France in a Motorhome with 2 dogs! Part 1

Welcome back to the channel. We are finally off on our holiday to France. The Changs are going on holidays, ain’t they, love? It is. It’s um October 3rd. We’re just coming from the CAMC Dale Acres campsite in Folkston. Really good. 20 minutes away from um from Folkston. Yeah. And we we had a bit of a delay this time, didn’t we? Getting on Euro Tunnel, which is really unusual. Usually we get on an earlier train, but it’s only about an hour. It’s still the best way to travel, I think. Really good. [Music] [Music] Where are we, Laura? We’re on the Channel Tunnel at last. Like two hours late. I’ve never known it to be late before. No. Never been late, is it? No. Capacity issues, but we’re good. We just tried to make a cup of tea and we had a big fail. Yep. So, I’m going to go and do the spotlights. Okay. The Euro lights. Yep. And then we are going to crack on with our nearly 3 week tour of France. The boys all excited. Yeah. Jeff. Jeffrey standing up and he shouldn’t with his back. Yeah. Jeff has been really ill as explained in our last video. His cubs. He’s over by there. Cubs on hunger strike. Yeah, we’ve got nice roast chicken for him. Proper roast chicken. Not interested. Are you babe? No. Right then. We are on the go. 20 minutes I reckon it takes. Don’t know. Let’s see. I think it was more like 35. Is it? All right. Let’s timer from now. [Music] So, we have just turned up to Lar Roelle. It is a beautiful day here. Nice and quiet as well. So, there’s a lot of tourism that is not happening this time of year. So, it’s really good for us. You’ve had muscles, salmon, graax, champagne, and as you can see, Jeffrey does not want to go in his buggy. He screamed like a little baby. So, we’re just going to have a little walk around and hopefully tire Jeffrey out so he can go into his buggy. Fingers crossed. [Music] still in Lar Shell And I managed to convince Chang to come on one of these big wheels that you get in cities and he usually hates it. Um but actually the sun’s shining and he’s he’s had a beer so he’s okay with it. Um €6. Is it €6 each and the dogs can go on and they were free. Um little glass barrier so it’s totally safe. super pretty and um just gives you really good views and made us realize we’d probably seen most of it um from the walk that we’ve just already done after lunch. So the other part of the city we we just decided, haven’t we? We’re not going to look around. So I think we’re probably going to head back to the camper [Music] and I’m going to come back tomorrow morning with the nice sunrise. Loving Larashelle. You sunny after a couple of rainy days. Jeffree is doing really well. Although uh too well he won’t go back into crab. This how we got to walk around Lar Roelle. He doesn’t want to go in his buggy. Jeffrey, hold on. Jeff, is is this how you like to be walked now? If you can’t walk and you’re saying no to your beggy, it’s poor dad having to do it. He looks so relaxed. Turn around. Back’s not relaxed. He looks like the cat who’s got the cream. Hey, have you just landed a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Oh dear. How long have we got to go? 10 minutes. Okie dokie. And then this one doesn’t know what’s going on. Where are you? Tubs. Hey. Yep. All right, let’s go. [Music] Good morning. Say good morning, Mr. Chime. Good morning. We’ve just left sunny Lar Roelle. We found the sun. Uh we stayed in a really good motor. It’s camping camping car air. Well, actually, no, that’s not true. It’s not a camping car air as in the one for the app. Um it’s but it’s a big air for motor homes about 3 km outside of Lar Roelle. You can’t see how many spaces are there, but there’s about 170. So, we just rocked up and it was fine. €14 for the night and it’s in a place called Port Nerf. Really good. No like showers or toilets, but um water, electricity, waste, all the usual stuff. So, we pulled out pictures as well, isn’t it? Nice big pictures. Yeah, really big pictures. And it was really quiet and it felt safe. So, really good. Lot lots of um motor homes. So, we’re we’re here in October. I suspect in August it might be really busy but anyway really good. So we’ve just left Lar Roelle and we’re heading to Eel Doaran. We It’s about an hour and a quarter away. Um and again because it’s October loads of the campsites are closed but and it’s only early October. So are we sixth sixth of October is it? 6th of October. So again we’re doing all the motor home airs. There’s no camping car in Ill Dilleron that we could see. So, we’ve just gone on to the Axi website and there’s lots um that seem to have like pictures for 150 160 motor homes. So, we feel quitely confident that we’ll get there. We will show you once we’re in. Um right. You going to say hello, Jeffrey? Hello. Oh, I thought you said me. Oh, no. It’s the dogs, not you. You say hi, Chad. Don’t know. And KBY’s down there somewhere. Can you see him? Sorry, guys. Great bit of footage. Right, I’ll just show you. Beautiful blue skies. Um, we’re on an N road. It’s tollfree. We’re trying to do as few tolls as possible because it gets quite expensive. Um, but actually down south it seems to be less tolls. It we really get trapped when we come out of Cala and kind of come down through Normandy and Britany and then it’s much easier to avoid them. Well, it is for us. Right. So, see you in an hour. Hi