3Days Across Europe on the World’s First Capsule Sleeper Train! | Netherlands 🇳🇱→Germany 🇩🇪→Italy 🇮🇹
Today we ride Europe’s first capsule sleeper train on it’s newest route, enjoying the sights and the local cuisine. Please enjoy the trip! Hello from Amsterdam central station. Today we are going to be riding the caspule hotel sleeper trains on it’s newest routes from the Netherlands and to Italy. This is the first route of the trip. The 1st leg is a 14 hours trip from Amsterdam to Munich, Germany. The 2nd leg is a 12 hours trip from Munich to Rome, Italy. I booked a capsule room called Mini Cabin”. Each trip cost €79.90/$93 in this mini cabins. There are no kitchen cars onboard so
I will buy something before boarding. Alcohol. From what I can remember, there’s a small
free water bottle in my cabin but it’s small. So I’ll buy extra water. I found it. All set. I hope there is a lounge I can
use as a sleeper train passenger. Don’t seem like there is one. Fortunately my sleeper train is departing
on an earlier time of the night. Oh look, like Japanese vending machine. What can we get there? Sandwich. Let’s try. Yes, I got it. I’m here at the platform. Departure’s at 7:11pm. The train is rolling in now I can catch a glimpse of the inside. Let’s head over to my car. This is the next generation of sleeper train. Unlike the traditional 4 or 6 person shared compartments, this Night Jet is equipped with individual, capsule hotel-style beds. This is the shared compartment. It’s such a relief to have my own private space for sleeping. This is my room for today. Both good for privacy and security. There is a key card in the capsule. With this key card, you can open your very
own room, luggage storage, and shoe storage. Oh no. My cabin size luggage… I managed to squeeze it in. It’s a perfect fit. There are upper and lower berths that
can be chosen when purchasing the ticket. My berth is the lower berth, number 41. This security is arguably the most important
upgrade compared to traditional berth sleepers. But somehow my door is broken. Talked to the conductor but
all berths are sold out. Now this is inconvenient. Now that the train has departed Amsterdam, The train has departed on time. Bye bye Amusterdam people. Amsterdam was interesting place. Alright, let’s take a tour of the train! We’ll start with the restroom. The bathroom is quite small even
brushing your teeth might be a pain. The washrooms are separated
by gender which is nice. Let’s take a look at the
inside of the capsule room. Officially they are known as the mini cabin. This is what it looks like from inside. There are hooks. Sliding mirror that turns into a table. The mattress could be on the harder end. There is a storage under the mattress but it’s
barely usually since it’s under the mattress. It might be useful for luggage too large
to fit the regular luggage storage. That’s a lot of safety stuff. Beside all the safety features,
there’s a control panel. You can check the toilet occupancy here, Turn off the lights, and change the light color. All the sudden, it’s like a club in here. There’s also a small window You can break out using the hammer. Not sure if it’s big enough to pass
though people. There is a sheer blind here. And there is another one. It becomes completely private now. That’s the cabin next door. Looks like no one’s in there right now. Since we can lock them, we both get our privacy. Power outlets and usb. With reading lights. light on, off And small shelf for small items. There’s a ton of stuff on the side
of the bed but with nothing removed… And a wireless charging pad. I despise the wireless charging movement so
I will boycott but using the power outlet. Amenities are A pillow. A blanket. A bed sheet. Water and a snack. Alright my dinner is going to
cool down if I don’t eat soon. Here is the burger I bought at Amsterdam. It’s a Chicken Burger. Tastes. Ok. The crust is still crispy so that’s plus. I want to eat this pasta but
I don’t have any utensils. It’s over. Or is it. I’m like halfway into the meal
but my mouth is getting tingly. Kinda scary, I might have allergies. For my safely I will stop eating this. Thanks for the food. It’s getting pretty dark now. Getting ready for sleep. I’m going to brush my teeth inside my cabin. There is no sink inside my cabin so it’s quite
inconvenient from a toothbrushing perspective. It’s delayed for 7 mins. Having a slipper is a must by the way. Easy to get out and in from the capsule. Let’s get ready for sleep. I did my best. The bed is 200cm in length so there’s
plenty of room for most people. Well let’s sleep. Good night. 3 hours into the journey. Crossed the border and made it to Germany. We stop at Munster, Germany. There are a lot of people
boarding from this station. Well let’s actually sleep. Good nights. Good morning. I actually had a good night rest. Very comfortable. The train caught up to its schedule. There’s a lot of farm land around here. Very rural. They’re even growing solar panels. eco-friendly Mini Cabin like this, it’s great for solo travelers like me, and it seems to be really popular for female solo travelers as well. It’s a beautiful morning. 6am. Here’s my breakfast. This is hot water which is used for the
