, where vineyards are everywhere. But now we’ve come to Provence, expecting lavender fields, yet still surrounded by vineyards. Wow… this estate is impressive. Definitely a luxury villa! Alright, we’re back at our own manor. Looking at it this way, it’s not small at all. Let’s also revisit the moment we arrived last night. And do a quick room tour. We finally reached the hotel before dark. This is the hotel we’ll be staying in from tonight. Feels a bit like a small resort. Here. The spiral staircase is right here. We’re on the second floor. Here it is… Yes, that’s it. Nine, ten, here it is. Room nine, the key… the door wasn’t closed… After a long search, we finally found our room. Let me give you a room tour. This is a countryside hotel in Provence. It’s kind of like… well, not exactly a resort, but quite well equipped, almost like one. The whole estate feels like a small manor. Not quite a resort. Entering the door… Hmm… a chaise lounge by the sofa. And a small coffee table. This gray tone gives such a rustic countryside vibe. Here’s a huge cabinet. Wow… everything’s fully equipped here. Wine glasses, plates—basically everything you could need. On top there are plenty of trays, bowls, and jars. And then… This side is the kitchen. Kitchen, sink… and below here are some cleaning supplies. And then… Oil… Vinegar… This should be salt. Everything’s ready. Towels, cookware… Here’s the fridge. And this is the dishwasher. Hmm… can I turn the light on? Ah, it works—great. Toaster… Coffee machine… Electric kettle… All the pots and pans are complete. Here we have… various jams. This should be apricot jam, right? I think so. And coffee capsules too. That’s just perfect. These two bottles of water are ours. And then… There’s a balcony outside. Yes, another balcony. Alright, let’s see… This is the living room. A very old-fashioned TV. Oh… there’s Netflix! Let’s look at this window… Wow… the view outside is stunning! It’s like… Tomorrow morning when we open the window, we’ll see the Provence countryside right away. Ah… such idyllic scenery. We’re really living in the countryside now. Here’s an old-looking cabinet. And this is our bed. There’s a large storage closet here. We’ve already stuffed our luggage inside. Two suitcases fit in easily. All our bags fit as well. The bed looks quite comfortable. And it faces directly toward the countryside view. Feels absolutely amazing. And here’s a mirror. These decorations… make the bed look like something from a palace when filmed. Bathtub… And another window here. Our car’s parked below. Yes, our black Tesla’s right down there. Oh, better not open it. Looks like there are lots of mosquito-like insects flying around. And this is the view outside. Bathroom… This should work as both a shower and a sit-down bath. Yes, both. But you’ll need to pull the curtain down. Otherwise the water will splash out. Though it looks nice, the design prioritizes beauty over practicality. Stylish, but not convenient to use. Here’s the sink. And this must be the toilet. Toilet confirmed. The whole place seems built on top of an old house. What’s this? Is it a washing machine? Doesn’t look like one. It’s a water heater. There’s even a hairdryer up top. But the door design is quite hard to open. OK… Not bad overall. The room is quite spacious. It says only 28 square meters, but it feels almost as big as the 40-square-meter one we stayed in earlier in Alsace. Oh right— Because our previous place didn’t have a balcony. That one didn’t come with a balcony. Back then, we just had a small courtyard outside. But this one has a balcony. Let’s go out and take a look. It’s still a bit cool this time of year. But it’s really beautiful. Provence in the evening glow. Let me show you what’s inside the cupboard. Wow… everything is so complete! Look, it’s the first time I’ve seen beer glasses here, along with water glasses, wine glasses, and champagne flutes. Even coffee cups. Bowls… This one’s a salad bowl. Racks. Cutlery. Also spoons and plates. And an ice bucket. And a water jug. Below are saucepans and frying pans. Wow, seriously… There are even strainers— for washing vegetables. They even have graters for carrots or other vegetables—anything you’d want to shred. So impressive, really. And here, you can see scissors, a whisk… miscellaneous tools, bottle openers… and corkscrews. Wow, they have everything. It’s unbelievably well-equipped. Truly impressive. The host really put so much thought into every detail. It’s early morning now. My wife hasn’t finished her work yet. So I’ll go ahead and do the laundry first. Because there’s only a public laundry room here. I need to go find it. You see the other courtyards? They all have open garden areas. We have a balcony instead, which is actually quite nice. Reception should be around here, I think. Maybe it’s over there? Everything’s so well-equipped. There are three washing machines here. Oh wait, one’s a dryer, and two are washers. Looks like I can wash two loads at once. There are even detergent pods and everything else provided. So I basically don’t need to bring anything down here. That’s awesome. There’s also a really nice ironing table here. Perfect for ironing clothes. OK, OK, OK… Perfect! Alright, I can do two loads at the same time. Now I’ll put all the clothes in first. Since I have two machines, I can separate the colors. OK. Everything’s great overall. Two washing machines, and one dryer. But there’s no sink to wash your hands. That’s typical for French or European laundry rooms. So actually, if you’ve seen our previous Thailand video, you’ll notice Thai laundromats always have sinks. That’s more in line with what we’re used to in Asia. Alright, we’re done here. Now let’s go check out the courtyard. This is their reception. Then we can take a look around the area. Wow… this is the courtyard where we’re staying. And look over here— there’s an outdoor terrace. Not sure if anyone’s staying there. It’s so comfortable here. The weather’s still a little cool today, around twenty degrees or so. Wow, look! Wow, there are cherries! That’s amazing! The only thing here in the countryside is—lots of bugs and mosquitoes, especially flies. Haha… These cherries… They’re so ripe they’re bursting on the tree, and no one’s picking them! Incredible. Look at that… That’s the house we’re staying in. The one with all the ivy climbing up the wall. And it has a balcony. Down below, this whole area is a big garden courtyard. That path over there— that’s where the cherry tree is. And all these broom flowers are in full bloom. Just finished doing laundry. Heading back now. They actually provide laundry bags here. For example, each room number has one— like we’re Room 3, so we can take Bag No. 3. You just put your clothes in and leave them at the laundry room. After washing, they’ll put them back inside. Well, after they’re washed— the staff will bring them back. But honestly, those cloth bags don’t seem very clean… So, I didn’t use them. Got up at seven this morning, and didn’t go out until noon when the sun was the strongest. That shows just how much we crave sunlight. Alright, that’s it for this video.
