India to Japan | Flight, Visa, Immigration, Hotel & How to Reach City Centre From Tokyo Airport?

Namaste guys and welcome back to the channel Travelling Banda on YouTube I have just arrived at Mumbai’s international airport and today my journey is going to one of the most Awaited destination at least of my life, which is Japan So now I am going to tell you in this video that if you want to go to Japan So including your flights, your visa, your immigration, how will this whole process be and how to reach to the city center From the airport along with all the necessary information. So let’s not waste any more time. Let’s start this video. Let’s go So India’s exit immigration was very simple, even the airline did not ask anything, did not even check the visa Because you are online before boarding, there is a pre-arrival registration form of Japan I am putting the link in the description, you have to fill it and all your details including your passport and visa number is put in that So everything is updated digitally People have made such a fuss about Japan’s visa that it’s a difficult visa to get Actually, Japan is a very process-oriented country So if you give its paperwork as you can see on the screen right now, you will get your visa in 5 to 7 working days Just submit this document at the embassy, VFS or any agency and you’re good to go Apart from this, you also have to see its full-length application process, so I have also made a separate video of it You can see it on the i button or in the playlist section after this video, do check it out I have got a single entry visa for 15 days and its official fee is only 500 rupees But if you add agency fees or VFS fees, it becomes around about three and a half thousand rupees I have got this visa through Ria Travels, which is an agency close to my home And I got my visa in a week So let’s activate our eSIM first, I have bought this from Klook It’s a 15-day 30 GB data, all you have to do is when you make a payment from the app or website You have to scan this QR code and then it just automatically sets up and this roundabout cost me 3,500 rupees So my airline is Cathay Pacific and my flight is connecting Which will take me from Hong Kong to Tokyo, Narita airport So first of all, my first leg of the journey will be Mumbai to Hong Kong Which is a five and a half hour flight, a one and a half hour layover in Hong Kong And from there, I have a six-hour flight to Tokyo This is in a single PNR, so all the baggage has been checked in in Bombay I will meet you directly in Tokyo at Narita airport The most expensive component of going to Japan is flight and the flights are not short as well Direct flight takes you about eight hours and it mainly runs from Delhi And its flight fare is around 50,000 to 55,000 rupees And apart from this, my flight from Mumbai was a connection flight So you have to fly out through Singapore and Hong Kong And my ticket cost me around 48,000 rupees Which wasn’t cheap and I had booked it in advance So understand that and book your tickets accordingly for your Japan trip So after travelling for about 15 hours, catching two flights and a layover I have reached Tokyo at the Narita International Airport So nice, they have already kept their bags here And the bags have also arrived super fast On the contrary, the immigration line was very long and it took me so much time So the immigration line was very long You have to keep in mind, as I told you in the earlier segments of the video That you have to fill out the Japan Arrival Card, which also includes your customs declaration You have to generate the QR for that Even if you don’t have it, it’s not a big deal, you can fill out the form here And if you fill it out, you will save time There was nothing in the immigration line, you have to show the QR code of the Japan Arrival Card And it is done, and you come out here in the general arrival area There are sim vending machines at the airport as well, but I found it a bit expensive So I am pretty happy with my eSIM So if you are coming to Japan and bringing cash, you will get currency exchange stores at the airport Currency exchange is fair here If you can bring Japanese Yen from India, it will be better If you are getting US Dollars in your area, bring that and get it exchanged here That makes your life a lot more easier So let’s withdraw cash and see what charges we are going to get If we have to withdraw money from here Okay, so the withdrawal amount here is 20,000 Japanese Yen for 20,000 Japanese Yen And 110 Japanese Yen for 10,000 Japanese Yen So I am thinking of withdrawing 20,000 Japanese Yen first Here comes the cash 20,000 Japanese Yen So this is Japanese currency, and this is 20,000 Japanese Yen Which is roughly 12,000 Japanese Yen So the currency looks like this, we will have to get it exchanged Keep in mind that Japan is still a predominantly cash-based economy So you are going to get cash almost everywhere Of course, you can get a card in big stores And to withdraw this money, I have used my Forex card Even before leaving India, I used my HDFC multi-currency Forex card Which has almost 22 types of currency reloaded, including Japanese Yen So I topped it up directly You can do it with a credit card, debit card, UPI, or any other card And I have withdrawn the money here So what you are seeing behind me is