tea but today I’ll use it for miso soup. I bought this miso soup packet. No this is just hard bread. Holy moly why is miso soup so good. This bread looks good. It’s pretty firm. This was a good workout for my jaw! Augsburg station. 30 minutes until our destination of Munich. Beautiful morning. It’s going to be a good day! Since we’re finally arriving in Munich, I should get my baggage out. It’s nice that everything was stored securely. I was really comfortable traveling solo. It was a super nice space. Thank you. Arriving right on time, that’s impressive! I had such a comfortable and great time. 7:06am. Arrival on time. Thanks for the ride! Bye bye. This is my first time to visit Munich. I’m excited. Alright, I’m heading to my hotel in Munich now. What a hecko is this What the heck. It’s kinda cold here. 13c. I could use a long jacket. This school like building is the Munich station. Even the station next to it
looks impressive when compared. Today’s hotel. It was like 80 euros. Pretty nice hotel. Now that I’m here. I still have 6 hours until check in. I’m going to explore the city. It looks beautiful but there’s a few beer bottles on the floor. Wow. Wowza. That’s a tall building. This is the Marienplatz. This place has over 130k reviews on google maps. Viktualienmarkt. It’s a famous farmers market with
over 60k reviews on google maps. It’s still early into the day
so I might need to come back. so I might need to come back. Guten Morgen! Sausage country! I bought a sausage. 4.2 Euro. Wait. Sausage is really good. I want to come back when there’s more people. I’m here at the Dianatempel Garden. It’s got nice flowers. Relaxing time. I’m feeling sleepy cause I
only had 5 hours of sleep. I’ll be sleeping by the time I check in. Hofbräuhaus München. Munich’s most famous beer hall. This place had 99k reviews on google maps. I was expecting it to be crowded with people but I guess I’m early. I’ll come back when it’s gets crowded. It’s noontime. I’ll head to the farmers market. The market that was silent in the morning is full of life. Seems like a good place to have lunch. Biergarten, an outdoor drinking/dining area. Cornerstone of Bavarian culture. This is the Viktualienmarkt Beergarden. Here’s the menu. The cheapest menu goes for around 9 euros . I when for the 6 piece with
different types of sausages. 20 euros. And the beer. The beer arrives first. Cheers my people. Bubbles. And my sausage set. I wonder what this onion is. Cool beans. Now for the big boy. There’s something inside it. Ok this is kinda nice. Blue skies. Nice lunch. The package looks like ketchup… But it’s mustard? I’m going to try the final boss, the super-huge sausage. Listen to the crunch though. Anyone want to eat my sausage. The best sausage was the smallest one. Maybe it was because it was the first sausage of this big meal. many many sausages. I won. Thanks for the food. There is a lot more people here now. i need this. 2pm. Finally checked into my room. There’s air conditioning. I wonder if it gets hot here in Munich. I’ll have a shower. Slept for a bit. Dinner time. Going to a nearby restaurant because I can. I’ll try a classic Bavarian dish made from the lower part of a pig’s leg. I ordered the Schweinshaxe, aka Pork knuckle. Looks so good. Listen to that crispy skin. It also came with potato dumplings. Called the Kartoffelknödel. I don’t know how to pronouce this. It was filling. Thanks for the food. and good night. Good morning. It’s another beautiful day today. It’s before noon so I’m going
to try out the Weißwurst. In Bavaria, people traditionally eat Weißwurst before noon because the sausage is made in the morning, so should be eaten fresh. Tastes like lemons. A good simple way to start your morning. Thanks for the food! Another day another gelato. Sushi from the German Supermarket. Munich is a very nice city. Lot’s of greenery. The English Garden. It’s a big park, even bigger than New York’s Central Park. What’s going on there. There’s even people surfing. Apparently this surfing culture started in the 1970s. It’s now recognized as one of the most iconic river-surfing spots in the world. This is intresting as well. People flow from this river it seems. There’s more coming. What a peaceful place. 25c Sunny. The sushi isn’t bad as well. This is the ideal weather. I’m back for the second and
last meal here at Munich. Hofbräuhaus. Hofbräuhaus is Munich’s most famous beer hall, founded in 1589 by Bavarian dukes as a royal brewery. It’s now a lively symbol of German beer culture with music, hearty food, and beer. This place is huge. There’s even an upstairs. This is the menu. I’m not so big fan of beer, but I need to try this in this country. cheers, my people! hmm I got the Schweineschnitzel Wiener Art 19.50 €. And the Hofbräu Original 500ml. It’s basically pork cutlet right. This mustard tasting side meal is great. Sometimes it’s the side dishes that makes things memorable. Thanks for the food! I didn’t even pay tip for this place. This place is great for that reason alone. The meal was great. Now preparing for my night train. I’m at the station. 20:08 Munich. To 10:00 ROME. I got my dinner when I get hungry. Alright let’s go. The train has already arrived. The regular couchette car
