“Osnabrück Germany Travel Vlog | Exploring the Hidden Gem of Lower Saxony”

[Music] Hello, welcome back to one of my videos. And today I’m in a small city and showing some small city love. Normally on this channel I would go to bigger cities in Germany like Munich, Berlin or in Amsterdam, Rotterdam all those big cities and sometimes I think smaller cities also deserve love. So this is why today I’m in a city called Osnner which is in Netheraxen in Germany. It is between Moonstone and Breman as the other two cities and surrounding area. Um, so we’re here to explore and we’re going to show you what it’s like in a smaller city in comparison to a bigger city in Germany. So starting in this main square is the dome St. Petrus which as most things in Germany is very very old. I think it’s been they started building this probably early 800s according to the history. So small parts would be start they would start building small parts and then over time would grow and grow and it would get destroyed and then they would also rebuild again. So this is not probably 100% original. Over the years this would have gone through a lot of transformation where it would have been destroyed and built again. But you can see it’s quite a large complex today and it’s a very good look very nice to look at. And ahead of us is another interesting looking church. If you look in the middle there, statue of Jesus. Look at this alleyways. Really seems like it come from a different era, a different time when people used to be on foot. No more cars, no vehicles, nothing. And this is really slim here. Yeah. It’ be really interesting to know how old this alleyway. Okay. I mean, it’s a little bit uninteresting now because it just took us to some back street. I’m slightly disappointed. I thought it would take us to a different world or something, but um here we still are. One thing I’ve realized being here is that it’s a very peaceful city so far. Um it doesn’t seem as um it doesn’t seem too busy in comparison to the bigger cities like Moon or so on. And there is still a nice um feeling to it. And it’s also one of the cities that has an old city which I’m looking for and some really great buildings. So the architecture in this in this part of the city looks really great. So again we come upon this really nice square which is wellmaintained very very clean and um not much happening but I do appreciate that sometimes I don’t think life should be always a hustle and a bustle sometime we should allow ourselves to take our time and enjoy the little things and little cities like this in Germany does allow you to do that but really really beautiful as well even the the roof has this interesting step like design to it. Um, and it really suits the city very very much. So the church we’ll be looking at here is the Marian Kin. It really stands out in the city. The only other inspired building here is the dome St. Petros but this one is Marian or St. Mary and Quisha and right next to it is a city hall. So, a lot of them is really in close proximity. Um, so I would assume that the city is not that big and it would be a really good place to come and um spend some time without exhausting yourself too much. So this fountain depicts some of the historical event that happened in Osenbrook back in the 1700s. Wow. Check this awesome building out. At the top there it says something like 1690. That really gives you an idea of how old things have been around here. Um, as you can tell, we’re kind of not not the back streets, but I would say still the back streets of Osenbrook. So, it would seem that every alleyway we walked down, you could find something extra. So, a little surprise here and there. And we just find this little We just found this place. a pub or a restaurant, but it looks like it’s from the stone ages. It looks like it’s from not this time, that’s for sure. Um, and it’s a great example of how really looks. I’m actually quite impressed because here there’s virtually no one else. As you can see, it’s so peaceful. And this alleyway goes all the way up this way as well. because I’ve been here before, but normally I’ve been to the front street and this is a great welcome surprise. [Music] Now moving into the new city, we found some little toys there or little thing to entertain ourselves. It’s like a tornado. It’s cool. M. Oh, the kid wants to play also. There he is. Go fighter. Fight her. That’s my exercise done for today. Not a lot at all. But now we’re moving into the new part of um of Osnbrook. And what it is, it looks actually really nice because um a few years ago the British army had a base here. So that did support a lot of the local economy. Now what would happen in some circumstances when the army leave and all that money leaves the cities sometimes struggle with the lack of that extra injection of cash but it seems like today on Brook has maintained itself and everything still looks quite good there isn’t much shops that’s closed down here as I said before it’s clean it’s peaceful and it seems like a nice place to hang [Music] One of the reasons why I like Osen Brook is because it actually has all the shops and stuff in it. And even though the location is not really near to any major cities. So I would say the closest city maybe to Osenbrook or major big city is maybe Dortmund um Cologne and further further away from here is maybe Hamburgers but once you come here you don’t really need to go anywhere else because all the big shops are here. Also they have a really new shopping center which is really nice. Yeah. So, in the shopping center they have like a full quart of food hall and then different stores. It goes up a few levels. I want to check out this sports store. I came here a few years ago and I found this surprise here and I think you guys will be surprised also of what is inside a shopping center. is tough lessons inside a shopping center. I’m not kidding you. Look, right next to it, they’re selling clothes and so on. Upstairs, clothes, bikes, whatever. So, right now, look at that. He’s not going to make it. Go on. Go on. Go on. So, I think the idea is to try to surf across. And there he goes. Steady, steady, concentrate. Would he make it? Oh, go on, lad. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Go on. Yeah. Whoever came up with this concept of softboarding inside is a damn genius. Not only does it look cool, it allows you to stay warm and utilize the space within a shopping center. It’s crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, I’ve just recharged myself and I realized one of the good things about being in Osnarbrook is that there’s so much different foods to eat here, especially inside the main shopping center. And um yeah, so much different food here that you’ll be spoiled for choice. But here’s a lovely quarter. Look at this area here. Small canal. A bit think rooftop bar or something up there. Yeah. So this statue is this was inaugurated in 1909 and it’s to remember the miners in Germany. It’s one of the oldest statues in Germany. Look at it. Big and strong. Still working hard. Now is he peeing or not? Look at this guy. Tell me about it. There’s a statue here in Osen Brook on the canal. I’m not sure if the guy or the soldier dressed there is peeing or not. I think he’s peeing. And for some reason they got bells on this building that Yeah. So happens that Osbrook has a canal going through it which I never knew. As I said I’ve been here a few times but never to explore like this. So this is um opening my eyes to a few new things I didn’t know about this little city. It’s quite surprising but in a good way. Really good way. So here we are. Palace of Osenbrook. Although it’s not a palace anymore. It’s now university. But you can tell by the grandeur of it. This place is really nice. So a little bit about the castle. The castle was built between 1669 and 1683. And during this long history, this castle was used by the royal families who commissioned it. But after a while, it was not used for a long time. And during World War II, most of it a lot or part part of it was bombed, but then was rebuilt. And what you’re watching here is what’s left, what’s been rebuilt. It does look quite amazing. Quite an amazing structure. And to be honest, a great place to learn when you think about it. Something like this would definitely give you some kind of uh something like this should inspire you to do better in life. So guys, that’s it from me. This has been Osnner. As I say, there are a lot of small cities in Germany like this that really does impress you in the smallest way. It’s not busy, not expensive, nothing like that. You know, it gives you a a glimpse of what Germany can be like or some places in Germany can be like, still full of history. So if you have a chance and you come here, not just us in the brook, there’s a lot of little cities that you could give a chance instead of going to say the bigger cities like Berlin or Munich, Hamburg, Hanova, all those places. Anyway, leave a like, subscribe, share the video if you like, and let me know in the comments below if you’ve been to a small city and would recommend that a visit next. Thanks for watching. Peace out. Another interesting statue. You see, we’re a little bit lost right now because I can’t find where I parked my car. And here we find a guy riding a fake horse or a girl. Pop my shore.