Narita Airport’s bus service Which takes you to the city centre Let me tell you that to reach the city centre, there are two options Basically there are three options, but there are two cheaper options Train, and the second one is bus Bus being the cheapest one of them all The third option is to take a taxi But taxis in Japan are super expensive And if you want to reach the city centre from the airport to any place in Tokyo It is going to cost you Rs. So you decide that you have enough money to spend If you want to go on a budget like me, then take a bus The advantage of taking a bus is that it takes you to the city centre in 2 hours And as I have booked my first night stay in Shinjuku So in my research, I came to know that this bus takes you very close to my stay So I have booked my airport shuttle bus through Klook As you can see on the screen, it is very convenient From any terminal or airport you are landing, you can get a bus from there very easily And the fare is also very reasonable And if you use my code, CHALOLETSGOATCHECKOUT, you will get a 10% discount My bus fare is Rs. I had kept a gap so that in case the flight gets delayed or it takes a lot of time in immigration So according to that So now I will tell you the alternative options Like the train also goes to the city centre But there is a small problem with that Which I am going to tell you now, so stay tuned The Skyliner train service that you are seeing behind me goes from the airport to the city centre One issue with this is that I was doing my research while booking That it takes you to different stations in the city centre If you have a major station where you are staying, then your life becomes easier Like I am in Shinjuku right now So from here to Shinjuku where I am staying, I had to change 3 trains And then it could get really confusing on taking a bag like this every time It can be really difficult So for this, I have not opted for this option So depending on where your hotel is, you can choose the best option But I definitely felt that the bus was a better option It actually dropped me to the doorstep of where I wanted to reach And if you want to book this train ticket, you will get it on Klook My code is chaloLetsGo, and you will also get a 10% discount So now let’s go, in a while my bus is going to take me to the city centre I will show you the whole journey And the place where I am staying is also a fantastic place If you are travelling alone like me, you are going to really absolutely enjoy that place Because it’s a crazy, crazy, crazy place So the ticket to Klook is on pillar number 16, it has shown My bus is 4.20pm It is roughly 3.30pm now Let’s see if I can get on board quickly on this bus Wow, the bus is amazing And my seat is also here So the bus came on time, the seat was also allotted The bus will start in a while, and we will reach in about 1.5 hours To our final destination, where we are staying at Shinjuku Wow, it was a very pleasant journey Please keep in mind that Narita Airport is quite far from the city center, be it Shibuya or any other place All in all, the journey was very nice. The bus driver was also very nice. He took out his bag for us It’s very pleasant. What they say about Japan is very true People are very nice up until now, at least in the first 3 hours So, we have just checked in to our budget hotel. Let me give you a tour It’s quite budget friendly, but at the same time, it’s not budget friendly because it’s Tokyo So, this is our bed. It’s quite cozy. There’s a lot of space here There are a lot of hangers and storage lockers. It’s very nice Let me give you a tour of the shower area. There’s an AC in the washroom There’s a full-on scene here. There’s a hand wash, a moisturizer, a toner and everything It’s all branded stuff. This is the shower area This is one of the most spacious shower areas I’ve ever seen in a hostel There’s a soap, shampoo, conditioner and a separate area to keep your stuff All in all, it’s a full-on vibe. It’s a top experience for the price that you’re paying to stay in this hostel In such a city center, in such a prime location I’ve put a link in the description if you want to book it. You can do it when you’re planning a trip to Japan So, this was the whole video guys. I hope you got all the information If you want to come to Japan from India, then how can you come here? I’ve shown you the arrangements for the stays as well This journey has just begun and there are a lot of videos to come I have to explore Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima as well as Kyoto So, stay tuned for the whole series. See you in the next video. Stay safe, Travelling Banda out!

  1. Is it possible to fly to South Korea from India and from there to Japan and then back to india in this way it will be cheap and I can travel two countries ❀❀ planning for this please reply it will be great help

  2. You are a fantastic guy from minute thing to main required you explain as always. Two to three countries I followed you honestly. You flight ticket one way or round trip cost that is 48k

  3. I need to clarify something crucial for the viewers: you don’t need a lot of cash. Japan accepts mobile IC cards like Suica and Icoca almost everywhere. My wife and I have visited Japan over 20 times in the past 25 years, and we barely used cash on our recent trips.
