🏙️ About Athens:
Athens is one of the oldest cities in the world — with more than 3,400 years of recorded history. It’s where democracy, philosophy, and theater were born. But today, it’s also a mix of old and new: ancient ruins sit next to graffiti-covered alleys, luxury boutiques next to flea markets, and rooftop bars look out over temples built thousands of years ago.
It’s chaotic, loud, warm, and full of contradictions — and that’s exactly what makes it beautiful.

🎒 Useful Info for First-Time Visitors
• Monastiraki Square is a great starting point. You’ll find rooftop bars, markets, and metro access.
• Ermou Street is the main shopping street — fully pedestrian and stretches all the way to Syntagma.
• Taxis are everywhere, but walking is often faster in central Athens.
• Best time to visit: Spring (April–June) and fall (September–October). Summer gets very hot.
• Most locals speak English, especially in the center, but a simple “Yassou” (hi) or “Efharistó” (thank you) goes a long way.