is linked to today’s train. I can you even see the inside. The train has seen some days. No wonder OBB is launching new night trains. Today my cabin is in Car
number 415, seat number 41. Coincidentally I got the same room
number as I did on my previous ride. Room 41. I’ve got my luggage all stored already. I hope this one isn’t malfunctioned. This time is… open! Clap clap clap. It opens. Hmm. It’s not departing. Ok it’s departing. Away to Rome we go. When boarding you will provide you
with water and your breakfast options. Tea or coffee. It’s either sleep or eat. It’s only been 20 minutes, but the train
is already running in the countryside. You also get to see walls. I bought a sandwich so I’m going to eat. I saw a lot of people in Munich
eating this burger so I was curious. Wait this looks good. This might be better than the schnitzel I had. It’s like the pork knuckle I had yesterday, Would recommend. Now brushing my teeth. Don’t forget to bring your own
towel because they are not provided. Alright time to sleep. Now crossing the border from Germany to Austria. Hurray we made it to Austria. Our next stop is Salzburg. You may not see it but we crossed a river. Welcome to Austria. What should I eat tomorrow in the Rome. I hope the food is good there. Well. We will probably be in Italy before sunrise so… See you tomorrow in Italy. I woke up for the toilet and I’m at Villach. A bordering city between
Italy Slovenia and Austria. A sudden stop woke me up. The lights are turned on for some reason. I can’t turn them off. I can’t turn them off! Okay, I want to sleep now. Okay good. It’s still 4am. 5:48am. Bologna. 7:00am. Good morning from Italy. We past by Florence and now
heading to Rome without stops. The buildings here are completely
different from that in Germany. Did the altitude change that much? My water bottle got a diet. It’s 7:50 so my breakfast should arrive soon. I’m seeing trees that I usually don’t see. This is great. Especially since the train runs until
10am we get to see some scenery. Breakfast. Bread and Bread. The bread is different. Still hard. soup time. I think I need a soup like this trip. I have soup. The bread is actually good. Now that breakfast is over,
I’ll tour around the train. I’m going to see other seats. Nevermind. I don’t think I can access the regular seated car. What a hecko. okay good, it’s open. I guess I need to get off now, right?? At the end of each car is the 4 person couchette. There are 5 of these cars linked to each other. After 12 hours. From Munich to Rome in just one train ride. This is nice. We made it to Roma Tiburtina. I think this station is what Newark is to New York City. One more train ride to the Main Rome station. I got off at the wrong station. But before that let’s check in to our
hotel and leave our luggage there. This is the Rome termini! Now going to the Colosseum. I found something along the way. Same Europe but hotter. I don’t see anyone wearing long sleeves here. I need water. Rome is quite hilly. Even Rome has graffiti on the wall. The best angle in Rome is also 45 degrees. What is that. What the heck is this. Big ancient churros laaying on the ground. I have no idea what this is
but it must be important. I made it to the trevi fountain. It has 470k reviews on google maps. Ok. Don’t really know why it’s that famous but ok. Here it is. I’ve heard it’s a tradition to
toss coins into the fountain. If you have a good heart you can see
me throwing a coin into the well. Landed safely. I’m getting hungry. I’m going to eat lunch now. This place looks good. I’m going visit this place because the
staff was sweeping the garbage outside. I got the house wine Chardonnay. 6€. That’s actually a lot for 6€. And the Carbonara. 13€. That looks good. This bacon is revolutionary. It’s like someone trying real ramen after only having instant ramen. Holy this Italian bacon is insanely good. What the heck. The bacon is better than the pasta. Thanks for the meal. Guanciale was the best bacon I have ever had. I need this as usual. Now heading to the colosseum. There it is. It’s smaller than expected. Colosseum. The gathering of pizza ovens. There are paid portable water
fountains walking all around Rome. Good thing I bought water. I thought that was a statue but it’s a board lol. Apparently you can enter the Colosseum but I’ll
save that for a the next time I come to Rome. I’m back at Rome station and
in the station was a food hall. I found it hard to actually oven baked pizza
with all the tourists traps around the city. I’m going to get pizza. I found a pizza place. A bit small but looks good. There are two pizza places in
the food hall so don’t be fooled. Pizza was great. Well time to head to the next destinations Night trains in Europe are in good hands. If they change all the couchette
cars to these private cabins. I think it could revolutionize rail travel. There are currently 6 out of 22 Obb night
train routes use the new generation trains. I personally want to travel
across Europe from Paris or something more from the west side of Europe. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day!