everyone. My expect. [Music] Can you see any pay station at the end of this bridge? [Music] No. Brilliant. [Music] Major fail by me. I just made Chang turn around because we went past an Ela clerk which is my favorite supermarket because it does really nice chicken and kebabs and cakey bits. I think it’s better than the car for and so we turned around came back on ourselves and it was a service station and for the first time ever we actually don’t need petrol. So um that went down well but luckily you needed a pit stop. A pit stop. You needed a wei. So, you know, silver silver lining and everything. So, we’re going to get back on the road. Yeah, we are back that way. Yeah, back that way. We’re not going to do a roundabout and come back down and do wibbly wobbly stuff. We’re not We’re going to go straight to the place where we’re going to pitch up for two days. Three days a day. Yes. Um Yeah. We’re only 13 minutes away. So, let’s see. Let hopefully we’ll go past a proper clerk. Yeah. And we’ll go straight past it. Then we’ll go round the roundabout, go back, and there’ll be nothing there. Story of my life. Yeah. It’s so hard being Mr. Chang. It is, isn’t it? It’s difficult. All right. Right. Ready to go? Yeah, I’m ready. Born ready. Right then. Let’s go. On the road again. Good. Oh, there’s an intermar. Do we want a pump? No, it says garage. Is it just garage? Yeah, just garage. Do you remember in El Ray there was a little um market within walking distance? That would be good. Find one because there we haven’t got any food. Well, we just have to eat out tonight. Yeah. You said we I don’t think we’re that far. So, we can just walk in. Yeah. We can we can park up now. Oh, yeah. There’ll be a little place in my yard film, wouldn’t that? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. I’ll say it now. right there and no it’ll change but when we went to Yilder there was loads of cyclists so everyone had to drive slow right didn’t there yeah but they went on the road they were they were crossing roads and all that weren’t they yeah it doesn’t see the same here not as busy but there’s lots cycle path parallel to the road I think it’s still known for a cycl Then yeah out hopefully we’ll be the tower will be like like e to walk and sit for the port wherever. Yeah I that’s what I’m picturing straight over there. I don’t know if packed this bag this morning but it’s a terrible job. It’s banging and grappling. Person who was supposed to pack it had one job while the other person did the other jobs. Don’t be too hard on yourself now. Come on. You did your best. Did you go and empty the waist today? No comments. Have a go. Right. I’m up. Right. You’re on stage, love. Go for it. I know. Oh, yeah. I may as well go. Yeah. May as well go and try and work it out. Do you want a card? Jeff’s day. I think you just need to take your ticket to be honest. Okay, hold on. They’re having to put in a code. Oh, this does. Oh, and then something goes. Do you think they give us a code? This feels really complicated. Okay, they’re through. Right, Jeffrey, stay where you are. Stay there, Jeff. [Music] Oh, everyone’s got their little TV satellites out. We can prow up if you want just for a laugh. Have we got one? We got TV. We just haven’t got a TV. We got a satellite. You know the cover where I keep all the media. Yeah. where you started putting your pasta in there. The pasta drawer. The pasta? No. Oh, yeah. The pasta. Oh, yeah. The overspill past. Yeah, the overspill. Past Laura. That looks like a sunny spot there. Yes. Second mess up of the day. We’ve turned up to the first mess up. You made me go around the roundabout. Yeah. And then down to a shop that wasn’t there. Yeah. Okay. All right. Second mess up of the day. Where are we? We’re in Boyard Veil, which is really lovely. I can imagine in August and July it’s beautiful here. But look at this. Look, it’s all closed. Everywhere. Everywhere’s closed. We found one restaurant and it’s doing a roaring trade cuz everyone’s going to it, but they can’t see us for 45 minutes and I’m chomping at the bed. So So we’re going to go to a supermarket like 15 minutes away. And then we’re going to stock up with wine. Wine, beer, food. And we’re just going to sit in the sunshine, aren’t we? because our pitch is beautiful. Um, yeah, and just eat and drink and enjoy it and pretend it’s still summer. So, we’re going to walk back to the motor home now through the ghost town. And Jeff has decided he doesn’t want to be in his pram anymore. Even though he’s like a little celebrity, everybody’s stopping. I think it’s who’s that crazy woman with the dog in a pram. And it makes it so much worse cuz when I get him out cuz he can do about 10 minutes walk, he looks like he’s normal. So, it looks like I’m in the weird woman with a normal dog in a Getting shattered up by loads of men and you. Oh, yeah. They love it. They do. It’s more the dog in the prow. It’s not me, guys. Come on then. Look at this. Really nice though. You can imagine it being really nice in the summer. Well, it’s it’s lovely now. Just go. [Music] [Applause] [Music] So that’s it for this video. Join us on our next one when we continue exploring Eel Dearon and then we head off towards the Pyrenees. [Applause] [Music]

We travel from Folkestone down to La Rochelle & Ile d’Oleron in Margot the MoHo and our 2 dogs, Geoff and Cybi
