Hallway leading to the Place Massena The Place Masséna is the historic main square of the city Fontaine de Soleil (Sun Fountain) The “derriere” view 😉 The Seven statues of 7 kneeling men on high poles are meant to represent the 7 continents. Oh, it looks like the bird is trying to compete with the 7 kneeling men statues, ha ha! The Avenue Jean Médecin is a street located in the center of Nice, one of the city’s main north-south traffic arteries.. Hmm, where did the traffic go? (Ha!) Inside the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice The Promenade du Paillon is a green corridor located in Nice. The statue is of Andre Massena, a military commander. The fountains, a big favorite with kids! The Promenade des Anglais or Prom’ is an avenue running along the seafront facing the Bay of Angels in Nice Castle Hill Overlook, a place for great views of the city. The Sea Urchin sculpture near the I Love Nice sign. He’s the king of the world!!! The beaches here are pebbly.. good camouflage for the gulls! Woah, where did that bird come from?! Views from the top of “Castle Hill” which offers panoramic views of the city. The iconic view of the Nice coastline with the dome of the Negresco hotel in the distance. What crowds! The beach is packed! Look at the waves! The sea was angry that day, my friends! 🙂 The port side (as opposed to starboard ;))with the lighthouse (Phare) of Nice. Ferries to Corsica and Sardinia (Italian Island). Anyone going to Italy? Bird hanging out at the refreshment area hoping for some handouts 🙂 I like this view so much it is hanging on my living room wall! It was built for the posh English people who used to holiday in Nice. La Chaise Bleue (“The Blue Chair”). Hmm, Nice seems to be big on modern sculptures! Neuf lignes obliques (English: Nine Oblique Lines) is a steel monument on the Promenade des Anglais, by French artist Bernar Venet. It was commissioned to mark the 150th anniversary of the 1860 annexation of the County of Nice by France. The monument to the Centenary of the reunion of Nice with France, by André-Joseph Allar The Tritons’ Fountain located in Jardins(Gardens) Albert I of Nice off the Prom’.