Have a nice day !!!❤🎉😊
Мне кажется, тапки перепутаны😊. И да, 17:35 🇺🇦💙💛🇺🇦.
the tingly mouth with the pasta might just be sensitivity to a preservative in it, i get that with premade pasta salads and jarred pasta sauces. it's weird but not an allergy
@1:55 Looks more like the American Horn & Hardart Automat style vending that was popular in 1920s -30's. Fresh food is replenished from behind the cabinet.
edit: apparently first of such restaurants was in Berlin 1895 😮
А мне не понравилось традиционные купейные вагоны лучше и просторнее!
Happy Channel Anniversary dude!! Great food on show as usual in this, but uh, I have a question!
Why was there an sliding section you could open with the connecting cabin?? Seemed a little odd to me?
Hehe, I see that sausage joke in theeeeere. I know what you thinkin 🤣
Смотрел в ожидании, что раскажет про Словению, а он назвал её Словакией (33.50) и пошел спать😒
Merci! J' ai voyage avec vous avec plaisir❤
Это же надо умудриться столько съесть за такой небольшой промежуток)
Moim zdaniem Niemiec to nie tylko to zguba narodów Szwab od wielu lat który kradnie i nie dajcie się okradć Polska jest tego dowodem !!!!!!
wish you would speak
OK, the food is junk, the "cabin" is clastrofobic, solar panels covered farm land… what else?
19:32 this beer hall was just in the most recent season of the amazing race!
Thanks! This is exactly what I would have chosen from the chicken burger to the Orangina to a berth just right to get some rest.😊
Thank You for this video ❤❤
LOUSY camera work.
18:12 Nice dog. I'm taking my teddybear dogs for grooming tomorrow.
Your guys make great sausages.
Great coverage thank you. Takes me back to my summer journeys in the 70’s from Holland down to Spain on the overnight service. Would get up at night when crossing the mountains to see the lights of distant towns glow in the dark.
Chilean wine…un manjarr
I love this video and journey 🥰💕
SUPER MAGNIFIQUE BON VOYAGE

For some reason you think 45 minutes of extreme close ups of things at obscure angles is a good watch.
That train looks amazing (and so does everything else…that is a lot of sausage!) , but that river… stream, looks heavenly!
Well, we’re glad you got into your compartment. We were a little worried.
when I was youg(er), I used to travel frequently on both orient express trains (Arlberg and north path) between Paris and Vienna in "couchettes" or "wagon.lit" (about 18 hours depending on the path) , you give me the nostalgia of these trips. And I love your watch: I wear the same ones ! Greetings from Mexico.
🍾🌹☕🎂🍷🍓👌
😲
I will be rather new to traveling around Europe. What. Is a frequent or common way travelers pay for foods, trips and accommodations?
okay I love the 23:41 pork knuckle and beer and potato dumplings (Knödel pronounced 'knurdle') and the Rome spaghetti with guanciale looks delicious – but 3 days on a train – how does it compare to hotel costs ?
Single sleeper? What a joke. I would rather take a beating with a big stick than use this train.
The way my belly would be beat boxing after 5 sausages and a pile of onions chile. And sitting in a little cabin by myself 😭😭😭 it would be so bad
1:57 That's an Automat. The Netherlands has those as franchises, with FEBO being one of the most recognized.
(Note that the word "Automat" is the German equivalent of a slot machine, FWIW.)
As a business model, it looked poised for a comeback a few years ago, thanks to Winnie the Flu. And there may yet be room for it Stateside, in places where traditional fast food is becoming untenable.
14:39 German Brötchen can be a bit of an acquired taste. They're intended to be tough on the outside, softer on the inside. The idea is that whatever you spread on them–jam, butter, Quark, Nutella–they can hold.
Such an easy to follow video.
16:31 That's a sensor for the blind. Those go WAY back: I remember seeing those in the 1980s.
